From the moment I checked in to the day I checked out, my experience at Admirals Motor Inn was nothing short of outstanding. Words can not fully express my gratitude to the incredible hosts, Fraser and Kelly, whose warmth and genuine care made my stay feel truly like home. Their kindness and unwavering dedication to guest satisfaction were beyond exceptional, creating an atmosphere of comfort and hospitality that is rare to find. Admirals Hotel is, without a doubt, a first class establishment, offering impeccable service, a welcoming environment, and great value for all room options. We immediately were greeted in a very welcoming way even though we walked in with packs on our backs. The manager knew what hikers needed.. a shower and a comfortable nights sleep. He answered any questions we had politely. The room was spacious and the upper room was awesome for our 20 yr old son so he had his own space. No air conditioners but fans ready to use, better in a lot of ways. They emptied our rubbish from we had from our packs but didn't interfere with our stuff we were sorting. Respect! Buses nearby, easy to get to where we needed to go. Beds were comfortable, shower lovely!!!

Nothing, the room had a microwave so you didn't really need a cooker and it wasn't advertised as that anyway.

Great location, clean tidy with a change of towels and bins emptied each day. Decent shower and facilities, super friendly owners who were very kind and helpful, even went out of there way to make some phone calls for me as I don’t have a NZ phone.

I don’t have a car but peoples cars practically parked inside my room. Engines running with fumes coming in. Noise from people coming and going from all hours. Noisy people above but still overall I enjoyed my stay here, I’d probably choose the same style studio just away from the carpark if possible.

The welcome offered by Kelly and Fraser on arrival and the cleanliness and quality and size of the room and rhe comfort of the beds affirmed that Admirals Motor Lodge was perfect for our stay. The inroom amenities, the little extra like free milk, the extra advice on where to eat, how to walk to the city centre and what to see in and around Nelson added to the pleasure of staying. After 10 days travelling the laundry was all done within an hour in a better than home laundry . The cleanliness of the total facility was remarkable.

There was nothing that could be done better, because everything was perfect. My partner suggested that as every bathroom amenity was supplied a shower cap was the only thing missing. She commented on the thr glass doors on the shower where so clean and sparkling compared to curtains offered in other motels we had stayed in.

Our host was awesome, and set us up for a great time in Nelson from the get-go. The apartment was perfect for the 2 of us in terms of size, and it was lovely and warm as well as warm. We had a nice view of the park and plenty of natural light. The kitchen is small but has everything that someone would need to self-cater, and the hot water was plentiful. We'll be back for sure 😊

Leaving! We wanted to stay for longer than 2 nights.

This was by far our favourite place we have stayed in on our travels around the South Island. Excellent Host ,friendly and helpful .Great recommendations for what to do in the area and beyond. Rooms were fantastic, very spacious, beds super comfortable great nights sleep had by all .It also had a separate kitchen. Could not have asked for better. Would definitely stay here again

Check in with Kelly went very smoothly, at the end of a long day of driving, and she gave us some good suggestions for activities the following day. We stayed in #12, and the upstairs bedroom was perfect for our daughter to have some privacy in the evening; she loved the exposed beams. The kitchenette was small, but well provided with microwave, fridge, and kettle. We found the staff friendly and the location allowed us to walk and explore the center of Nelson.

A strong northerly wind blew through the night and the sliding door whistled a bit because of it.

Fraser and Kelly were absolutely wonderful, the location was perfect for exploring town and the room was clean with all the amenities. We liked that there was enough room for both of us and our luggage without feeling cramped. There was even a drying line available outside if needed, I thought this was a very thoughtful touch.

Unit was great, looking onto a park/field. kids loved the attic style bedroom upstairs. Small living area but had a dining table which was good. Close to the CBD. Fraser was very friendly and helpful.

Basic kitchen, no stove or oven. No BBQ facilities. Laundry opening hours, we are early risers so would have been handy to do some washing early

An upstairs studio apartment to ourselves. Peaceful. Location was reasonable to city. Walkable. Laundry facilities. Kitchenette facilities. Clean, serviced daily.

No control for lights next to bed. Needed bedside lamp. No room safe. Although a fan was provided there was no air con and the room was very hot as the afternoon as sun shone direct into it. No comfortable seats only hard chairs.
