We booked a total of 2 rooms and have requested both rooms to be on the same floor. On the day of check-in, the staff informed us that they have upgraded our rooms and had assigned the rooms on the same floor. We had to follow the staff to walk a few blocks from the hotel lobby before she showed us to the rooms. We were surprised that the rooms were on a private level with just 2 rooms and a dedicated door. The rooms were spacious and had a small kitchen and can fit more than our family of 5. Apart from the usual amenities, they also provided skincare and shaving care for guests' use. Though the hotel was located about a 15 mins walk away from the Shinjuku buzz area, there were convenience stores, restaurants and cafes within reach if you prefer.

We had to carry our luggage up a few flights of steps to get to the lift before reaching our rooms. The aircon in the room was rather loud and we had a hard time sleeping since we were unable to adjust using the controller. It was quite tricky to use the controller since all the commands were in Japanese and when it gets too cold, we were unable to check the temperature nor adjust it.

On arrival and departure the lady was very friendly and helpful.

On the morning of day 2 there was a younger girl who did not smile and was less than helpful. This did not detract overall satisfaction.

Location, friendly staff. Bathroom was large. Size of room was good. Held bags for us on check out. Free water each day.

Paid $200 a night online and sign said $80 a night outside. Bed was hard, pillows were very thin and blanket was thin. Asked for another blanket and was given one so that was good.

Have stayed here twice now due to its great location and spacious rooms. The hotel is a short walk from both Shinjuku Gyoemmae station and Shinjuku Sanchome station, which means you don’t have to navigate the complexities of Shinjuku Station. The rooms are clean and very large compared to other typical hotels rooms, which means you can easily store and open your luggage without any issues.

A minor inconvenience is that it only has two prong power outlets, which you can buy adaptors for. All other hotels on our trip had usb charger outlets available. If this could be upgraded, the hotel would be 10/10!

The hotel is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, close to the subway station (5 minutes walking). There was no breakfast included in the reservation, but there were grocery and convenience stores very close by. We ha a room upgrade and we stayed in an annex building on the same street. The room had mini kitchen, dining table, and utensils, which was great. Excellent cleaning, well-equipped bathroom, and very spacious room. We had a double bed and a single bed, and a storage space for luggage. The stay was wonderful, we loved the area and the convenience of the surroundings. Every day room service and good air conditioning system.

The only negative point is that the only sink in the room was in the kitchen, and we had to use it to brush our teeth, wash our hands and face, which I found a little unhygienic.

The train systems got us where we wanted to go. So it's a must to learn before booking into any hotel. Hotel N-U-T-S was located in a great area with many restaurants to choose from, If you want to see other areas of Tokyo, the Shinjuku train line was only a few blocks away.

Not sure what is there not to like. However, learn the Shinjuku Train system and get your hands on a Suica card. It's a must! I used the Bullet train to see Mt. Fuji and go back to Narita Airport at the end of my stay. I also went to Sumarai Theater for Sumarai training, and the Tokyo Radio Building to buy a new computer. Visited the national garden, and the infamous Godzilla Building. I also escorted my wife to her first Sushi making class and ate some amazing Japanese food in the immediate area. All in less than 8 days and staying at hotel N-U-T-S. We had a great time and hope that this review helps.

The hotel wasn't too far away from the main area of Shinjuku but far enough out that it was in a quiet area at night time. Bed was comfy. Shower has good water pressure. Aircon kept the room nice and cool when we needed it to. We got a bottle of water each from reception every day. Reception staff were very nice and helpful. They provided a cot for our son which was great. He slept quite well in there. There is a sliding partition door between the bathroom and bedroom, and another between the toilet and the bath/shower. This came in handy to keep our son in the bedroom and also offered nice privacy when we were using the bath etc. We were travelling from Osaka back to Tokyo so we were able to ship our luggage to them with Yamato as well and they stored it for us until we arrived and then brought it up to our room for us.

Room was smaller than other japanese hotels we stayed in on our trip in terms of storage so we had to put our luggage in the bathroom out of the way but it wasn't a massive inconvenience as the toilet was in a seperate area to the bath and shower so we could still use the facilities even with luggage stored in there.

The room size was decent; it was bigger than I had expected, especially the bathroom. At least there is adequate space for me to open up my luggage for packing, unlike other city hotels in Japan, which are too tiny. Convenient location, which is close to a local subway station. Lots of restaurants/combini/pharmacy around the corner. Walking distance to Shinjuku main station. The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet. The water pressure from the shower was good. The staff was helpful with inter-city luggage transfer. Do not be fooled by the dated appearance of the exterior of the hotel.

Strict check-in and check-out time.

TLDR: great location, good service, super clean, a bit tiny but bearable, close to the LGBT district, ignore the low star reviews (they improved), this will be my go to hotel if I’m coming back to Japan! They had great staff to help us check in. I love how they change and clean the rooms every night with fresh towels. Stayed on the 4th floor. Very clean hotel! I used the bath tub as a jacuzzi at this hotel was nice and relaxing after 10 hours of walking and exploring. The location is great! It’s close to the train stations so you can pretty much go anywhere and not use uber or taxi so many restaurants and convenient stores near by. If you wanna grab breakfast or late night snacks. It’s close to the gorgeous shinjuki gyeon national garden which I recommend. We wanted to stay in a LGBT district and it was close to the bars, bathhouses, and clubs! Felt very safe around the area even at midnight! There’s a laundry mat right across the hotel so if you wanted to do laundry it’s there and convenient! Have a lot of outlets to plug and charge multiple electronics. They have a fridge which was nice. Improvements: it’s tiny only recommend this place if you have 2 guests. Anything more it might be too tight!

The location was great - close to central Shinjuku without being busy, and right near the park. There were lots of good places to eat nearby, and it was pleasant to walk into Shinjuku. The bathroom was really large, with a big bath so we could relax after a big day of walking around the city. The hotel provided us with a cot for our baby, and it was a good one. The room was clean, and had space for our things. The beds were a good size, and very comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, which was great as it was very hot outside. The hotel had a large secure space for storing our luggage before checkin and after checkout

The staff were helpful, but some of them seemed disinterested. It's not really a problem though.
