Location is amazing , right in Mount Cook Village ( which is small). Lovely views from our Executive studio room to mountains. We were able to park car right outside our ground floor room. Room bigger than expected with well equipped kitchenette , large shower wet room. Small patio outside front of room. As the area is miles from nearest town (45 mins away) you have to take your own food to cook , as Mount Cook Village only has one restaurant in the Heritage hotel and a bar cafe in village. This is ok though as kitchenette has saucepans , frying pan hob , microwave ,fridge . Area is so stunning and walks to Tasman Glacier Lake are near by. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back. Reception staff were lovely and helpful. Highly recommend this place - advice book a year in advance as hotel is always full .

We had a beautiful room with a view to die for !! I think the first row of units in front of us had an even better view so ask to be closest to the mountains.I think the views here are some of the best in the world. Close to everything and you must do the hooker valley trail its just amazing. The hermitage hotel is nice but its giant and lots of tours and people coming and going , the Aoraki Court Motel is peaceful and easy to get in and out of, we loved it here!!

Went to check in and they put a sign on the door that says come back at 3 ? or was it 2 ? to check in. We wanted to ask a couple of questions but never saw anyone.

Fantastic view out of our window. We just sat and looked at the view! Great location to beat all the crowds who flock to this beautiful place to walk the Hooker Valley trail and Tasman Glacier view trail etc. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, the whole place spotless. The reception team sent a couple of messages reminding you that there is nowhere to shop for food in the area and limited dining options. Highly recommend The memories will stay with us for a long time.

Would be good if you could turn off the light outside the front door or cover the small window with a black out blind. There are black out curtains on the main window but this is a dark sky area and we shouldn't be adding to any light pollution plus the sun came up early and woke us up due to no blind.

What an incredible location with snowy tip mountains surrounding you. The room was extremely well isolated and warm even without the heater on. The rooms must have been redone fairly recently and has a modern kitchen with some older elements (such as the wall heater). They also had Nespresso pods and a machine which was a surprise and delicious. Will 100% stay here again.

No dislikes, I would just try and book one of the units at the front to get better uninterrupted views of the mountains next time.

Beautiful location, lovely staff. Spacious, clean room, comfy bed. Coffee pod machine and teas provided. Make sure to bring your own milk from out of town. Nice spa bath in room. There’s also a laundry there- it takes coins- bring notes to swap for coins at reception. (The dryer probably needed 2 cycles as some things were still damp) Would recommend this accommodation :)

The only 2 things I didn’t like: - there was an odd smell when first arrived in room (which I also smelt in our next motel we stayed in)- I think it was one of those deodorizer things they use if someone has been cooking in the room prior? I’d much rather smell the smell of food than this smell though- but the smell went away after having a window open for a couple hours. Other thing was the shower head wasn’t great. It wasn’t adjustable to go down anymore and was kind of stuck on this high angle so if you’re short it’s hard to like be in the right line of the water coming out. I’ll attach a photo of it. Because there was a bath though this wasn’t a deal breaker for me and worked well enough to still wash the soap off. It was still a really nice room.

The motel is great for what it is, friendly staff, clean room with good views. The bathroom could be updated a bit.

Unless you are planning to hike a lot around the area and/or take food with you to cook, I don't really see the point in staying in the village. There are like 2-3 places to eat, all of them overpriced with bad reviews. You're much better off if you're staying in Twizel which is like a 45 minute drive away on a scenic and not too busy (in September) road.

Had a really nice stay here in a very unique setting. While there are limited accommodation options (and generally expensive) this was good value for the area. The room was good size, comfortable bed and nice furnishings. Very clean too. Reception desk was friendly and no issues with check in/check out or parking. Sometimes when you hear Motel, you prepare yourself to rough and ready it, but this was not the case for the Aoraki Court. Good experience and would definitely recommend.

We recently stayed at Aoraki Court Motel in the heart of Mount Cook, and it was an unforgettable experience. The view from our room was simply breathtaking, with stunning mountains visible all around. Stepping outside the room, we were surrounded by majestic peaks, creating a truly awe-inspiring atmosphere. The stay was exceptional in every way. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, providing a perfect base to explore the beauty of Mount Cook. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. This was undoubtedly one of the best stays of our lives, and we highly recommend Aoraki Court Motel to anyone seeking an extraordinary mountain retreat. We absolutely loved our time here and can't wait to return.

Lovely spacious room which was very come table and well appointed, which offered a good view. Walking distance to visitor centre and a couple of nearby restaurants in the village.

Heater in the room was a little hit and miss- lucky it wasn’t winter and extremely cold. It kept going cold after being on only for a short time. Also there was no heated towel rails in the bathroom which was unusual considering the location. Everywhere else we have started in South Island has had heated towel rails.

Aoraki Motel is at base of Mt Cook Range, You are in middle of hiking mecca. Place was spotlessly clean, had 2 burner cooktop fridge microwave. Everything was all in one room with a back patio and separate bathroom/shower. Extremely quiet at night (TON better than staying in the Tour bus filled hotel in village) Aoraki Motel is outrageously expensive for what you get. However, it is probably the best deal you will find in this village. There is NOTHING for 50 miles of this Village. Owner was very nice and would give us the weather for the day. There are not may options to stay in the Village.. However I would HIGHLY recommend staying Aoraki Court Motel if you want to get away from the tour bus crowds (that are extremely annoying (pushy and loud)). This will help you have better mindset to enjoy this picturesque pristine paradise without being constantly annoyed with “bus” tourist actions. Mt Cook Village consist of around 200-300 locals serving thousands of tourist. So, there are no restaurants, grocery stores entertainment. Simply Hiking. , Apparently , there is one buffet restaurant offered at nearby hotel and that is it. So, need to pack your food before you come to this remote place. ENJOY It is Breathtaking and Fun!
