My fifth visit for six nights, everything was perfect. Luther King House is set in its own lovely grounds, has a residents car park, and is very quiet at night. Martin and James in the breakfast room give exceptional, friendly service with lots of local information. Great location for Manchester Airport, Curry Mile, and City Centre. The hotel is served by three nearby night buses, which are very helpful for a late night out in the city. Highly recommended for travellers on a budget who want value for money and a lovely atmosphere.

Good single rooms for solo traveller. Welcoming staff. Comfortable lounge. Amazing choice of breakfast dishes. Quiet, yet close to public transport for city centre. I stay here frequently; it never lets me down.

Better lighting in bedroom for reading would help.

This is a little oasis of peace in an otherwise extremely busy city. It mainly functions as a college so expect to mingle with Theology students. There is free on site parking though spaces are limited. The accommodation is set around a leafy green garden with lots of seating. We were allocated a disability room which had a good wet room. Although there is a very busy road alongside, we were not bothered by noise. The room was adequate and very good value for money. Tea and coffee tray in the room. Breakfast was continental but with a very good range of foods including freshly made porridge and boiled eggs. We met some lovely staff - the very helpful guy who served breakfast offered lots of tips on places to visit.

I could feel the springs of the mattress on my bed. Asked for a duvet to lie on - one receptionist unable to assist but another sorted it!

It’s in a great quiet location, on the bus route to the city centre. Has some lovely parks nearby and just a short walk away is the hustle and bustle of the famed curry mile with lots of places to eat and things going on. The building itself has some interesting character , the garden/courtyard is especially wonderful with little birds tweeting in the morning to a few mischievous squirrels bobbing around in the evening! My room was spacious, clean and comfortable with all the usual amenities you’d expect. Nice big mugs for tea rather than little tea cups was appreciated! All the staff that I spoke to are very nice and helpful from the ladies on reception to the nice men serving the delicious continental breakfast.

We had a great stay! The staff were amazing—super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was basic but good, and overall, the place offers excellent value for money. The bar/buffet prices were very reasonable too. The location is ideal: it’s in a quiet area, but just a short walk from a lively street full of restaurants, street food, and dessert spots. Bus stops are only 3–5 minutes away on foot. While the city center is a bit far, it’s still walkable, and you can easily get there by bus in just a few minutes. We were in Manchester because of Parklife Festival, thankfully, the hotel has a lovely little garden where you can just chill and try to pull yourself together when you’re hungover. It was a lifesaver. 😂 The only downside was the bed—it definitely needs an upgrade. Other than that, everything was great! We would stay here again!

I regularly stay here when visiting Manchester, usually for live music events. It is about 30 minutes bus ride from city centre but has so many choices of bus links to different areas, even the Manchester airport bus stops near. They are parks and local shops a short walk away. Luther King House staff are friendly and professional. There is buffet breakfast. Iron and ironing board is available if you need it. Plus as no air conditioners , there were a number of mini fans left out if you needed one for your room. Great to have the option of free car parking space. Although on this occasion I used trains and buses for my journey from london.

Would have liked to be have more coffee and milk available in the room, but I am sure if I asked at reception it would have been supplied.

Second stay here for work purposes and will definitely be first choice to use again when back in Manchester. Very friendly staff. Breakfast is fab and the stay was extremely good value for 2 nights. Our room was larger this time. Clean and comfortable room. Location great, easy walk to bus stop, parks, cafes, restaurants and shops. Bus £2 into city centre. Nice gardens. Staff allowed me to wait in large community room once checked out and my husband had gone into the city to do a fire risk assessment. He also felt the fire precautions here were excellent!!

The main corridor stairs could do with a deep clean but room itself excellent.

I loved the location and how they have little cards that tell you what buses run into the city centre. The continental breakfast was spectacular and I loved how they had a range of herbal teas, the chef was super friendly and gave us a map with detailed info on attractions in Manchester.

Bathroom door didn't close right which was a bit awkward and very thin walls thought I suppose there's not much you can do about that, the girl at the front desk was very different in attitude from the rest of the staff, she was a bit rude and standoffish when we were checking in.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The room was simple but very cozy, offering the perfect setting for a restful night’s sleep – I slept wonderfully. What stood out the most was the incredibly friendly staff, who were always helpful and attentive. The breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of high-quality options that left nothing to be desired. Additionally, the public transport connections were excellent, making it easy and convenient to get anywhere. I will definitely return and highly recommend this hotel!

A bit old fashioned - but that’s okay

Brilliant 3 night stop for a couple days at the cricket. Very easy to get to and from Old Trafford by bus. Great breakfast, lots of shops, restaurants and a couple of Wetherspoons nearby. Easy bus transport to city centre, Trafford Centre and railway station. Quiet, comfortable and peaceful place and location. Excellent base for a few days. It's no 5 star hotel but it's super for the cost. Just have reasonable expectations when you go there,
