I have no idea what I was expecting when I got to the hotel due to the reviews that I had read, but I really liked my room. The rooms were very clean as was the rest of the hotel, and definitely value for money. As a solo traveller (18 Female) I was concerned that I wouldn’t feel safe on my first solo trip abroad, but this wasn’t the case at all. The reception staff were very polite and made me feel very welcome. Checking in and out was an extremely fast process too, in comparison to some other hotels I’ve stayed at. The hair dryer worked wonders too which I was not expecting at all considering hotel hairdryers are usually terrible. The shower was a great pressure and the water was lovely and warm. I was also spoilt for choice on plugsockets, I think I had 12 all together.

The was a little bit scary so I chose to go up the stairs (4th floor though, it was rough.) The halls were creepy and the floors creaked but that’s nothing major, I just watch too many scary tiktoks. Really the only negative things I can say about the hotel is the toilet made a racket throughout the night, it didn’t keep me up or anything believe me after all those steps I was out almost once I hit the unbelievably comfy bed, if I had the luggage I’d of brought the pillow home too cause I slept for 14 whole hours. However as someone who needs a sisi every 30 minutes hearing water trickling isnt great. There was also no air conditioning and in April I was sweating cobs and I couldn’t sleep with the windows open cause you’d get the occasional tosspot racing down the road.

The hotel is in a beautiful art nouveau style building - the original large apartments have been turned into ordinary hotel rooms, you can still see some details telling about the original room plan. Nothing exceptional, but a good 3 star hotel with basic facilities. Located outside the old city centre, which may be a plus or a minus depending on your preferences. Tram and bus stops are nearby, though, and public transportation is both cheap and functional. Private parking is available for an extra fee. Friendly staff, 24/7 reception, clean room with a big comfortable bed were A+.

The hotel is located at a busy street, so noise from the traffic may be a problem in the lower floors if you're not used to it. It didn't disturb us since our room was in the uppermost floor, but just in case, ear plugs are recommended. Some parts of the hotel are slightly outdated (and could use a lick of paint or a few screws), but it's more a question of aesthetics than functionality.

The room was spacious and warm. This is essential because it was January, in Latvia, where they are famous for the cold. I was able to look out the window while it was snowing beautifully, and I was in a comfortably warm room. I found it very convenient price-wise, too. And it is a central location, literally next door to a supermarket and close to various food places.

There really isn't much to complain. One day the staff called the room phone and then knocked on the door, despite having the "do not disturb" sign hanging on the door. They were specifically seeking to clean rooms, despite the room being clean and me having put the sign there because I wanted to sleep during the day. It wasn't in the morning, though, but more like afternoon. I wasn't very tired anymore, just relaxing, so they didn't really bother me.

The room was impressively spacious and furnished with a comfortable touch. Despite the evident age of the structure, the interior elements such as walls, windows, doors, and furniture were functional, albeit showing signs of wear. One standout feature was the 24/7 bar, a convenience that enhanced the overall experience. Additionally, the bed surpassed expectations, offering unparalleled comfort compared to previous stays in both four and five-star hotels. An undeniable highlight of Viktorija was its affordability. The rooms were priced reasonably and offered excellent value for money.

However, the lack of adequate heating was a notable downside, particularly during colder months. Guests may find the rooms uncomfortably cold, posing a potential issue for winter stays. Furthermore, the noise from the outdoor street, especially during weekends, was a significant disturbance. While weekdays were relatively peaceful, the influx of cars and motorcycles disrupted the tranquility, detracting from the overall relaxation experience.

The location and the personal are great! Very friendly! The building itself is old but very nice one! Internet, hot water, refrigerator, plate with two glass was there. TV as well. The bed for me was comfortable. For people who are doing city or country touring and short trips is very fine!

Definitely the bathroom have to be generally renovated! Everything it works and is in use, but still like in 90's. I don't have a problem with that, as I can handle it, but still, this is a thing that it has to be better done! Yes, a hot water kettle and few packages of tea/ coffee in the room would be slso very pleasant while chilling in the room. At the end these nowadays cost nothing.

The room and bathroom had everything you need and were clean. While the room isn't anything fancy or extraordinary, that was no issue since I visited the city throughout the day. The staff at the reception were fluent in English and very nice and helpful. One can walk to the old town from the hotel, but there is also a tram stop right around the corner. There are also many supermarkets and shops nearby.

I had a room facing the road so there was a bit of noise coming from outside during the day. At night however, there was no issue with noise. The hooks provided to hang up the towels could be better.

Private room with bathroom inside. There is a shop right under the hotel and a couple of bus and tram stations around it. It was a bit old but clean.

Not a central location. The staff wasn't in a mood, we arrived 20 minutes before the check-in started and they didn't like it. We had to wait, which is ok - they have rules, but when we asked for the individual prices of the rooms that we booked, in a not very polite tone we were told that for some reason we have paid almost nothing due to my booking discounts, but their rooms are not that cheap - they kinda looked offended by this for some reason.

Room was clean and nice. The hotel is huge, and it was a little confusing to find the room. The room was quiet and comfortable. Would recommend.

Hotel was in a good location, located about a 15 minute walk from the main Riga bus (for the airport) and train stations. The neighbourhood was quite vibrant, with lots of decent bars and food places round every corner. Hotel was great value for money, and the staff were friendly. Also had a couple of fridges in the room which was handy. Flight was delayed, so didn't check in till gone 1am, but reception was staffed 24/7.

At such great value, it was perhaps a bit on the budget side, with no frills, but everything worked fine and it was functional. Room was a tad warm as there was no air con, so had to have the window open which did let in quite a bit of noise, but we were using it solely to get our heads down, so it wasn't too bad for us.

Lovely hotel with exceptional value for money. It's a little way out of the old town, about 30 min walk but the Bolt taxis are perfect for just dropping where need to be so location wasn't an issue. It was clean and comfortable and had a supermarket next door which was great for supplies. Staff were really helpful and there is a bar on site which also did coffees. Would definitely stay again for the value.

One of the beds was very squeaky so every time you moved it was a bit annoying
