breakfast was superb! delicious and cafe view overlooking the beach was awesome! beach was clean and nice - windy and by the pool. everything was perfect! congrats Mercure Penang. will come again

parking - limited, however you can park at next building which was quite near room - room cleanliness a bit disappointed. Dust below the bed and every corner of the room. Carpet was dusty as well can i developed minor allergies due to dust in the room with previous guests hair on the carpet . Hope to monitor your house keeping staff

Book a day before and requested for honeymoon decor for our room with little to no hope that it would get done BUT they managed to decor it last minute & I was very happy they tried their best! Another thing we enjoyed is the FOOD! There are variety of food! As a foodie and fussy eater, i can say this is one of the best breakfast hotel i've ate. Nasi lemak, bread pudding, croissant and u name it! Semua ada tak kedekut langsung! OMG please continue doing your best Mercure👍 definitely will come again!

Hotel room need upgrading, decor is tacky and kinda old style

The smoke smell inside my room. On the first day, I complained to the staff and they did a good job to identify which room had been smoking and the smell were gone. The next day, the smell came back and I complained to the staff (diff staff from yesterday), she just said I'll checked and looked like she did not take any actions on my complaint. The smell was still there when I checked out. We need to open our windows the whole time to lessen the smell coz it was too strong. :(

The hotel lobby is open-air and windy always. The hotel is at the seaside. You can go for early morning walks to see the sunrise. They have BBC channel on the hotel TV. Luggage storage services are available before check-in. Comfortable environment for sleeping. A designated tap providing clean, filtered water. Thick curtains to block out the noise and the bright sunlight from outside. Tiny gym with an outdoor view. Poolside chairs for relaxation.

The noise from the function rooms at night, but it does not bother me much. There is no soya bean milk available in the breakfast buffet. Far from georgetown.

Bed was extremely comfortable ...my wife wished we could bring home the mattress and pillows. Superior King - Ocean View which we reserved was a reasonably nice room with a view of the ocean. Room size is acceptable and room amenities provided. I being a birthday celebrant was surprised with the Hotel management's complimentary "red velvet slice cake" placed on the coffee table with a birthday card. Thank You !! The Hotel staffs were all courteous and friendly including the security guards positioned at the hotel entrance/lobby.

Bad experience during my 1st day of breakfast at Ombak Cafe. A dollop of "aircond dust/dirt" dropped onto the table (near my plate) whilst having my meal. Maintenance dept should have their team to inspect and clean the aircond outlets to avoid these "surprises". 1st day breakfast...choices are not impressive. Bad encounter with the Egg Counter (no line chef for almost 20mins) Breakfast started at 7am. My wife was told that the " mushrooms " for the omelette which she ordered ran out just upon cafe opening hour ((how can this be ??)) Food on the buffet line was not replenished for almost 20mins. Faulty room safety box not functioning indicates " error " at all attempts.

Room view was magnificent and extremely friendly staff to take care of us.

Separate pool for children would have been better as they tend to take over forcing adults out. Wider assortment of food would have been better, with some English selection. Evening meal was very expensive and again needed some English selection. The price was far too expensive which forced quests to look elsewhere. Alcohol was too expensive we understand this is a Muslim country, but we aren't Muslim and enjoy a drink when on holidays.

Love love the room so spacious. The Gym and the pool is excellent Love The seaview restaurant Fast and efficient service whenever you request something.

(Can be more friendly, Greetings and smiles to welcome your guests during check in ) -Food taste- Perhaps can be improve a bit especially during breakfast ( price was ok but I hope you can put some good quality sausages ,butter and baked beans ) sausages so rubbery and taste like left over meat . Perhaps you should be concerned about hygiene especially when you handle dairy products , please don't serve open cube butter at the buffet counter.I saw a kid was poking her finger at the butter. Small ants crawl around palm sugar syrup at the dessert counter during lunch .

I like your hotel very much. Mercure Penang beach. The hotel room and environment are clean and comfortable... I like the view of the sea outside the window of your hotel room...👍The seaside and the beach are very relaxing and comfortable... We had a room with a wonderful view. The picture windows afforded a gorgeous view of the beach, the sea and the land across the horizon. Breakfast was pretty good, the range of dishes available more than adequate. I liked the beach because it was (surprisingly!) clean. We could take walks along the beach without fear of rubbish washing up on the shore. A very pleasant beach, even better than what Ferringhi beach is currently like with all the wave erosion.

Can't really say anything I didn't like. The hotel lived up to my expectations.
