There was plenty of room for three golfers. Spa pool was a great extra and the TV screen was massive. Great for watching the PGA Golf Championship and EPL football. Shower water pressure superb, although shower in the bath a bit tricky to access. Reception staff was friendly and extra-helpful. We will definitely be back on our next golf holiday to the Kapiti Coast.

Shower in the bath combination was not easy to exit. There was an accessibility handle which helped.

This is a warm comfortable well located motel- it had a microwave and kettle so the kitchenette was suitable for breakfasts. The beds were comfortable and warm-showers was good with plenty of hot water This a a nice family run Motel

There isn’t really anything you could improve on, this is a small town Motel and although close to the train you don’t hear it after about 22:30

Room , bathroom and toilet were cleaned every day, any rubbish was removed, given clean towels and tea towel every day . The bed was comfortable and was given an extra blanket just in case it was needed. Had excess to laundry and shown how to use washing machine and dryer. The staff could not have been any more helpful or friendly.

Brilliantly accommodating! Were able to provide parking for our car & trailer & a big plus, they're dog friendly. Which made catching an early ferry trip so less stressful. Very quiet, easy access on & off expressway, and a big pool. John was incredibly attentive - had the cones out ready for us to park despite us being after check-in times.

This is a great motel for the money, well appointed and clean with super friendly owners, nothing was too much trouble for them. If you are a light sleeper that rumbling noise at 0400 is a train, not an earthquake as my Scottish partner thought 😀. We stayed four nights visiting family I would happily stay again.

We were made very welcome. It was a very friendly place.

Just a small thing, but I don't sleep well and read at night. Bedside lighting could haven been muted a little so that my husband was not disturbed by it. Also there was nowhere outside to sit and enjoy a cuppa, but that is understandable due to layout.

It was comfortable

The counter for eating from was a little strange. We requested a downstairs unit but they were all sold out so we were put in an upstairs unit. We should have told before we arrived and could have looked else where. My partner has had two knee replacements and I am headed the same way.

The host is very helpful and the place is fascinating with all the artefacts and art work. Beds very comfortable and the DYI breakfast materials very generous. Great sea views.

The shower is hard to use. Although the place is great for many, it is totally unsuitable for elderly/infirm (as the drive, steps are very, very steep) or for those with young children (as the artefacts are vulnerable!).

Had a great stay. Staff were great. Very clean and tidy which is a must. And the neighbours were nice and quiet.

Nothing to not like really. But being a builder myself, I think the entire building needs to be picked up and turned around 180 degrees and face north. Whoever designed it back then should have thought about that. It was cold and shady all day at the front doors and carpark, but it had all day sun shining into the bathroom.

I had googled the motel when making my arrangements for a visit to New Zealand the purpose of which was to see my best friend, who I had met when we shared a room in London circa 1963...my friend does not have a space for a guest tbut I live alone am prefer it that way. I spent time with my friend and met her neighbours and attended a Probus meeting which was a first for me...her retirement village is upmarket and I enjoyed seeing the place and had dinner with her every night; the motel was conveniently located near her village and I was very pleased with the accommodation and service.

No complaints from me; only "problem" was on my second night there was no television reception and I do like to watch current affairs and had seen an Australian programme which I had never watched at home: Credlin...and Bolt...actually was impressed with Credlin and now I record her afternoon programme....the TV screen said there was some transmission problem and next morning I asked the manager, Russell, when reception would be restored....he was surprised and came to the room and made a few adjustments and reception was restored...he also arranged for a technician to come and check the set.
