Quaint, chic and charming - located within an old souq, incorporating the architectural elements of courtyards, thatched roofs and mud walls, the hotel is an idyllic retreat offering easy access to the beach and vibrant cafes and restaurants that now occupy the souq. We had an amazing experience at Souk Al Wakrah Hotel in Doha, everything was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and every detail was taken care of with great attention. The equipment and room amenities were modern and extremely comfortable. The location is unbeatable, just steps away from the beautiful beach and nestled in the charming atmosphere of Souk Al Wakrah. It truly combines cultural authenticity with luxurious comfort. The services were exceptional. The staff were warm, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless. We felt genuinely welcomed and well taken care of throughout. We highly recommend this hotel ++++ and without a doubt, we will be coming back again for another memorable stay!

It had a lovely pool, and staff bringing water to the pool side was a thoughtful touch. My room was spacious and I appreciated the upgrade to a junior suite. The breakfasts were diverse and delicious. I really liked the Islamic garden design with date palms and a central font.

The rooms weren’t serviced every day, the most important part was replenishing drinking water, needed daily. There was a pesky unlabelled light in the room, which if inadvertently switched on meant ‘do not disturb’. I hope these are labelled in future to prevent misunderstanding. I think it is normal to service each room everyday, if only to top up supplies like water. It would be nice to have jugs of water rather than so many plastic bottles too, just to avoid waste.

A beautiful hotel in a great quiet location. Cleaning staff were friendly and eager to help if needed. I was offered a quite room in ideal location, thank you for that. My bathroom was big and comfortable. Pool area and areas for relaxation next to the lobby are nice and peaceful. If you want to stay away from the hassle of the city, Souq Al Wakra is your place..you can either wonder around the old market or stroll along the beach. Plenty of cheap places to eat around. Very authentic.

Pillows and mattress were a bit uncomfortable for my liking. Not sure what happened a day before my departure but staff removed my bath robe and didn't replenish water. It would also help if you change towels, some of mine were so worn off which is not acceptable for a five stars hotel.

We stayed at Souq Al Wakrah hotel for two weeks with our two young children. We were absolutely stunned the moment we entered the hotel. The beautiful heritage rooms and courtyards were just beautiful. The vibe and atmosphere was just so relaxing. The pool area was amazing, plenty of sun beds etc however I would have loved there to be a separate pool for young children as the pool was 1.5m deep. I have noticed many children come to the hotel and a separate pool would be ideal and safer. Access to the beach was so easy and plenty of shops around for food etc. A huge playground and zoo for the children to enjoy, literally everything was on the doorstep. The staff at Souq Al Wakra were extremely helpful and friendly, always there any time we needed assistance. They go above and beyond and always happy to help.

The staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The services were very efficient such ad breakfast, room service. The buggy rides across the site, and even the laundry service. We really enjoyed our stay and have no complaints whatsoever and we have already recommended Souq al Wakra to family and friends.We look forward to returning back there soon.

The only thing I would have preference would be more souqs with a different variety of things to sell, especially to tourists. Also opening times could be better. I saw one bookshop in the soil area but I never saw it open. M

The staffs, everyone of them, are totally helpful and THE MOST FRIENDLY and POLITE like nowhere else! ♥️ My daughter and I, women travelling alone without men, felt being totally respected and honored all the time during our stay. We felt so safe. Thank you so much 🙏🏻 We're also so thankful for making every of our situation easier, for example I did unusual booking time at booking.com as we missed the flight in the night so that our booking wasn't appear in the hotel system. But Mr. Rashid at the reception had solved the problem without asking more complicated from me.. thank you Mr. Rashid 🙏🏻👍🏻😊 Taxi was quickly ordered as we needed it, the room was very clean and big, the bed was comfortable, the location was directly to the beach, the food in Jarnen Restaurant was so delicious 👍🏻 All was great! The hotel is absolutely beautiful. I was welcomed with some ghawa and dates. I love the traditional look that meshes in with the souq. The staff are amazing, very helpful, very kind and very friendly. They always offer to help with anything. The room was clean, spacious and just as shown on the pictures. There is a huge courtyard that was outside my room, which added some privacy on the trip. I felt like I had my own space. I like that the rooms are on ground level but also the whole place is very quiet which was blissful. I was even given a plate of some sweets and a bowl of fruit, which was appreciated. My first morning while heading for breakfast, I noticed that the restaurant opens out on to the beach as well as the hotel being part of the souq! This was the absolute highlight! Everymorning I would go and put my feet in the water! The breakfast selection at the hotel is great! There is something for everyone! Big shout out to Chef Rosemary, she makes the best cheese omelet! Overall, an exceptional stay at Souq AL Wakra Hotel! I have recommended the hotel to friends and family! Thank you so much for a wonderful experience and excellent hospitality from all the staff.

Nearly everything was top quality. The hotel itself boasts a beautiful architecture based on traditional Qatari courtyard houses. The room was beautifully decorated with lovely marble flooring and beautiful mud-like walls and false timber ceiling. The staff are courteous, helpful and friendly. There's often free Arabic coffee at the reception where you can help yourself to a cup as you wait for help, a taxi or your valet. Beautiful touch of Arab hospitality. The hotel itself is pretty much part of Souq Al Wakra. Once the sun sets, make sure to make your way down the promenade for an excellent selection of restaurants, cafes, little shops and everything in between. At one time during breakfast, I heard Fairuz's Zahrat El Mada'en playing on the restaurant speakers. Made my day as a Palestinian. This is an establishment which stands on the right side of humanity and history, as does most of Qatar for that matter. PS: The England football team stayed at this hotel during the 2022 World Cup. You'll see their signed shirts and photos up in one of the courtyards.

I've stayed at other five-star hotels around the GCC which had a far better breakfast offering, both in quality and variety. I was surprised at how little Arabian/Arab breakfast items were available at the buffets. You really only had what appeared to be canned hummus. Real shame.

The breakfast was awsome so so good. And made to order omelettes and waffles by chef Rosemary. She always had a smile. I have to say I really liked Lina greeting me by name each morning. The staff from the reception to house keeping to security to the spa staff, Ruby Ann and Boity. They treated us like queens. I felt so safe, and they gave good suggestions about where to go buy in the souq and get the best deals. The buggies where awsome and their other restaurant Azerbaijani had the best lamb chops o have ever tasted and the Mocktails that they made woooo I dream about them. Honestly this was top tier vaccination spot right by the beach to be able to see the sunrise each morning. It was perfect Each time I fly through Doha and I have a long layover I will come out and stay here and have been recommending this hotel to everyone I know.
