I have no idea what I was expecting when I got to the hotel due to the reviews that I had read, but I really liked my room. The rooms were very clean as was the rest of the hotel, and definitely value for money. As a solo traveller (18 Female) I was concerned that I wouldn’t feel safe on my first solo trip abroad, but this wasn’t the case at all. The reception staff were very polite and made me feel very welcome. Checking in and out was an extremely fast process too, in comparison to some other hotels I’ve stayed at. The hair dryer worked wonders too which I was not expecting at all considering hotel hairdryers are usually terrible. The shower was a great pressure and the water was lovely and warm. I was also spoilt for choice on plugsockets, I think I had 12 all together.

The was a little bit scary so I chose to go up the stairs (4th floor though, it was rough.) The halls were creepy and the floors creaked but that’s nothing major, I just watch too many scary tiktoks. Really the only negative things I can say about the hotel is the toilet made a racket throughout the night, it didn’t keep me up or anything believe me after all those steps I was out almost once I hit the unbelievably comfy bed, if I had the luggage I’d of brought the pillow home too cause I slept for 14 whole hours. However as someone who needs a sisi every 30 minutes hearing water trickling isnt great. There was also no air conditioning and in April I was sweating cobs and I couldn’t sleep with the windows open cause you’d get the occasional tosspot racing down the road.

It is an invigorating 15 minute walk from Old Riga and there is also a regular and very reasonable bus/tram service, particularly on the street one block over to the NW, so the hotel is very conveniently situated.

One thing they could do is spruce up the Reception area. There seemed to be a rather defensive grill between the person working at Reception and the arriving client and any time I passed during my week there all I could see was a pair of eyes watching as I passed. An open-plan counter would be a help, with someone standing or sitting there whose face one can see. After all, they can see you!

Excellent option if you want a decent hotel room at a low cost. An old hotel in a beautiful building from beginning of last century. Several bus lines stop close to the hotel but I preferred to walk the 20 min into old town. My room had a refrigerator which was nice to keep drinks cold. Several good pubs/restaurants in the neighborhood. Two old but fast elevators. Helpful staff in reception. Possibility to store luggage. Large room with wardrobe, desk, chair, TV and two beds.

My room towards the main street was rather hot since the window was directed towards southeast. It was too noisy to have the window open during night due to the traffic. The cold water tap had very low pressure. The free WiFi was extremely slow and often didn't work at all. Could sometimes be used for simple surfing but not for video or online meetings. When I was there, the restaurant in the hotel was closed for renovation.

- Great location, close to all the tourist attractions and also to bus stops if you want to travel outside Riga. There is also a supermarket next to the hotel for small shopping. - Even though the hotel is pretty old, it's very tidy and clean. - For people who like to have a coffee or drink inside the hotel, there is a small bar near the reception desk.

- There is no kettle or water dispenser in the hotel, so you cannot prepare your own tea. - Our room was lacking half of the curtains, which made it a bit difficult to sleep, taking into account that the days are very long here in summer.

The hotel operates in an Art Nouveau building that was adopted for a hotel. It seems gloomy, but it has a charm. For instance we received a family room that was like a junior suit. It's within walking distance from the Old Town. The hotel rents parking spaces at a neighbor parking lot, where the guests can park their cars overnight until check-in time next day. It costs €7 or €8 per day. Even though the hotel is located on a busy street, it is quiet. The staff is very helpful. They recommended us an awesome restaurant Vigante just around the corner - pork ribs and pork knuckle!

You can't park in front of the hotel entry to unload your vehicle. You need to park on the street for 15 minutes, then run to the reception, fill the forms and get your voucher to enter the parking lot, where Hotel Viktorija rents some places. You will have to carry your luggage ca. 300 m.

Good value for the money, Kind staff, we are generally happy with our stay there, no issues whatsoever.

The location is good but if you will spend most of your time in the old town like we did, keep in mind it's a 20-30 minute walk to there. There are bus stops nearby though. But in good weather it's a nice walk. The hotel was probably a good one in the past but now the amenities are just old. They try to maintain it in a good shape, but you can feel it's old and needs a renovation. It was clean but some things are just worn out and old and didn't give the sense of cleanliness, especially in the bathroom, and the furniture.

The hotel is in a beautiful art nouveau style building - the original large apartments have been turned into ordinary hotel rooms, you can still see some details telling about the original room plan. Nothing exceptional, but a good 3 star hotel with basic facilities. Located outside the old city centre, which may be a plus or a minus depending on your preferences. Tram and bus stops are nearby, though, and public transportation is both cheap and functional. Private parking is available for an extra fee. Friendly staff, 24/7 reception, clean room with a big comfortable bed were A+.

The hotel is located at a busy street, so noise from the traffic may be a problem in the lower floors if you're not used to it. It didn't disturb us since our room was in the uppermost floor, but just in case, ear plugs are recommended. Some parts of the hotel are slightly outdated (and could use a lick of paint or a few screws), but it's more a question of aesthetics than functionality.

The location of the hotel was good and easy to find. Around 20min walk to the main train station and old town, easy access to pharmacy, restaurants, bars, cafe etc. The hotel is in an old building but it was clean and rather well soundproof. I booked a twin room (which was the only choice when I booked) but I got a single room, which I don't really mind as I was travelling alone. Decent size for a single room, furniture and facilities are a little dated but serve the purpose. Kettle, hairdryer are available but need to request at the reception. 24h reception and bar at the main lobby. Basic, but good value for the price paid.

Facilities were older than I thought, but did not really affect the quality of stay. Need to go to the reception to ask for kettle and hairdryer.

The room was spacious and warm. This is essential because it was January, in Latvia, where they are famous for the cold. I was able to look out the window while it was snowing beautifully, and I was in a comfortably warm room. I found it very convenient price-wise, too. And it is a central location, literally next door to a supermarket and close to various food places.

There really isn't much to complain. One day the staff called the room phone and then knocked on the door, despite having the "do not disturb" sign hanging on the door. They were specifically seeking to clean rooms, despite the room being clean and me having put the sign there because I wanted to sleep during the day. It wasn't in the morning, though, but more like afternoon. I wasn't very tired anymore, just relaxing, so they didn't really bother me.

The room was impressively spacious and furnished with a comfortable touch. Despite the evident age of the structure, the interior elements such as walls, windows, doors, and furniture were functional, albeit showing signs of wear. One standout feature was the 24/7 bar, a convenience that enhanced the overall experience. Additionally, the bed surpassed expectations, offering unparalleled comfort compared to previous stays in both four and five-star hotels. An undeniable highlight of Viktorija was its affordability. The rooms were priced reasonably and offered excellent value for money.

However, the lack of adequate heating was a notable downside, particularly during colder months. Guests may find the rooms uncomfortably cold, posing a potential issue for winter stays. Furthermore, the noise from the outdoor street, especially during weekends, was a significant disturbance. While weekdays were relatively peaceful, the influx of cars and motorcycles disrupted the tranquility, detracting from the overall relaxation experience.
