Overall this was a great value for money option and in a good location, close to the central area of Palmerston North. Easy walking distance to the central square. Had secured private parking for the motel which was a nice bonus. Compared to neighboring accommodation options I picked this one based on having a kitchenette within the unit for similar price of other places that didn't include cooking facilities - but this my personal preference of being able to cook meals vs eating out all the time.

No major dislikes, as other reviews mentioned the room was a bit dated and walls seemed thin as could hear a neighbor talking one of the nights but was not an issue.

I must say we were pleasantly surprised as to how lovely this motel was! I loved how clean the unit was, the beds were comfortable, everything we needed was there. The staff were lovely. The shower had good pressure, the heat pump kicked in and warmed up the unit nice and quickly. The bed linen was lovely and we had beautiful crisp sheets to sleep in, there was plenty of towels - much appreciated when you have small children! The rooms were so clean and was really good value for money. Honestly, very appreciated. The carpet was farily new and lovely and soft. Just little things that go a long way.

Only a couple minor things, being a slightly older motel the windows themselves didn't actually seal properly which let a cool draft in and were only single glazed meaning could hear lots of road noise. The heat pump did not seem to want to kick in to "quiet" mode whilst sleeping so ended up easier to turn off. Also had a great laugh when I nearly flew into my husband's arms due to a horrendous banging coming from what sounded like outside only to realise it must have been the hot water pipes cooling after our amazing warm showers.

Despite arriving much later than the normal checking in time - the host met us with a smile, and had even given us a free upgrade as they felt the room set up would suit us better - which was a wonderful and unexpected surprise! Our room - was great, clean and roomy - with a full kitchen.

Just a suggestion to make the signage from the road a bit bigger and brighter as we drove straight past at first - though it was late and dark at night.

Friendly welcoming staff. Security gates at property were easy to use and felt reassured my muscle car was secure. Good location. Comfortable quiet ground floor family unit overlooking grass area. Great water pressure in the shower. Very reasonable pricing for three adults through online Booking.com. Already rebooked for another event this year and definitely rebooking for same time next year.

Unit is older although very clean. Full length mirror would be helpful.

Nice accommodation, though units are not new, room was cleaned each day, including kitchen - more than expected! Lovely open balcony, plus swimming pool just yards away. Staff extremely helpful on queries or requests, much appreciated, Usable kitchenette, though short of short of store space. Overall, works well for multi-day stopover. Thanks to all staff.

I have often stayed at the Ambassador while travelling for business, the bed is extremely comfortable great pillows as well which helps to sleep while away. The staff are also very pleasant and helpful, I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel as a place to stay of your travelling to or through Palmerston North.

Stayed two nights. Smooth easy check in, Hannah is great. The Value for money was great good amenities, super central. The twin room and bathroom being resituated before the common areas was just perfect for me

One of the cleaners brought the mood down for a minute - clean towels/rubbush liners had to be sought after asking twice but Hannah was great

Walking distance to river walkway, the Square, cafes, shops, supermarkets. Our four family groups were all accommodated. Secure parking. A safe playing area with basketball hoop and a swimming pool on site. Staff happily provided extras we asked for eg ironing board, a wedding speech printed out.

One driveway grating awaiting replacement was a hazard but we were aware of it.

Unit was clean and comfortable for a couple. Separate kitchen was great with everything we needed. Large mirror and wardrobe was helpful. Room was quiet on ground floor and property is in a handy location. Good parking close to rooms. Security gates were reassuring. Friendly staff and rebooked for next trip. Stayed multiple times and happy to stay again.

Room has everything we required. Kitchen was ideal and provided all items needed. Staff care was awesome and even when we arrived late, owner was there to meet us. Hotel was kid friendly - pool, basketball hoop and plenty of ground to play on. Tick to everything and we will be back.
