Everything was comfortable, clean and lovely. The staff look after you like family, couldn’t be nicer. The hotel has a bit of an art deco theme going on which is really nice and the location is fantastic, q10 minutes walk into the centre of town , 5 minutes walk to the art gallery, museum and NZ rugby museum. loved the fridge filled with cold bottles of water you could help yourself to. Totally recommend this hotel.

The standard room is compact but it has everything you could want, bedroom/living area, bathroom separate toilet.

I was attending a function in the 25-60 person function room and managed to book accommodation in a double room upstairs. Perfect, as I could sleep onsite after the function was over. The room was very reasonable and it was totally spotless. The bathroom was so clean the shower base was mirror-shiny and attention had been paid to every part of the room's cleanliness. Bed was very comfortable and so were the pillows. Very high quality sheets. Onsite and secure parking with locked gate (which guests can unlock). I particularly liked the fridge stocked with water carafes on each floor, with a sign inviting guests to help themselves to chilled water. I would 100% stay here again! The staff were lovely, both on the phone and in person. Excellent! Thank you very much, Masonic Hotel.

Comfy spot and sooo close to the function venue I was attending. The bed was so comfy that I slept like a baby. I got to my room late at night and so sneaking tip toe to my room didn't help as it creaked along the hallway. It could be due to my weight..or the good bones of the building that was built in 1893. I would definitely stay there again. The gentleman that checked me in had a beautiful smile and welcoming presence. Pub below went over and above to find a particular wine a friend was wanting, great atmosphere 😁

This was close to the town centre, shops, and the venue for an event I attended. The staff were nice, and I was impressed with the amount of stuff available in the room like an iron with an ironing board, table and chairs, plates and cutlery, that I don't normally find in accomodations for this price range.

The rooms are above a bar, so it was a bit noisy on Saturday night.

On first appearance the building is understated - but once you are inside it is homely and very very comfortable - I was pleasantly surprised as the other motels were booked out I was expecting such a pleasurable experience - I shall be booking here from now on- having the sports pub is a bonus for drinks and snacks - which usually I have to go out for.

Parking during the day is limited but parking at the back is great and free

The person who met us was very accommodating and carried our bags up to our room as there was no lift and we were 4 elderly ladies but we were able to get up the stairs. the breakfast was in our room and replenished each day and there was more than enough for everyone.

The fact there was no lift otherwise it was one of the very best hotels we have stayed in

Colleen is a lovely hostess that is so welcoming and friendly and she went out of her way to make our stay a great experience. The hotel is extremely well presented. Our room was simple, well equipped and exactly what we needed and we would have been very happy to stay longer than the one night we had booked for so we definitely intend to book in to The Masonic Hotel again next time we visit Palmy. Thank you Colleen. You and your team clearly maintain the Hotel to an exceptionally high standard and your efforts made our short stay definitely feel like it was too short! :)

The room was absolutely prestine. The carpet passed the smell test😀. I often find that carpets are a big let down in many hotels, but I was very pressed. The room was fresh, it smelled of 'nothing', just the way I like it.

The room was a bit small, but in the greater scheme of things, it is what it is and I was traveling solo, so that was not a problem.

Great location handy to the square. The rooms are exactly as advertised, nothing fancy but a comfy bed, hot shower, and clean. Great value for money and friendly, helpful staff.

Hard to criticise. The hotel is exactly as advertised, the rooms are a bit dated but perfectly fine for a comfy place to stay.

Close to the Arena which we were participating in for the weekend Bedrooms were very comfy and clean

-Kitchenette is in the same room as the bathroom & toilet - not very ideal 😳 -Daily housekeeping did not refill our coffee which was a must for this weekend of events!
