We were quite surprised by the standard of the hotel, far better than we had expected. The room was one of the best we have had anywhere, not luxurious but very practical, everything worked, it was quiet, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom was a good size and well appointed. There was construction going on around the hotel with scaffolding, etc, but it was not noticeable inside the building

Check in was easy and plenty of parking available. There was some renovations happening but they were confined and of no nuisance. Everything was as expected for a chain hotel such as this Copthorne. Location is a couple of hundred meters from the town square which made it easy to walk to.

The rooms are a little tired so hopefully the renovations will ensure the Copthorne is refreshed. While the windows are large and provide a good view, they are single glazed and aluminum framed, so you hear anything happening outside. The main road is offset so the noise is not a major concern.

When welcomed no instructions given about how to find room or whr to park, i had to specifically ask. No info about facilities were given. Nothing in room about facilities that i could see. Also, no extra blankets. No easily visible signage on main door so took a guess that i was at Copthorne check in area.

I have read some of the other reviews, they are from people being quite precious about things. Like no treadmill for example, the expectation that this should be in a hotel gym, is very specific, and is definitely a recommendation, but not a complaint. It is a really good hotel for the price, and I have stayed in many over the years, it is better than its overall rating, and you will enjoy it, unless you have very unrealistic expectations.

Overall experience was fantastic. Check-in and out were easy and speedy. Close to everything, the food, the mall and less than 5min drive to Victoria Esplanade.

Due to renovation, there were scaffolding close by, I was not comfortable draw the curtain while open. And I can hear the noise on the next floor up. It was a bit distracting trying to sleep.

The room with the bath. Beds were super comfy. I liked the location too.

It could be nicer if they catered the buffet or breakfast menu to a lower carb diet/lower sugar diet. Omelette? I see a lot of the clientele were older and they might be in the diabetes category like me. But not everyone does offer this, so that's fair. But just worth raising in case.

Breakfast is always good. The coffee is beautiful! Staff are very professional and polite. This was a much better experience than last time as the decorating has now been completed. Very clean room and bathroom. Bed was incredibly comfortable

No bath in the room, but the shower had good pressure. Not enough teabags for 1 person. Fridge is noisy at night

The wifi did not work spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to get it to work - when it did it was intermittant. Needed the wifi. The drains in the bathroom were blocked - the shower filled up with water and the sink didnt drain - there was a light out in the bedroom

Found the beds extremely comfortable and warm. All staff were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the breakfast very much. It was very convenient to walk to the shops and leave the car safely in your carpark.

The only thing that was hard for me with a back that doesn't bend well, was trying to climb over the bath to use the shower, there were no handrails to assist me. First shower i found hard to get out it was high up, and when i went to get out the bath mat slipped on the beautiful shiny tiles, learnt very quickly i had to bend down and hold on to side off bath to get out.

First Impression.. Central to CBD, literally a 2min walk to PaknSave, Burger King and the Plaza. Reception area clean and tidy and warm. Our room felt homely, spa bath was a bonus. Breakfast was very yummy!!

ALL staff need to brush up on their customer service skills. Lack of customer care, service and appearance. Disinterested in being the face of The Copthorne. Dinning room and bar area was not inviting. We found previous guests personal belongings in our room and when we handed them back to reception, the young girl just shrugged it off, very unprofessional.
