I loved the feel of the room it had everything I needed with a spectacular view. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and relaxed and happy to help.

I wasn’t overly happy to receive 2 parking tickets in the mail after my stay saying that I was in violation of their parking policy when I have never had this before when I have stayed there. At check in they ask you for your registration plate if you have a car so that it’s recorded on their file so you can park in their guest carpark. Not sure what the deal is with that other than an extra $170 on top of my stay. They may need to look into how they monitor their guests parking.

The views from our room were to die for. You could see the ferries and the boats coming into the Picton harbor, the birds flying over the green hills and locals walking their dogs in the park in the morning. The room had a desk and a separate arm chair with a side table, perfect for relaxing and reading a book. The balcony had separate chairs, but you could just open the glass doors and have the outside be part of your room. The bed was huge and comfortable. The restaurant served delicious breakfast with plenty to choose from (pastries, oatmeal, egg sandwitches, fruits, muesli, etc.) and we also opted in for a dinner and it didn't disappoint! The beef pie and the chowder were phenomenal. We didn't get a chance to try the pool and the bar. I guess, we will have to go back!

Wish we stayed longer.

Great place to stay, Comfortable and very good location. Staff were very helpful and professional. Great Location, Good facilities. Very Clean and We'll maintained.

The main area for improvement is the Inadequate Heating of our Room. The room remained quite cold during our Winter stay. The heater provided was much too small for the relatively large space room. Electric Blankets for the Beds would be a useful Option to have available, as the Beds were quite chilly to get into, given the Inadequate Heating of the room, for the cold Wintry conditions we were having.

Good property within walkable distance to the town and the wharf. It would have been nice to have had a room on the sunny side of the hotel with a view of the sea but this was not possible. The pool looked inviting.

Disappointed that the bar was not open before dinner. The reason that they were understaffed was given. Bar items were also unavailable. eg no gin? We were offered an inclusive 3 course dinner via email that encouraged us to book the restaurant. However we eventually understood that it was one of the last dinner offerings before the end of the summer season. Hence the low bar stock. Staff were pleasant and accommodating and it was overall a pleasant - if not slightly humorous evening.

We had driven all day from Hamilton down to Wellington, caught the ferry to Picton and so the arrival at the hotel was good to get to after a very early start and a long day! The room was perfect for our needs (3 of us) and it was very comfortable. We left early the next day to drive to Dunedin to take my son to Otago. We liked the location and we were able to walk to find a late dinner. Good to have parking too.

Unfortuantely when we were booking in, there was no one on reception and I had to wait for over 15 mins before someone came to serve us (there was a big queue of us all from the ferry). It couldn't be helped but perhaps having someone on reception when people are checking in after a ferry would be a priority. The staff member was very good when he did serve us and knew his stuff! It was just annoying after a long day when all we wanted to do was get into our room (and my husband and son were waiting in the car).

This place has upped its game for sure! Last stay disappointing but decided to give it one more try as previously it had been ok. Voiced our disappointment of last stay when booking this time. They certainly listened. From the moment we arrived we noticed huge improvement. The location of room we requested & a refurbished room was supplied. Room had obviously been recently renovated & was advised all rooms were in process of getting a renovation. Breakfast & restaurant in general had improved. & finally after 5 years of staying at Yacht Club the pool had been painted. Looked great!

One wee complaint....no wine glasses in room??? Weird.

I left early for the ferry. The location was perfect. I enjoyed dinner then returning to a comfortable well resourced room

That access out via the front was locked still. We then had to lug our bags down some rather frightful stairs. There was no parking and had to park on a less secure over flow area away from the Hotel. The man who threatened catering staff because there was no one to check their family in and they had been waiting a while.

I was really injured when I arrived from an injury the previous day. The staff were so helpful and kind. They even brought my drink to my room for me. The food was sensational. The variety for the breakfast excellent. I recommend splurging and buying the French toast though it was fabulous. The view was sensational. I woke early and opened the double sliding doors got back in bed with coffee and watched the sunrise over forest clad hills cosy and warm. Also go see the ladies at picton nails and massage, phenomenal well priced massage.

Climbing stairs to my room. But that's nit picking

We stay here every year when we come to Picton on our way south. It is always fabulous and this year it was exceptional! The breakfast buffet (which was always great) is now even more generous and delicious and WOW! what an absolutely delicious meal we had at the Chartroom restaurant on our second night. It was completely top class and an exceptionally good price. The beds are always beautifully comfortable and always the rooms are spotlessly clean. We recommend it unreservedly!
