Friendly staff, clean, cosy- it felt like a student house. We even got a garden! Very good location. Walking 10 min central station-bus station, and walking 10 min old city centre. Hostel is quiet, no loud people or traffic (if you close the window at night).

No lockers big lockers available in room, only very small ones. Limited storage space in room.

Stayed here years ago.. still good but a little tried looking.. could do with a refresh.. staff nice.. free tea and coffee.. late check out time and use of common areas if needed is a bonus if late flights, bus etc Good but small kitchen but fully equipped with everything you need to make a simple meal. Bedroom nice and cosy with a little kettle and good heating, but only needed it on for a short time as weather was lovely and warm Close to train station and shops and not too far from Old Riga.. airport bus only a ten minute walk. Nice coffee shops close by. All in all good value for money and a nice stay for a few days in beautiful Riga

You can eat apples or drink water or cola for free as like as you want in common room! The common room is very clean and comfy. It has great atmosphere, especially during nighttime. Toilet and bathrooms’ are also clean all the time. The workers are something else 😄. They are so nice and friendly. I like all of them very much. Such a good people! I can recommend this place to everyone! 😊

The only downside is that the bunk bed creaks a little when you lie on the top bunk.

The reason I ended up here in the first place, was that they had an outdoor sitting area. Almost nobody has. Friendly English speaking staff checked me in. I had room 22, which had this leaning top floor roof thing, but the room was just so cute. They have packed the bunch inside this room, with a desk, drawers, shelves, mirror, hooks and a comfortable chair with a coffee table. Very practical room, suitable for longer stays. Spotless clean nice common bathrooms, just 2 rooms per bathroom. The kitchen was a bit small, but this is Riga. Many people don't cook themselves here. I really liked that each room had its own space for storing food. Also there was ample space in the fridges. The WiFi was excellent.

No WiFi in the outdoor sitting area.

Central Hostel in Riga offers a great option for budget travelers. The location is one of its main highlights, being centrally situated and within walking distance to Avotu, one of the new trendy areas in Riga. The rooms are clean and functional, with comfortable beds for a good night's rest. The staff is friendly and helpful, providing useful information about the city. The common areas super cozy with a kitchen available for guests to use. I will definitely be back! :)

Nothing not to like

Around 15mins walk from the central station. The female dorm room was super cozy, as were all the common areas and had a homey feeling. Complimentary tea/coffee, clean, friendly and helpful staff, good value for money- I couldn't have asked for more for my one night's stay.

The kitchen was rather small- only 3 chairs at the table and I imagine it might get quite crowded at busy times, but I wasn't cooking, just having a coffee, so it wasn't an issue for me.

The rooms are small but perfect for one or two nights. The beds are clean and , if you follow the rules, all is safe. They have a common kitchen with all kind of tools, but we had no time to use it. I know it from my previous stayings in this hostel. The bathroom is clean and was warm/ hot water all the time. There is quiet on the halls and people are, usually, respectfull.

We arrived by bus around 12 and were not allowed in the room until 15. It was cold wind outside and I have asked for aplace to stay and send my messages, which was not possible. I had to do that in the courtyard, where it was very very cold. After 3 pm we were given the room and all went well.

I stayed in a room with three colleagues and it was rather comfortable. This was our first night in Riga. Because of the central location of the hostel we could easily walk around and explore the city. For example, O-ring shopping centre and the railway station are several minutes of walking distance from this hostel.

It was not well communicated how the password system for the doors works. So, some of the colleagues had a challenge of entering in the evening. However, I am aware that this was a mutual responsibility: both parties should have checked if one or the other side understands the password system.

It was great that I did not have to share the room with anyone. Internet worked perfect, the kitchen was clean and well equipped with everything I expected, even with coffee - which I did not expect but largely enjoyed. It was a quiet facility, clean and welcoming. I am going to book there all the times I will go to Riga. It is close to the station, the bus station and the Old Town, but it is in a friendly neighborhood. Lots of shops around. And a little backyard.

The staff was a little bit upset, generally speaking, not on me. One of them, still, was very helpfull and smilly. But the overall offer was more than in average hostels and the price makes you want to return. And I plan to return to Riga, anyway.

Owner was very nice, showed me around the hostel during check-in. Room was very spacious including table and chairs. Backyard area with tree shade. Close to mall, transport hub, market and old town cafes.

Kitchen was very small. I had to remember separate entry codes for main gate and room entry. Car noise from street window due to stone pavement so kept windows closed at night.
