A beautiful hotel in a perfect location, we absolutely LOVED Utrecht and our stay at The Eye Hotel. No restaurant but loads of great places to eat a few minutes walk away. Kind, welcoming staff, a dreamy bed and magnificent windows to look out of as we woke up, it’s a brilliant base to explore this beautiful city. Quirky and old with awesome details

It’s an old building with wooden floors and zero sound proofing- we could hear noise outside and everything in the stairs and hallway by our room. It really wasn’t an issue for us but some may find it annoying.

Good location, everything was reachable by foot. Public transit was also nearby. The room was nicely decorated. Overall a nice place to stay.

Some things were quite worn down, there were quite a few smaller damages and signs of use, which tainted the otherwise great looks of the room. When we arrived the room was very cold. The air conditioning, which was also used for heating, could only be turned on when you were in the room (with the keycard). It got warm eventually, but especially the first night was very cold. The room was on the ground floor and the top half of the window was fully transparent, so the people from the other side of the street could look into the room. Meaning you had to fully close the curtains when you wanted privacy, which also blocked out all light from outside. Some kind of semi transparent curtain would be useful here. Not that bad but a bit annoying and easily fixable in my opinion.

I had a very friendly welcome from the staff (and the cat concierge) and was upgraded to a large 'family' room, which was clean and spacious with natural wood floors, modern decor, big windows and plenty of natural light. And I appreciated the in-room safe, always welcome! The hotel is in a good location, an easy walk to the city centre but in a quiet, mostly residential area with shops and restaurants nearby. (Word to the wise: 'coffeeshops' do not sell coffee! ;-) )

The bathroom arrangement was a little odd, with a tiny room for the toilet but no door for the area with the sink and shower. And the artwork was kind of bizarre, with many large pieces all on the theme of eyes and visits to the eye doctor. I found it a bit disconcerting, but that's probably just me.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful. A thoughtful touch was the hotel providing umbrellas for guests to use, which we greatly appreciated. Our room was spacious with high ceilings, offering a comfortable and airy feel. Additionally, complimentary water and coffee were available at the reception. Main feature of the hotel was its excellent location.

We wanted to order breakfast in the morning but were informed it couldn't be served because we hadn't requested it the night before. This process could be improved to offer more flexibility for guests.

This was a former eye hospital, and I loved that all the decor was a nod to that. Aside from being decorated so nicely, the room was perfect. The beds were like clouds and the rain shower was amazing. We even had a small patio area off our room on the ground floor. The staff were great, very responsive when I had questions, and were so welcoming on arrival. 100% recommend the hotel. It was an ideal base for a few days wandering lovely Utrecht, and we already want to go back

Tasteful and comfortable big bedrooms, especially love those on the top floor, with very comfortable beds. The hotel is in a lovely old part of Utrecht with great cafes, restaurants and shops on your doorstep and the centre very close. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Love the history of the building and the quirky way it's honoured in the hotel's theme.

Would prefer a buffet breakfast.

A large bathtub (which is really important and makes me happy) and two Italian showers. It was a great room! Thank you for providing us with such a lovely sweet room!

The body lotion was empty and I noticed it late at night after taking a bath, so if I had noticed earlier, I might have been able to contact them and change it. It's difficult to put soap in the bathtub because it's a little far from where you put bodysoap and body lotion(can not remove it from there) . It would have been perfect if there were separate amenities such as shampoo and body lotion. it was little expensive.

Stylish hotel and stylish room. Comfy beds, nice, friendly, informal atmosphere.

We requested a twin room but got a double and were unable to change to a twin because the hotel was full. Our room was very stuffy and there was no air conditioning. There is restaurant to one side of the hotel and our room was above it. It was noisy enough that, even with earplugs, we couldn't really open the velux windows to get some air flow. As a result of this we didn't sleep that well.

The room was equipped very well: coffee + coffee machine, shower gel, shampoo, body lotion of good quality. Comfortable bed, nice bed linen, even ear plugs (and this is what one might need in the morning). The location is perfect.

I did not like the window view - it was blurred because it led to the inner corridor. Water communication in the lavatory tubes is very noisy :)

I travelled with my 3 children as a stop over. The hotel was so impressive that we could have stayed another night! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The lady on the desk even left a note in our room with where to eat and things to do when I asked her for any suggestions. The room was so clean and superbly renovated. The bed was the most comfortable ever! We will definitely come back to stay here! Thank you staff.

Absolutely nothing. Everything about this hotel was fantastic.
