If you're on a budget and looking for a place that's not too far from the center, Hotel Isis is less than a 5 minute walk to the free ferry that takes you straight to Central Station. Nothing fancy, but clean and decent for the price. Nice staff, everyone I interacted with was helpful and polite. Also the coffee machine in the lobby is great. The street parking is really cheap, around €9 per day or even less on Sundays.

The hotel is right next to a mosque, so during evening prayer times, parking spots are hard to find. But, honestly, it’s still pretty cheap, so it’s not a huge issue if you're planning ahead. Also there in no elevator so that can be tricky if you have big bags.

The location turned out to be very good! Short walk to the ferry boat. Quiet neighborhood. Close to a couple markets. The staff were very kind, pleasant, very helpful. And we loved the cat! Easy check in. The bathroom and shower functioned well. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom and plenty of toilet appear. They have bicycle rentals there which is very convenient. Overall, it’s good value for the money especially if you’re just using a room for a place to put your things and sleep. It had a small refrigerator in the room as well. The beds were comfortable. Slept through the night. It’s not the most sound-proof building but it was never an issue for us. Our room had a balcony which was kind of a nice bonus. Nothing special but was nice to open the doors and let the outside air in denoting the night.

I always make note of there is no drain plug in the sink. If you wear contact lens then this can be a concern. A lot of reviews complain about the steps. But steep narrow steps are common in Amsterdam. It’s not that big of a deal.

The manager was wonderful, very helpful and kindly allowed two travel worn check in early. This enabled us to make the most of that day navigating Amsterdam (quick walk to ferry-6minute across to Amsterdam central rail station) All very convenient ! We rented two bikes from Hotel Isis and tourd not only Amsterdam but enjoyed parts of Noord. Less than a two minute walk is an outstanding restaurant (Mount Everest Tandoon...excellent!!) Highly recommend Hotel Isis.. MY 18YR old son gives Isis two thumbs up!

My son and I loved it, I would tell anyone.. there is no elevator, and the steps are challenging if you have luggage... We are backpacking Europe, so the steps were not concern. Ooh..have some euro on you..bakery down street only takes cash.

This reminds me of the small family-run hotels in Turkey - very simple furnishings and dated decorations but comfortable and extremely friendly. It's a short walk to one of two ferries to Central Station and a well needed respite from the crowded center to be able to stay in a close but seemingly far away quiet suburb - plus, there are many interesting places near the Eye cinema museum nearby to discover as well. Highly recommended!

Great spot. A good base if to visit the city. 10 minute walk to the 24 hour free ferry that drops you to centraal station. Bar, coffee shop, bakery and supermarket all right beside the hotel. Small room but comfortable bed. Mini fridge included in room. As some have mentioned the room can be quite warm but the fan supplied in the room seemed to do the trick.

Space was quite tight in the room and the room could do with a bit of freshening up

Nice little basic hotel not far from Amsterdam Centraal train station ... (walking distance).. close to the city center, but nice and quite away from all the bars ... there´s a bar next door, and a café open thurs-sun with excelent brunch saturdays and sundays.. and nearby a fabulous italian restaurent - Il Pecorino ... walking distance) rent a bike at the hotel, drive round Amsterdam and eat at Pecorino... and an open air cheap swimming pool at the nearby Noorderpark

pillows are too hard and high ... gave me sour neck the rooms can get quite warm ... only fan to cool it down... not sound proff rooms ;)

Great staff, very friendly and helpful, and present 24/7. Fairly close to the train station. The neighbourhood isnt too noisy. On the plus side there are some supermarket nearby (much cheaper to buy food or drinks there instead of the markets in the city center).

A bit far from the center (20-30 minutes at least for most places), especially is you walk everywhere and you want to visit the southern limit of the historical centre (Rijksmuseum for example). Also, being on the right side of the Ij river, the choice in deliveries is a bit more constrained... finally, the walls were a bit thin, and the shower doors weren't closing completely.

We stayed at the Isis hotel for 3 nights and the experience was good. The rooms are small but spacious and always have a good temperature without the need to turn on the radiator or stove, plus there is only one metro stop to the center, which makes it very central. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience in Amsterdam and at the Isis Hotel.

The hotel was well located close to the free ferry across to the Central Station. From here one could use the bus, train and tram network. Near the hotel were several small shops and a bar. The staff were very helpful, particularly Anas.

There were things that could be improved but given the age of the suburb and hotel it redeems itself with a great location and staff.

The staff was kind, welcoming and helpful, I found my room to be a bit cold and, once I pointed it out, they immediately provided an extra heater. The room was minimalistic yet clean, towels, shower gel and hair dryer in the bathroom. 24h reception always available. Very convenient for the Noord area, 10' walking + 3' ferry / metro to the central station.
