I had the pleasure of staying at Holiday Inn Express Manchester East by IHG for two nights, and I can confidently say the experience was excellent. From the very beginning, the front desk team impressed me with their kindness, professionalism, and willingness to assist — always ready to answer any questions and offer help with a smile. A big thank you also goes to the housekeeping staff, who checked the room daily even though I was only staying for two nights. This gesture truly reflects their attention to detail and dedication to guest comfort. Breakfast was exactly what you need to start the day right — varied, delicious, and perfect for recharging your energy before a busy day. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, quality service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I will definitely return!

Very friendly staff, the room was clean and basic, what you would expect with TV, kettle with coffee and tea, hairdryer and a fan that kept us cool which was a nice touch but ideal for what we needed and also quite, the free WiFi has great reception better than some. the free breakfast was good but not as much choice as some but still good and we enjoyed it. There is free parking and the hotel was easy to get to . Well situated for the co-op area and city centre. Overall worth the money we paid and pleased with our stay. Would definitely stay again if we come back to Manchester. There is a McDonald's next to the hotel but after reading the reviews I decided not to use it.²

The carpets and sofa in the room where marked and maybe have seen better days

Accessible via a main road so easy to get to but set back from traffic down its own semi-private road so it isn’t noisy and feels more upscale. Good amount of parking and there’s McDonalds within walking distance back down that road. Free breakfast annd wifi included even with the cheapest room option annd the food options accommodated my friend who is gluten free. Staff were lovely, would stay again.

Lift was out of service and my friend struggles with stairs, this was not advertised when booking a month ago. It was fine as we were only staying one night so she only had to climb stairs twice but had we stayed more she would have struggled. We might have received an email in days leading up to our stay about it, I don’t recall it being mentioned but I could be wrong, though it would have been too late to find somewhere else anyway.

The staff are outstanding. They were very helpful and friendly - exactly the type of people needed for a customer-facing role. Room was clean, but very warm. There didn't seem to air conditioning, but there was a good fan. It wasn't noisy, so we slept well. The bed and pillows were comfy. Breakfast options are diverse. The scrambled egg was good. A hot drinks machine and microwave were available for use during the day. Plenty of free parking.

I suppose the heat in the room was the only thing, but as good as the staff were, they can't control the weather.

The hotel was in a great location (for our needs of visiting family). Easy to locate and check-in a breeze. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The addition of an included buffet breakfast was brilliant. We didn't use the restaurant are for evening meals, so can't comment on this (although looking at the menu - it was quite a basic choice). Our room was adequate for our needs (just the 2 of us) - quite basic although tea and coffee was provided, heater and on-suite. Shower creams, etc were also provided along with towels. We spent time out during the day and so this hotel was perfect for us. would definitely use again.

Pillows could do with being a tad softer - can't think of anything else. You get what you pay for and this was good value

My stay was excellent. :) The bed was comfortable, and the room was nice and clean. Staff who work there are amazing. Everyone was smiling and helpful. Special thank you for two girls Karolina and Beata. They helped me with check-in and check-out and were so nice and happy. I stayed only for a night as I came with my daughter for a concert, but it felt like home, so safe. As I mentioned before, the room was so clean, and also shower gel, soap, and shampoo available. It's a bit of a surprise as usually in other hotels I stayed there were empty bottles. Unfortunately, we needed to go back earlier and couldn't stay for breakfast, but I'm sure it is nice. If I need to travel again to Manchester, I will definitely choose this hotel. Excellent place. Thank you so much :)

The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble, from the moment we got there they were more than happy to help ! They told us it would be best to get a taxi to where we needed to be and went on to give us a number to ring. We got back to the hotel a bit later and they said if we ordered food we were welcome to eat it in there. All staff members were friendly, lovely and polite. We had breakfast which was okay, it was very busy for quite a small area but we was informed when checking in to get down as early as possible as it would be busy. Again all staff members were more than happy to help during breakfast and it was constantly being filled up when it got low. Overall a pleasant little hotel, which suited my family for what we needed it for. Would stay again when we visit the area in the future.

We felt that the hotel room could maybe do with freshening up with a lick of paint but overall it was clean and comfortable.

I didn't realise, when I booked on Booking.com, that breakfast was included - it was a real bonus to find it was. I had to come down in an emergency and it was a perfect location for visiting my dad in Tameside hospital. The room was big, the bed was very comfortable. The room had everything I needed. I hadn't had time to pack more than a quick change of clothes but there was iron with board, kettle, towels, etc. etc. Everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean. The free breakfast was buffet style and had something to suit everyone - mine was delicious. I brought my two dogs, they received a treat bag when they arrived. I knew I would be charged for bringing them but the charge was mcuh less than I thought. There was even a park around the corner to give them a long walk. All the staff I spoke to were really helpful and friendly. I feel very lucky to have found this hotel.

Nothing really! The only thing, and it is minor, there was no shampoo in the shower. I hadn't had time to pack any. Usually there is some but there was only shower creme and hand wash. However, all of these were 'Dove' so I used the Dove shower creme on my hair and it felt better than my normal shampoo!!!

We stayed xmas day night and were greeted by Leighton, who told us we didn't have a double bed but pushed the single beds together and offered us both a drink from the bar, he was very helpful. The room was perfect for us, we took our drinks to the room and were really comfortable watching TV, hot drink facilities in the room too, brilliant. Then to top it all a wonderful leisurely full breakfast. This hotel was certainly good value for money and we look forward to coming again, and recommend to friends and family so thank you.

There wasn't anything

Good location with a carpark that has very good greenery, for a holiday inn sells exceptionally well choice of beer with a fairly reasonable price. Room was clean and well equipped, not far at all from a Tesco or eateries around the area, with direct buses to picadilly where you can drink and forget to come back. Friendly staff always with a smile, certainly helps when you work away from the worst parts of manchester.

For a property 20 mins away from picadilly I am afraid the price was a bit on the pricy end in our case. Room was small, would fit 3 dudes with 3 duffle bags fine but 1 dude 2 woman with 4 suitcases and a dufflebag? Not so much. Bed also would mysterious sink in whenever sat onto particularly near the end, but it did serve the purpose of a bed well.
