Location just an hour from Wellington helped as shortened our travel time yet easy access to Wellington the following day . Although close to highway we were not troubled by road noise which the motel has addressed. Although an older perhaps 1960s original build the shower was a recent renovation and kitchen facilities good though the kitchen is small . Hosts helpful.

Fine as is. Google maps needed the words Otaki Motel as well as the street address with which it did not cope I think because of re design of the local roading.

This was a motel of its time. However the owners have done some upgrading and it was roomy, exceptionally clean and very comfortable. We were expecting a lot of traffic noise, however the motel was really quiet.

The bathroom area was a little small but totally functional. Lovely hot shower - although if you are over 162cm then you'll have to duck to get your head under it.

Authentic kitchen for its vintage, excellent modern bathroom and very comfortable beds. Super clean. Compact studio that easily accommodated four very tired humans and two small dogs. Staff recommended a great local restaurant for dinner and it was delicious. We love Ōtaki, the beach, and always stop here between Hamilton and Welllington to revive our spirits and enyoy its hospitality.

Very clean spacious rooms for a family of 4 with 2 young children. Perfect location as we were out and about most days visiting family near by. For families with babies the curtains are extra black out which was a added bonus for nap times lol. Nice new bathrooms and very comfy feel to both of the rooms we had.

The room was complete with good facilities, a comfy bed and good shower and nice area for our pet dog. Although the motel is a little dated everything was clean and well looked after. The staff were friendly and helpfull.

The only drawback was the rooms were a bit dated but very good value for money. We will happily stay here again.

Parking was close by, right outside room. Beds with electric blankets were comfortable 10/10., The space felt spacious 1 adult, 3 teenagers. Heat pump and TV were great for cooler season. The outdoor area through sliding doors was nice and gave privacy. Full functioning kitchen space with oven was useful. Clean, cozy, and private would go back again based on this experience.

No blind by kitchen window, where cars are parked.

Rooms were spacious and a nice combination of updated retro decor. View out to grass , trees and pūkekos was very nice. I liked the watercolour painting above the sofa, very restful & tasteful. Staff recommended nice venues for our tea.

Location is between the highway and the new expressway so a bit of traffic noise audible when windows are open.

Google maps sends you all around the mulberry bush because of new motorways. If you miss the entrance (if coming in from Taupo), hang a left at round about by BP and there is a back entrance. (Across from BP) Motel is comfortable and clean. It is dated, bathroom has been updated. Motel is quiet. Good location.

Was very comfortable and the bed just makes you sink into such a great sleep also the owner and the staff where kind and generous 👆💯 definitely come back again Also laundry untensils where available for our own personal belongings such a great motel

Centrally located, we enjoyed getting around on foot throughout the week we were there. We also enjoyed interacting with the lovely family of pūkeko resident in the wetland just next to the motel. They got all our left over food when we checked out. Also appreciated the heat pump.

Nothing. It’s inexpensive and suitable for purpose.
