As a couple with a 5 year old we found Auberge La Veranda the perfect place to stay during our mini break to Luxembourg. We arrived a good few hours before the usual check-in time as our flight was early but the staff were very helpful and facilitated an early check in which allowed us to take a nap/shower before heading in to the city centre to explore...We had to wait an hour or so before the room and was ready so we ate in the restaurant attached to the accommodation which was lovely. The room was nice with a sliding door into an extra room with bunk beds for our child. The beds were very comfy and there was lots of storage space and tea/coffee making facilities. Bathroom /shower facilities good too. The accommodation was a few minutes walk from many bus stops and from the tram which brought us in to the city centre in approx 10/15 mins. Breakfast was top quality with lots to choose from. We let the accommodation know that my husband requires gluten free and there was lots of gluten free bread/cakes waiting for him.

Very comfortable room with a kettle, tea & coffee & drinking chocolate. Excellent breakfast included, terrific Italian restaurant downstairs. Lovely staff. Bus stop nearby & all public transport in Luxembourg is free so a bonus.

Very late check-in at 5.30pm. No baggage drop-off option either was a big problem for me as I was on foot & it never crossed my mind to check until it was too late. A bakery/coffee shop directly opposite meant I had somewhere to sit while I waited & it had a toilet so a life-saver. The reasons given were fair enough I suppose & wouldn't be a problem if you have a car. This was the only negative in an otherwise great stay.

Cosy, quiet room with great amenities including a mini fridge and tea/coffee facilities & a TV. Restaurant downstairs had a great selection of Italian foods of great quality. Seems like a small local hotel and I was made to feel extremely welcomed and safe by the staff despite some language barriers. Breakfast was included. Would stay again!

Check in was very late in the day, 17:30! I arrived in Luxembourg at 11am which meant I had to carry my luggage around on a very hot day with nowhere to freshen up. Would’ve been nice to have been able to drop my luggage before check in. Location was not central, this was no real problem to me because Luxembourg is a small-ish city.

We were greeted and although we arrived outside the booking in hours they were able to show us to our room. The person carried our bags up to a nicely air conditioned room. The bed was 2 twin beds pushed together but that was fine. I dropped an earplug on the floor in the night and was dreading looking under the bed but it was immaculate. We were in the corner with 2 windows with pull down shutters outside and curtains (could’ve fitted to the wall better as it was quite light). The bathroom was nice and modern. Breakfast was a good continental variety with plenty being topped up. Accessible was through the restaurant during opening hours or another door outside of this time. The area felt very safe and there were good transport links to the city, even though it was relatively far out.

It was noisier at night and there was not good soundproofing between rooms, so I just used earplugs.

Location is very good - a residential area but within easy reach of the city centre. Plenty of buses into the city within 5 mins walk. 10 mins walk reaches the tram which takes you into the city and directly to the airport. The room was a good size with very good air conditioning - very valuable in a heat wave. The bed was very comfortable. The selection at breakfast was quite good although the coffee was excellent. The property has an Italian restaurant in which the quality of food was very good.

We arrived quite late (around 8–9 PM), but still managed to have a great and delicious dinner at the hotel restaurant. We also parked our car in front of the hotel/restaurant - the parking is free from 6 PM to 8 AM. We liked the room overall - we had everything we need. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was also pretty good.

The only issue was that the top bunk bed didn’t have any safety guard, so we were afraid to let our child sleep up there, even though he really wanted to. I’d suggest adding some kind of protection there just in case.

Big room with a double bed and a bunk bed + option for an extra bed, so sleeps up to 5 people. Comfortable beds. Train station only a 5min walk away -> 5min train ride into the old town of Luxemburg. Proper blinds and blackout curtains at the windows. Hot water jug and tea / coffee in the room.

No hooks for towels in the bathroom. Breakfast had lots of sweet prepacked things but the selection of fresh things was limited. Plain rolled oats and plain unsweetened yoghurt would have been nice, especially when travelling with small kids.

Value for money as accommodation locally is expensive. Free public transport made it convenient to get a 2 stop tram to the train station, 4 stop tram to the city centre or tram to the airport. The room was clean and spacious. Very good heating/AC unit. Breakfast was plentiful: numerous pastries, cereal, fruit, yoghurts, ham, salami, cheese, muffins, cake, brownies, breads and jam. As well as tea, code and juice.

Be aware it is closed from 3pm to 5pm so you cannot check-in or drop/collect bags at this time.

The family bnb feeling, the accommodation is above the restaurant and you have a back door access to the restaurant. The room is clean, everything is good. They even do daily room service if you need. Close to public transport, very easy to get to town especially transport is free in Lux

Some lights in the room didn’t work, and they close at 1500, reopens at dinner time. If it wasn’t because one of us arrived early to check in, I don’t know what will happen. But I suppose they communicate with you to check what time you arrive and would make sure you get the key?

the owenr/host was terrific, helping us with luggage and telling us about how the hotel functions. The room was fine, clean, and the bed was comfy! The bathroom was also roomy; the shower was generous in size and had lots of hot water. The breakfast was delicious, with nice pastries, yogurts, fruit, coffee, tea & juice. We had 1 dinner in the restaurant, which was quite good, with a delicious bottle of wine.
