This is the second time I have stayed at Bassingers Motor Lodge, in Levin. My two teenage children <17yrs and 14yrs>, were very happy with the accommodation. We were impressed with the daily cleaning and replenishing of the towels and anything else we requested during our stay. The owners and staff are approachable and very kind. My children and I were also able to wash and dry our clothes during our stay which was an absolute blessing. The location was excellent for our stay. Shops, restaurants were all very close.

The motel had a lovely appearance and was easy to find on the main road. The room was clean and comfortable. The host was very helpful when we informed her that things were missing from the room. We were lucky that our room was well away from the busy road but, downside was a rail track at back so very noisy when train passed in middle of night.

Toilet roll was on wall behind toilet (very awkward). Lots of places seem to do this so not thought through very well. Cleaners need to check more thoroughly. Things missing and the only pan was a very small frying pan which was thick with grease. Even worse, the plastic tray holding dish washing items had black mildew on it. Not hygienic!!

Great accommodation for the long weekend. Spa bath was awesome after golf and the option to cook breakfast is always good. Aircon during the winter was perfect for the colder nights. From the time we checked in and out the staff here were amazing! Left a personal item in the room while traveling back home to hawkes bay and he retrieved it asap for us. We definitely will be staying back here. Thanks for an awesome stay team!

If your a light sleeper, the traffic from the trucks and the train might not be suitable late at night. But we were both fine with this. And the single bed was pretty soft but the double bed was perfect!

We spent a week @ Bassingers over Xmas, from Melbourne. Place is extremely clean & Gavin & his team are more than accommodating to our needs. Travelling with a 6 year old, we booked the 2 bdrm apartment. Loads of room, open plan, Netflix & we'll maintained (daily). Honestly, for a week and a young boy, the space was ideal & so open and the ability to open it up & let the air flow through was a bonus. Won't hesitate to stay again 👍✔️

The hotel is very nice on the outside. Great to have a separate room and the beds were very comfortable. Really nice pressure shower.

The carpet needs a wash, dust on the heat pump, one of the plates had a little bit of dry food stuck to it. The next door room had two big vehicles which meant the carpark space outside my room was taken. Could have allowed for more condiments as we like our tea and coffee especially staying for two nights. We did ask for more and that was fine.

The second floor room was spacious and airy with lots of windows. All furnishings were new and everything was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Despite the location between hwy 1 and the main trunk railway line rail noise was tolerable.

We were relying on the kitchen so we could prepare our own food. Based on the description as a "studio," I was expecting a functional kitchen but all we got was a small fridge, microwave, jug and toaster. There was no cooktop and no oven. Tableware and silverware were exactly two of everything, no more. Making a meal required creativity and washing up between cooking and serving.

Clean; comfortable; daily servicing of unit (which is not that common anymore); all essentials provided; breakfast can be ordered if wanted. Being quite travel-weary before arriving here, I really appreciated the complimentary laundry service; supermarket close by (10 minutes' walk) it was the perfect place to regroup.

Our room was tidy, comfortable and well appointed. The location was close enough to the CBD for an easy drive but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD.

Nothing can be done about this but the train roaring past at about 6am gave us a bit of a fright the first couple of times. After that we just got used to it.

The rooms were great and the beds were so tidy and comfortable, We had the double bed in a separate room and a single bed in the lounge with the couch that could fold out to a bed as well. From the stove tops for cooking to the spa bath, heat pump and both TVs, 1 in the room and 1 in the lounge, The Lady at the reception was very friendly, helpful and informative and welcoming and I highly recommend staying here, I know we will the next time we travel to Levin.

There was nothing I didn't like about my stay here

We stayed in unit 5. This unit was tucked away in the corner and had lots of room. It was very comfortable.

Didn't realise there was a train track right at the back fence. We got a bit of a fright when the train came through in the middle of the night. Use the earplugs provided by the motel to assist with this. There was a full ashtray just outside our lounge doors. This was a wee bit off putting. Overall the unit was great though.
