Great staff. The room was modern and everything worked as it should. Beds very comfortable. Shower was excellent. The attached restaurant had Butter Chicken as a special at $25…..it was so good we had Butter Chicken two nights running! Beer was cold…brilliant!

Everything with the property was good. A great way to end our 10 day touring holiday of the South Island. Just be aware when booking prepaid that unless you put it on the booking, the hotel will use your supplied credit card for payment with a 3%surcharge for doing so. I was told that if you don’t want to incur this charge just make a note on the booking that you’ll pay by eftpos when you arrive.

The office, room service and meal service staff were friendly, helpful and professional. They collectively reflected a genuine effort to provide a high standard of service. My room was of a very high standard of cleanliness and presentation. The two evening meals I ordered via online room service were excellent, prepared as requested and delivered within a reasonable time. I am pleased to have stayed here.

One of the two washing clothe machines was out of order - I understand management was awaiting a repair technician. A second clothes dryer. Would be helpful

Great central location with friendly staff. The standard rooms are big and spacious. The bathroom was huge. For the price is great value for money for a few nights stay, perfect for my toddler and I. Heat pump was great and warmed up the rooms on a winters day. The curtain closed make the room nice and dark so that’s a win trying to do nap time with a little one. People would say it’s far away from the centre but everything is so close it’s really not far at all. My toddler loved that there were cows out the front on a neighbouring property.

Bedside plugs are a little worn as they are attached to the bedside lamps. Then reaching behind the lamps to get the plug there it looks like it hasn’t been dusted in a while. Bathroom was huge but not a lot of shelving or hooks to store items.

Family of 4 stayed (2 little kids) in one bedroom premier. Size of the unit was spacious and met our needs. Loved super big bathroom with spa bath. Everything was clean. Liked breakfast option which was $15 per adult, having said that there are not many selections available, as it's only continental breakfast at Five Stags next door - but did the job, restaurant had great cozy environment and the food was nice. Great value for money also! Would definitely come back.

I have just spent two nights at the retreat. Greeted by well present young man that kindly ran through my booking, I really appreciated the upgrade. The room as soon as I walked in smelt beautiful, was warm and well presented. Very spacious for one person loved it. I had veiw out to paddock where on the first night found cows across the way entertaining. The bed was awesome, soft, roomy and kept me warm - extra blankets supplied if you like me and just like have heaps of blankets on bed to throw off in the night lol I had an enjoyable time there not far to travel into town to enjoy thermals too. Peaceful at night. Thank you so much for the accommodation, to me money well spent and enjoyed! I will be back :)

Parking was the only problem as some other people parked in front of our studio , I git my 80years old auntie and have to park long distance walking , humbly request parking should be numbered accordingly to the property number ! Thanks kind regards Tara McCormack .

I loved the massive comfy bed. The shower had lovely pressure. Breakfast was delicious. Staff were very friendly and helpful assisting with late check in for us and we were very thankful to arrive to a well lit and warm room. The beds were made nicely and the linen was all soft and clean. Very quiet room in a great location for us to wander to breakfast easily. Parking was super easy to find and plentiful.

Overall the room/facilities were amazing and very well cleaned however the area behind the bedside tables where we go to plug in our phone chargers (the sockets in the lamps didn't work) could do with being checked for dust/hair build up more regularly. This wasn't enough to ruin anything for us and generally isn't a big complaint, just an area that could be improved.

Heat pump in room, could blast this in the cold winter nights! Came with amenities, cutlery and dishes. Staff were super friendly! Booking com said check in was 3pm - 1030pm, but actually their reception closed at 630pm. Initially quite the shock, but the hotel did email us with how to access the room, their phones are also available for after hour inquiries. Right by the mini golf and maze.

Very clean and comfortable motel room, with everything you need for a few nights stay. It felt like the rooms had been recently modernised and were very spacious. There were lots of thoughtful touches from the owners such as a selection of teas and coffee, plus biscuits. Sky TV a bonus. The location was great just a short walk into town. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. We also had a meal in the Five Stags restaurant attached which was very good, highly recommended.

Only this; on the morning we were due to check out we had NO hot water for showers. Very disappointing as everything else had been great. I mentioned this to the manager only to be told ‘We are sorry, would you like to use a different rooms shower’. My answer naturally was NO? That was weird and disappointing. We had been looking forward to the shower before our day of driving. We paid for a room that ended not having hot water. Its puts a dampener on let’s colleagues know of the place.
