Our junior suite room was a fantastic size and very clean and light. Samir and the other lady were really friendly and welcoming. A birthday cake was organised, airport transfers and a private trip to Atlas mountains. The main square and souks is easy to find and a straight forward walk. Breakfast was nice and they had coffee which was a plus. We were lucky enough to stay during a festival called Ashura and the locals around the riad welcomed us in to join their celebrations, we felt safe in the area. Cute roof terrace area, we were not told about at check in but knew it was there from the booking description.

Arriving back late at night made us feel a little like we were in trouble with the night staff. We hadn't experienced this before on holiday, thats the only negative we had at dar charkia

We had a lovely stay at Dar Charkia. The location of the riad is perfect — tucked away in a calm, quiet street but just a short walk from all the main attractions in the medina. Our room was spacious, very clean, and comfortable, with a large bed that we really appreciated. We also enjoyed relaxing on the terrace, a peaceful spot to unwind. One small note: the bed sheets weren’t 100% cotton, which made it feel a bit warm at night, but it was manageable. As for breakfast, while everything was fresh and the ladies serving it were incredibly kind and gentle, we would have loved a more generous offering with more Moroccan specialities to truly experience the local flavors. Overall, a beautiful riad in a fantastic location with great hospitality.

Arrived by transfer organised by the hotel, were told by the driver there would be somebody waiting to walk us from the main road to the riad. This happened, however when we arrived at the riad, the man asked for €15 despite only being a 2 minute walk. When we declined he went inside to tell the staff which made us feel very uncomfortable. No water in the room. Light fittings missing and not working. Noisy boiler in our room which came on regularly, sometimes keeping us awake during the night.

My friend and I stayed here in June and we had such a pleasant experience. A peaceful oasis away from the bustling medina & the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We had dinner the night we arrived and it was delicious with generous portions, would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to have a quite night at the Riad. My friend said the pool was the perfect temperature. We loved the location, right at the entrance to the medina and a short walk to Bacha coffee. It can be a little tricky to find at first but you get used to it quite quickly. The alleyway to get to the Riad may feel intimidating at first but the people and children we passed were always said hello and were friendly. We never felt unsafe. If you return late at night you will need to knock loudly so they can hear you.

Overall we had a great stay however we did find the beds to be very firm and the air conditioner struggled to cool the room down however I will definitely stay here again, maybe not in the middle of summer.

I loved everything about this Riad, it was pretty, quaint and relaxing. The staff at the hotel were friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us! I was traveling with a one year old and they couldn't be more helpful and loving towards her. Our room was spacious, the bed and pillows were both very comfortable and we had everything we needed in our room. The location was fantastic as we could walk to most places we wanted to visit within the medina and was easy enough to get a taxi from the nearby road. It was a very quiet Riad which made it very relaxing and peaceful, at breakfast we were presented with small plates of food which was delicious. I would recommend to anyone and I would 100% book again for my next visit to Marrakech! :)

No negatives

The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms are spacious too. The staff are lovely and very accommodating. Overall nice property with homely vibe it is peaceful. The location is amazing it is close to the city buzz but on a quiet side road. Takes only 5-10 minutes to get to most places. We really enjoyed our stay here overall definitely would recommend for families.

Only down side is the breakfast options are limited and they have similar breakfast everyday. You can request more food if you need. The swimming pool is small and not great if you want a proper swim and the water is warm.

Bit slow on breakfast when we needed to wizz out but it was all sorted out in the end. Turns out another couple turned up early and confusingly ended up with our breakfast! But hotel rapidly made us a packed breakfast to take on our trip so we were all sorted

Property is in a great location! The riad is clean, homely and has a great peaceful rooftop! The staff at Dar Charkia were so welcoming and friendly to us! I would highly recommend staying in Dar Charkia! They accommodated earlier breakfast for us on days we had activities booked. The room was big and spacious, and the riad pool area was beautifully decorated. We loved our stay in Dar Charkia.

Nothing, everything was great!

The Room was beautiful , It was just what I had hopped for a very authentic Riad with a bustling street life full of locals & Tourists mingling together . The Breakfast was a lovely start to the day with plenty of Fresh Bread ,Juice & Tea prepared on request .

Having to Leave ,I could have stayed longer

Our stay at Dar Charkia was extraordinary. Nestled in Marrakech's medina, this riad marries traditional Moroccan allure with contemporary luxury. The staff's hospitality was exemplary, providing bespoke city guidance. Our room was a haven of tranquillity, and the rooftop views were spellbinding. The breakfast offered a delightful selection of local fare. Dar Charkia is a Moroccan treasure that rendered our journey unforgettable. The staff were exceptional, friendly and cared for our family. My son was able to store his meds in the fridge and they allowed us to use the kitchen freely.
