The space was lovely. Well appointed and great room for kids to move about

The restaurant had an error to our booking. We booked 2 adults and 2 kids but were placed at a corner of the walking lane with only enough table room for 2 people. The staff were lovely but the food for adults arrived in advance of kids food and the table squeeze was frustrating. Great food once it arrived though.

Our kids loved the spa pools and the two heated pools, so relaxing and warm. My favourite place was the sauna and hubby loved that he could watch the All Blacks game in the room (Sky). We made good use of the basketball and tennis courts before we left. Loads of parking space here. Didn't get to use the restaurant & bar this time as we ventured into town for the Winter Festival but it looks great as does the menu. This is the perfect place for families.

Would love if you could have a vending machine in the main foyer or items behind the counter to purchase essentials such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, bottled water etc.

Wairakei Resort is a good comfortable hotel. The room was a good size fitting 2 double beds with a nice balcony overlooking the gardens. The hotel has some good fitness facilities and a fab 20M lap pool that is heated geothermally and is like a warm bath. The Hotel was quiet even though busy for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. We liked that the hotel was away from downtown Taupo about 10 minutes in the car.

We felt that the hotel was looking a little dated and tired by modern standards. It was however clean and well maintained.

We absolutely loved staying here for our 2 nights. Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the twin room which was a generous size for two adults and two teenagers (they had to share a bed🤭) The bathroom had complimentary toiletries and the beds were very comfy. The food was amazing at the Resorts Geyser Restaurant. It has amenities for everyone, it was a shame it rained so we didn't get to use the courts. It was also a great location and only a short drive to the town center. We would definitely stay again!! Thank you 😊

There was only one spare pillow in the room for 4 of us, we could have asked for more. The room was very hot and the ceiling fan was the only air-conditioning in the room

Lovely location, lovely grounds. Really relaxing. When it said two heated pools, they are actually hot pools, very nice! Food good in the restaurant, staff friendly. Room clean and comfortable with a ceiling fan. Perfect for me but some might prefer air con in this modern day. Speaking of modern, the rooms whilst clean and decorated, are a bit tired and an old fashioned but again it’s not something that concerns me but might do others. Very much enjoyed our stay

Clean, well maintained.This resort is 10-12 minute drive to prevent get into town. That's fine for those who on pop wish to make this their landing base. But, uiure not near the beautiful Lake Taupo, downtown activities or anyplace that serves good food. There is a restaurant at Wairakei Resort. Tho, their restaurant food is very mediocre and extremely overpriced. The room was small, you won't be laying your suitcase flat anywhere cuz there's zero floor space. The teeny fridge doesn't even have a freezer compartment snd I needed that to refreeze ice gor medication travel. The tiny patios were dirty floors and a covered with dirt glass table and 2 plastic chairs.

Nice resort which could have been quiet and peaceful. Comfy bed and good shower.

There was a lot of noise for most of our stay. Firstly room 402 has a Tesla charging point right next to it and people were often coming and going to this and clattering around with it. This is also a fire risk having this so close to where we were sleeping. We were also unfortunate to have noisy people around us who kept us awake late into the night. What looked like it should have been a peaceful resort didn't end up that way. We might give it another go by trying a stay in a different block of rooms.

Great family spot. Facilities were great, and there were lots of activities for the kids to get busy with. The location is great, just 10 minutes from Taupo city centre and 4 minutes from Huka Falls. The staff were amazing and always ready to help. They also have electric charging spots on the property, and we were able to charge our vehicle for free for our entire 3nights' stay. It was so perfect for a stress free time away, kids of all ages will find something to entertain them. We will definitely visit again soon.

Facilities, serenity and location were perfect

We had a great stay here, the hot pools were amazing, we didn't go into the spa - they did look run down but when you have the hot pools you didn't need the spa. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and it was reasonably priced. The staff were really helpful. Definitely recommend

We were in a ground floor room and you couldn't turn the heating off - completely out of the hotel's control but just keep that in mind when booking. We found the windows on our second night and it made things a lot better.

Booking.com made an error with our accommodation and charged us for two rooms but when we reached we were informed by Resort that there were no such rooms available. We paid $over $800 for two nights for just one bed for 4 of us. Omkar the manager assisted us by fixing the error booking.com had made. He made sure we got the joint room to accommodate our family of 4. Booking.com should be notified not to advertise false information in this instance.
