An easy walk to the town center and the beach. We were able to stroll down to the Saturday morning market which is full of friendly people. The motel is directly opposite a bakery/café. The bathroom/shower area was spotlessly clean. We appreciated the handrails in the shower and beside the toilet. The unit was well supplied with kitchenware.

There was only one negative but in our books, it's quite significant; we were surprised to see beautiful paua shells on the outdoor tables, which suggested they were to be used as ashtrays! (as was a common practice many years ago.) We were disappointed also that smoking was accommodated within the motel boundaries - right beneath the kitchen window. Had the people in the adjacent unit needed to sit outside and befoul the air with arsenic and carcinogenic fumes, the smoke would have drifted into our area.

The motel is within walking distance to shops, beach and a top-level golf course. The motel has a lovely pool, the staff are friendly, and it has all the facilities I needed (including a laundry). The beds are comfy and large enough to fit New Zealanders! This is my third longish stay at the motel and I will definitely be back again. This time I had mixed up the dates of my stay and had booked for one night less than I intended. The staff didn't skip a beat and just kept me in the room I had been staying in. Their flexibility and help were greatly appreciated.

The unit was beautifully clean and well equipped for cooking. The bed was very comfortable too. We appreciated that the motel was close to the town centre and within easy walking distance of the waterfront.

I didn't like the bar stools as I prefer to sit at a table to eat. There was a table outside but it was a bit too cool to sit out there in the early morning or the evening. The coffee table in the motel unit was rather old and in need of repair.

Access to the pool and ability to eat by the pool. Swing & trampoline play area. Ability to walk into town. Fridge size - most places were tiny but this had lots of fridge storage. Super friendly staff. Excellent and powerful shower. The playpark in town is huge and fantastic for all ages.

Ants! There were constantly ants in our property. We had 2 young children and the table was on the carpet so if it was raining we had to eat indoors and borrow a hoover to make sure we didn’t attract any more. It was really quiet despite being a weekend in the height of summer. There isn’t really space to put up the travel cot they have - we had my son on a diagonal half in a cupboard. I’m not sure where he was supposed to go. It was fine for the weekend but I wouldn’t want to stay more than a few nights.

Convenience and was supper oblging with early check in, was there for family Xmas lunch, so went over early to see if we could get key and leave vehicle etc, no problem it is ready and you can access. Very friendly showing us to room, amenities in room etc was appreciated.

there were a couple of old deposits in the bathroom that looked like could have been from precious guests. Seemed to be old blood stain on sheets, tucked under so not in our face while sleeping

It’s the little things. Beds and bathroom were super high quality. Linen was very expensive. It’s the difference between 4 star and 3 star. Quality glasses, nice and thick. It’s weird but the little things, the care, are what matters.

The wifi needs to be upgraded, it dropped out during the storm. At the end of the day we live in a wifi age. Don’t care about sky television, never watch it, I want fast and continuous wifi.

Loved the space of the room, convenient location - a minute walk from marina parade. Room was very tidy and the kitchen facilities were great. 2 burner hob, microwave, mini fridge with freezer and a single drawer dishwasher that was unpacked for us! A++

The fan in the bathroom was really noisy, was a bit frustrating having the flood lights outside the door but the curtains did a good job blocking it out. The parking area is very small. Was disappointed that a crib option was on the booking page but was not available when we arrived. We were able to adapt as our bubs is older but families with younger babies may not be able to. Maybe remove this as an option or invest in a portacot or 2 for families to use.

The room was clean and comfortable with all facilities working well.The fridge freezer,microwave and cooktop all most usefull.There was a dishwasher also for use.Very good supply of things for cooking with.The shower was very good.There is a heat pump which heated the room well.The beds are very comfortable with electric blankets which we didn't use as heatpump had heated the room efficiently.The T.V.has all the sky channels which gives an excellent choice to view.

The room was very attractive, neat and clean. The bed was comfortable and had an effective electric blanket. The bathroom was stocked with shampoo, shower gel, soap and tissues. Plenty of 3 point plugs in convenient locations. The kitchen was also well equipped. I appreciated the hot chocolate provided. The location is great - close to a range of eateries and to the beach. Friendly, welcoming staff.

A hairdrier would be a great addition in the bathroom please.

We loved the location; so close to the beach. Having the pool right outside our room is a real bonus. Plenty of seating outside all the rooms means you can sit back and relax while watching people swimming. The woman at the reception is very efficient and friendly.

The double bed and sofa were hard. The kitchen, dining, and lounge areas are pretty cramped. Moving around this area was a bit difficult, especially with four of us adults.
