We have stayed at this property several times in the past but not since 2018. The apartment hotel remains a very conveniently located, well-managed one. Staff are always helpful and communication is easy. As there is a kitchen in the room, we did not use any breakfast provided by the hotel. The room is divided into a sleeping area near the window with a sliding partition separating it from the living/kitchen/bathroom section as you enter the space. Heating worked extremely well, particularly in the living space so that the sleeping area wasn't too hot. Wifi worked well with a password for the room itself. A convenience store is at street level and a few metres away. Many restaurants nearby and a larger variety of eating places around ten minutes' walk closer to Shinjuku station. Major stores like Isetan are within a short walking distance. In their basement is a huge food department. There is a subway station not far from Citadines. There are two Citadines in Shinjuku. We stayed at the apartment one with blue and yellow decoration on the front of the building which is on a main road which I have found a preferable less crowded and quieter location especially at night time compared to the Citadines Central Shinjuku which is in a side street closer to the main station.
Nothing in particular. On previous visits the lifts may have taken longer to arrive but this time the wait times were short.

I loved this property, I decided to trust the reviews and I’m so glad I did. We stayed for 2 weeks on level 4, it was quiet at the back side of the hotel. Everything that was listed was indeed provided in high detail—It was a very comfortable stay. Black out curtains worked great and on the day we slept in they left a calling card offering to come back later. The cleaning was very thorough, such a blessing. Great shower pressure, massive deep bath I enjoyed. The woman who greeted me on arrival were very helpful. Also late checkout if you join the membership club !(12pm I think?) Thanks again team— I will return here next year!
A personal preference is that I didn’t like the pillows. I’m used to using memory foam pillows at home — I forgot to inquire with the hotel and ask if they’re available so no blame on them.

I can highly recommend staying at the Citadines Shinjuku Tokyo. We stayed here as a couple on our holiday. We stayed four nights here before moving to a higher priced hotel in Azabu Juban. We have lived in Tokyo previously so we know the city pretty well. We stayed here to keep our average cost of accommodation down and to be honest it exceeded all of our expectations. The studio room was very generous by Tokyo standards. Very easy to live in for four days and next time we will probably stay longer. We didn’t use the cooking facilities but very handy to have them for people who don’t want to eat out all the time. Extremely comfortable bed, actually more comfortable than the more expensive hotels. Good temperature in the rooms, very clean everywhere. Good water pressure and a fully functional Japanese toilet! Compact bathroom with a small bath which I wish I’d used in hindsight after long days walking around Tokyo. Lots of storage so you can properly unpack. The staff all incredibly helpful and welcoming. No it is not a glamorous hotel so don’t come here if you want stylish fit out but if you just want a clean larger room in a great location I would highly recommend trying it. The small sofa and coffee table were very nice to have although it was the hardest so far I’ve ever sat on! Excellent value for money. 5 min walk to a Metro station on the Maranouchi line and lots of convenience stores around. Walking distance to Shinjuku gyoen. We didn’t include the breakfast as we prefer to get an egg sandwich from 7-11 or Lawson. They provided coffee bags and green tea in the room both of which lovely quality.
Decipher in the room is incredibly hard, but it certainly wouldn’t put me off staying again.

Spacious room for Tokyo standards. Everything in the room was well placed and functional. Good water pressure in the bathroom. House keeping promptly arrived on the dot every morning. Located next door is a 711, very helpful for daily supplies and an amazing range of desserts (do not miss out on the cream eclairs). In fact since we had a late night check in we picked up a pre-cooked pasta meal from the 711 on the first night, which was just delicious. Comfortable beds and good air conditioning. Front staff where very helpful in coordinating pick ups with the taxi drivers and in giving out general directions. A 10-15 minute walk from the bustling Shinjuku area wherein you will find shopping, restaurants and night life.
Basic breakfast, would be unfair to comment since we did not eat at the hotel on any given day. The bathtub would be a bit of a challenge for senior citizens to get in and out of.

The rooms are extremely well designed, having a kitchenette, full bathroom (may have the shower over the bath), sofa/sitting area and access to both sides of the double bed. For Tokyo this is much more spacious than usual. We first stayed here 8 years ago and I doubt the rooms have changed much since. However they still seemed very clean and didn't appear worn out. The staff are very helpful. The alleyway (turn left outside the hotel and then left again immediately after 7 Eleven) has several good bars and restaurants if you want to eat locally.
The gym is extremely small. The breakfast has limited options. Probably not worth it. Beware that you don't go to Shinjuku Central Citadines - it's a different hotel branch much closer to Shinjuku Station. The names are confusingly similar. The hotel is quite a long walk to Shinjuku central area but well placed for Shinjuku-gyoemmae subway station and the wonderful Gyoen Mai National Garden, and the bus stops right outside too.

Nice and clean, very nice staff and the room was big and nice.
It would have been nice to screenshare to the TV with your phone, but that's about it.

We had booked without breakfast, but then ate there once. It was ok, nothing extraordinary but sufficient. The room was rather large by Tokyo standards. The bed was comfortable and overall everything was very clean. There was good free coffee in the lobby.
The bathroom smelled quite strongly of sewage. After showering it was better for a short time, but the bad odour quickly returned. The bath towels and even the pyjamas were changed daily, although we always hung them up properly. So not a trace of eco. The request to save water when brushing your teeth was in stark contrast to the toilet, where the water started running as soon as you sat on it. Probably to drown out the sound of the actual toilet visit. You could save a lot of water there.

We loved everything about this hotel. The location was easy enough for us to walk to and from a few of the stations, and easy enough to get into main Shinjuku, we even walked down to Shibuya and Harajuku but that was a long leisurely walk. The Staff were great and friendly, being an ASR member meant we could get a later check out, and we were accommodated into our rooms straight away before check in as well. The room itself was quiet big for Japan, and the kitchenette was great, the cleaners did a great job as well. The Laundry facilities were great and convenient for us. Highly Recommend
There wasn't anything we didn't like.

It was a good size, bigger than the average hotel in Japan. We had three suitcases and could move around the room. Likewise there was a comfortable gap between the beds which meant we each had our own sense of space ( unlike some hotels where they push the beds together). The room has a bar fridge, hot plate and microwave which was awesome to have and which we didn’t see other hotels offer. The staff were friendly and the hotel provided a good array of complimentary items and the room had lots of cupboard storage. The location is about 15 minutes walk from the heart of Shinjuku- but it is a straight, easy and safe walk. Also meant it was quieter at night away from the hustle and bustle. Still lots of little restaurants around the hotel ( and KFC) close by.
The breakfast was ok we only had it once nothing fancy and limited offerings but good if you just want to have something before heading off ( offered both Japanese and western options eg toast, eggs and pork sausages)

The room was very clean. Room was cleaned everyday and done very well. The location was also good. There is a train station nearby, within a 5minute walk. Can catch buses nearby and close to a 7/11 and Lawson store. A few parks nearby, and a temple within walking distance. A nice neighbourhood in Shinjuku. Check in was seamless without issue. They allowed us to keep our luggages there before check in time while we explored around. The room space was just enough to open suitcases comfortably and walk around without being too squashed- room accommodated 2 adults and a child without issue. Lots of nearby restaurants.
