The hosts were very warm, welcoming, and helpful. They accommodated my needs and all my requests. My bed was very comfortable, and I slept blissfully in my room, with facilities very close by.

This location is set near the railway tracks and main road, but the noise is obsolete as it is soundless within the facility/building. Set in the middle of Levin and Otaki, options are available for food and shopping.

Loved the old building, filled with furnishings to suit the age and style, and well maintained. Showed hints of a grand past. Very friendly and helpful owner.

I would have loved to experience Manakau House with more guests, with an open bar and kitchen. Could have been a heap of fun. Sadly, we were the only guests.

Beautiful old Hotel full of character & tastefully decorated with xclnt self help kitchen facilities, sitting rooms & shaded outdoor area on a hot summer evening. Comfortable queen bed & room with seating, although some rooms much smaller. The host is really lovely & made sure we had all we needed

Close to highway & rail so will bring ear plugs next time

A charming place to stay, roughly half way between Levin and Otaki. Easy to get to either to find food. Less than an hour from Wellington ferry terminals but with better weather. The shared kitchenette was cosy and had everything we needed for breakfast.

Unique history. Renovated to past glory, great games area, beautiful courtyard area away from main road. Bedding 9/10!

Only detractor was road noise at bedtime. If it wasn’t warm Summer evening we could have had windows closed.

Building a great old lady that was given the decor of its period. Lots of eclectic furniture and decor. Looks like a project that has potential to be successful. Host welcoming and helpful advising a great place to get food locally.

Very kind owner let us in for late night arrival, showed us everything. Place was SO beautiful, and felt like we had to ourselves. Bathrooms were always open and available, felt like private baths. Highly recommend. This unique and stunning property. Very low price for what you get.

You can't judge a book by its cover! The inside of this historic hotel was charming, comfortable and quiet. The host gave my friend and me private rooms even though we booked a shared room because we were to get only guests in the hotel. She was very kind and thoughtful. I highly recommend - especially if you like historic buildings.

We have stayed in the Manakau hotel once before and have booked here again as we loved our previous stay. This is an absolute gem building and decor and definitely worth a visit/stay for that reason. The hosts are fabulous, we had no hassle Organising late check in and even got to park our motorbikes under cover!!!! We will be back soon for sure!!
