The Pines hotel itself is actually a great place to stay while travelling in Melaka town. This accomodation is a privately owned hotel unit, so the layout is the same as the hotel rooms. - spacious room - cool aircond - got main bed & sofa bed - good water pressure at level 10 - all area cleaned up - got bath gel & shampoo - 2 set of plate + cutleries + cup + glass - Gloo dishwash liquid - 2 set of body + face towel, - clothing iron (provided upon request) - 1 access card for hotel lift usage

I didnt ask the owner since it was stated provided: probably only our unit doesnt have these: - fridge - trash bin & plastic Other than that, all good. Worth the price charged (rm30 cleaning fee will be imposed together with the room rate later)

Location was ok. Very cheap to get a grab into old town. The apartment was clean and well appointed. Check in was ok

Didn't realise it was a private apartment till we got there, so you can't use the staff in the lobby and everything is done by WhatsApp. Disappointed that I requested to shorten our stay 2 weeks prior to staying in the hotel but had no reply. I followed this up with WhatsApp and emails which initially had no reply till I got bookings.com involved. Management finally replied and said they wouldn't refund my last night as the booking was electronic which is just ridiculous. That was a disappointing end to what was otherwise a satisfactory stay.

I am very satisfied with my stay. After reading the comments, I didn’t know what to expect. First of all, this is a 100% honest review. Check-in went smoothly without any issues, and all the information was clearly provided via WhatsApp. On the first day, the WiFi wasn’t working, which was disappointing because the mobile signal in the apartment was very weak. However, the next day, they provided me with a separate WiFi device, and I was able to start working without any problems. Yes, some additional communication via WhatsApp wasn’t in English, but with the help of Google Translate, I managed everything just fine. The TV worked with YouTube and Netflix, plus I could connect my laptop (which is rare), but you need to bring your own HDMI cable (I had mine). The hotel staff was also very friendly and helpful. During the day, the pool was completely empty – just for me! :D The shower had hot water with good pressure. The best place I’ve stayed at!

Couple of times the staff changed the wifi password and also the locker password. So it was bit painful to contact the staffs to get the new password while returning the keys during the checkout. They also changed to room password without informing me and I was locked out of the room for sometime. But I understand it was a miss communication as I had extended my stay. They were prompt to resolve the issues once I could contact them.

Excellent location. Very safe and within short distances from places of interest. The tariff was very reasonable. Located inside the Pines Hotel. Some of the rooms within the hotel have been sold to private investors who rent out directly to customers. Amanjiwa 99 manages the direct customer interaction for elevator key cards, door key codes etc. via WhatsApp messages.

There was no housecleaning over the entire stay for 3 days. Fresh towels should be provided every 2 - 3 days. It would be a nice touch to provide a few packets of tea and coffee in the room.

Everynting is just perfect! The space of the room, the pool....it is so comfortable!

I have to pay for the parking space, the staff tell us to park our car in the building next to the hotel for cheaper parking charge, but it is a little bit far since we have lots of luggage to carry.

The location is just beside the famous Melacca River/Molten Village, very convenient to go everywhere else, easy to get Grab too. As my family like to walk, we walk to certain famous area. The room is clean, especially the bed with best pillows, they provide hair dryer and iron too, but no iron board, no toiletries, but they provide body liquid soap, 2 body towels and 2 face towels. The Swimming pool is clean and big, there's a children pool too. Me and my family really enjoyed our stay and fully recommended, their service is gooood!! 👍🏻

Hope they can service their Bidet Spray, the screw holder keep coming out when we want to take the Bidet Spray. The screw is loose. The mini fridge too need to be clean.

Almost everything. Loved the convenience of collecting the keys, the bed was comfy, the room was spacious, it was perfect. It was very cheap too. If the host is hosting any other places, I'd definitely choose theirs. I had questions about the parking payment and the host replied fast and was very helpful.

There were lots of parkings available, but we had to take the elevators twice (once to go down from the parking building, then once to go up to our room) because the parking and the hotel were two different buildings and weren't connected even though they were just right next to each other. There was nothing else that was an inconvenience to us other than this.

The room was extra large and the bed wonderfully comfortable. The location was incredible. Right by the river walk and so many eateries nearby serving a huge range of local cuisines at local prices. There is even an open air bar/food hall right next door overlooking the river. It’s only a short walk into the centre of town. And right across the river from Kampung Morton. The absolute highlight for me was the floor to ceiling window. One entire wall was a window with amazing views over the city, the river, the kampong and the ocean. I could sit for ages watching life outside from our 19th floor room day and night both very different.

The thing that took me by surprise was the check in process. I thought it would be like a hotel but was more like an Air BnB where you have to hunt for the key card. But I was sent very good information. It just took me by surprise. Overall we loved our stay.

The place is very comfy and very clean. The bed, in particular, was super comfortable—I had one of the best sleeps I've had in a long time.

The fridge could use a fix as it's not cooling properly. There's no Netflix, which may be a downside for those who like to unwind with shows. If you're coming by car, parking can be a bit of a hassle. You’ll need to park at the opposite building, which costs up to RM10 per day. Overall, a lovely and cozy place to stay—I would definitely come back!
