Fabulous location, very large room with space to sit at a table to eat dinner, large bathroom, excellent views from rooftop garden, very helpful, professional and friendly staff with strong English skills.

Clean and close to Shinjuku and Shibuya. Great little apartment for a young family.

Mattress on the bunks can be on the hard side, but the staff were very accommodating and gave the kids an extra quilt to lie on and soften the base.

For a Tokyo hotel we had plenty of space as a family of two adults and a ten-year-old child. Our room had two king single beds together to make a king bed, then a set of bunks. We were very comfortable - plenty of extra pillows and fluffy duvets. There was a double closet where we could hang all our clothes and put away shoes etc, a dining table with space for four, a TV, bathroom with separate toilet and kitchenette. We were on a high floor and noise was at a minimum. We could open the windows for fresh air and we used the laundry also which was great. The staff were fantastic, very welcoming, and organised our luggage to be transported to our next destination which made our onward journey so much easier! This hotel is about 10 - 15 minutes' walk to Shinjuku train station. Would definitely stay here again.

Family room worked but was a little snug for 3 adults 2 kids (6 & 8 ages). My kids loved having bunk beds. The bunks were small single futons with a shelf for a bit of storage space on the side. The 2 twin beds were attached to the bunk bed and rather narrow, but comfortable. Our 6 year old was supposed to co-sleep, but that would have been too uncomfortable. Luckily my kids were so tired from sightseeing that they crashed out together without issues. So dad got the bottom bunk and grandma and I were side by side in the singles/king set up. The room was ready early, so we paid a small fee to get in and get our sightseeing faster. We liked having a fridge/freezer and microwave. We didn’t use the stove. Nice to have a little extra room (for Tokyo) with table and seating. The staff were very helpful and kind. They let us store our bags so we could do a little more wandering on our last day.

The 15 min walk to the Shinjuku station was a bit long and hot for my 6 year old, so that didn’t get us off to a great start to our day. There is a tunnel so you don’t have to walk at street level for most of it, but that was still a bit muggy.

Front desk staff was pleasant, and the room was spacious for a Tokyo hotel. We stayed at Asakusa View Hotel Annex earlier in the trip, and while it had a bit more bells and whistles, their room was small! Mimaru has less bells and whistles, but the room is much more spacious for a family of 4. There is a hotel (Washington Hotel?) next to Mimaru, and they have some restaurants in the basement level, if you are too tired to walk looking for something to eat for dinner.

Pretty close to Shinjuku Station, but Shinjuku Station is HUGE. So you could still walk for a long time to get to the line you are looking for. Something to be aware.

Location close to Shinjuku station, but in a quieter area which was nice. There was a Seven Eleven very close. Room very spacious for Japanese standards - the only problem was storage - there was a wardrobe but with only hanging space. Some shelves would be nice! Hotel has laundry facilities that we used and also provides free cosmetics like UV cream, moisturiser etc. You can also send your luggage directly from the hotel using courier service (Yamato Kuroneko), which we did - staff completed the form for me (very helpful!). Overall, I would definitely stay again!

Lack of storage - just wardrobe with hanging space - we stayed for 8 nights so shelves would be nice.

Convenient location, easy walk to supermarket and fruit and vegetable shop, and into Shinjuku shops.

nothing really, it was the most comfortable and well appointed room, but my favourite thing of all, is that we had a room around the back of the hotel, and I could open the window and get fresh air in. They advertise that it is a home away from home, and I loved that the staff respected where we put things and left them in place, so that we felt at home. The cleaning schedule took a little bit to get used to, but then we were fine, we knew which day they changed the bed linen, etc

The hotel apartment was an excellent choice for our family. The apartment was a good size with all the facilities we needed. Comfortable and very clean. About a 15 minute walk to the station and in a quieter neighbourhood in Shinjuku, better than the crowded part of the district but still easily accessible. There is a nearby underground walkway to the station which would be useful if the weather is bad. The staff were excellent, efficient and very helpful with sending our luggage to our next hotel in Kyoto. There is a 7 Eleven close by and great restaurants just a few minutes walk away. The hotel laundry was very useful and had enough machines.

We didn’t have a good view from the room, it faced directly across from another building. But at least the windows could be opened for fresh air. Some shelves for clothing would’ve been helpful instead of just hanging space.

The room was spacious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I liked having the coin laundry available in the hotel as well as restaurant recommendations at the front desk. It was great to have enough space to eat a meal and enjoy time after long days out.

Would have liked more storage options. In a room designed for a family of four there was very little options to put away clothes or belongings neatly. We were there for a week and would have liked to keep the place tidy but this was difficult without simple things like, bedside shelves or tables, drawers for clothes and other items. It was a little far to walk from Shinjuku station everyday.
