We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at R Palazzo Boutique Hotel. It’s a beautiful hotel with stunning views. It’s in a quieter area outside of Kotor and away from crowds which suited us perfectly. The swimming pool was fabulous, the towels for the pool and beach towels are provided by hotel. The staff were amazing - very kind and very helpful. The music is playing in pool/restaurant area (I’ve read few negative comments about it) - we loved the music, it plays in the background and certainly isn’t that loud. Yes, the hotel is near the road but so are most of the hotels in that area, surely people check the location before booking the hotel. It didn’t bother us in the slightest, you really cannot hear any traffic in the room. The air conditioning worked very well and we appreciated that a lot especially when it was 42 degrees outside. Plenty of parking spaces- few spaces at the front and spaces at the back of the hotel, so we had no issues parking the car. Breakfast - more than sufficient. Plenty of choice from continental breakfast with addition choice of omelette or poached eggs; coffee made by staff - all you need is to ask and choose. We would definitely return. Great location away from the business and bustle from Kotor. Amazing views and helpful staff. Comfy clean rooms and beds. Breakfast was amazing!

The prices of drinks at the hotel bar are extortionate. The same as central london prices. It would be great if the prices were a bit more reasonable then I think a lot more people would drink them. Music playing constantly at breakfast / in the hotel lounge / pool was on repeat and very monotonous.

The hotel itself was great. Very new and built to a very good spec. Great security features, comfortable furnishings and all amenities were fab. The location is UNREAL. The views of the bay are unrivalled, if you want the views? Pick this hotel. The staff are some of the best I have ever encountered at a hotel. Catered to everything you could possibly want or need, looked after you at every moment and even on our minimoon, they organised prosecco, rose petals and muffins! Nikola - you are a credit to the hotel, thank you for everything! The pool is cold but great, there's a few seats around the pool and on the rooftop if wanted, and the hotel also provide towels if you want to take some to the beach. It's just under an hour walk to Kotor old town, or a 10 ISH minute taxi, depending on traffic. I truly cannot recommend this hotel enough, thank you for making our minimoon so special!

If I had to be nit picky - the TVs on the walls can be very loud, and our neighbours woke us up several times in the early morning as you can hear them through the walls. Also, the hotel won't serve food after breakfast until 3, but won't let you eat outside snacks unless you're in your room - just a bit frustrating if you fancy a snack between 12-3!

Stunning view of the bay, clean and new facilities, great soundproofing, exceptional customer service (special thanks to Nikola who was extremely diligent and informative before and during the check in process, and Burkay who served our breakfast very attentively and with a smile and an upbeat attitude). The jacuzzi on the roof with a view of the sea that stunning is a special feature worth trying. The standards of service are on par with those of surrounding 5-star giants, and pictures don’t do the location, view and rooms themselves justice.

Everything was exceptional.

The room was lovely, just what we needed, with a sea view balcony. The pool and amenities were excellent and the view from the rooftop was just incredible. We were a little away from the hustle and bustle which was exactly what we wanted. The staff were so helpful and friendly.

I think the only complaint was the food, we had one night of decent food and then the next night we dined in the hotel our dinner took over an hour to arrive (we only ordered one course). Due to the wait we were quite hungry so said yes to the only dessert option, a chocolate muffin, and when we got into the middle discovered it was frozen.

The staff goes above and beyond in trying to help. The room and the shower were excellent, everything is in new condition. Location is as expected - a short drive from Kotor center, a short walk from an "unrecognized" beach and a short drive from a "recognized" beach. Breakfast was excellent - many options beyond eggs and coffee - also pastries, yogurts, fruit, and many more. Infinity pool is impressive

Parking is a bit strange - a few (4) places in front of the hotel (hard to turn southbound). A few more parking places require a very steep driveway (and parking....) The pool is a bit small (8.5m), and opens only 11am.

Breakfast very good, as are facilities and staff are very attentive. Location is good with some nice restaurants located around and not too far walk from kotor old town.

The hot tub strips all jewellery of its shine, i think due to the high chlorine content. Unfortunately there is no warning and this has not happened before, therefore if you are going to use the hot tub ( which is great) take off all jewellery before as unfortunately i can’t repair. Dinner meals could also be better, expensive for quality of food but breakfast is very good :)

Lovely hotel and excellent staff. Very clean and comfortable. Nice sitting out area and swimming pool. Amazing views Room was a decent size and plenty of storage for clothes etc. Bathroom excellent as was the shower. Couldn’t really fault anything. Breakfast had everything you needed plus an excellent freshly made omelette every day.

Rather steep slope or set of stairs to enter the hotel but a minor point. Would have liked a kettle in the room but again a minor point.

This is definitely the best place to stay in Montenegro if you want to visit Kotor, Budva and other towns. Very quiet and clean property with spotless rooms. The view are breathtaking! We enjoyed coming back to relax in the pool after a long day sightseeing. It is definitely perfect for a couples getaway. The staff were amazing and very attentive and always helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

Not staying longer

What can I say? This hotel was the perfect base for an amazing week in Kotor Bay. Large, clean, modern rooms with the most amazing sea views I have ever seen. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The staff were AMAZING - so friendly, helpful, went out of their way to make our stay special and always smiling. They helped with excursions / taxis / locking doors with keys left in rooms / anything we threw at them was dealt with so professionally, it was sad to say goodbye to them. Didn’t want to leave - should say it all! Thank you all there who made our stay so special!

Would have been nice to be able to get lunch there - breakfast finished, then you couldn’t get any food there until the evening. There is a store some ten minutes walk away but had to make our own sandwiches a couple of days whereas we’d happily have bought some at hotel had they been available.
