The space was lovely. Well appointed and great room for kids to move about

The restaurant had an error to our booking. We booked 2 adults and 2 kids but were placed at a corner of the walking lane with only enough table room for 2 people. The staff were lovely but the food for adults arrived in advance of kids food and the table squeeze was frustrating. Great food once it arrived though.

Wairakei Resort is a good comfortable hotel. The room was a good size fitting 2 double beds with a nice balcony overlooking the gardens. The hotel has some good fitness facilities and a fab 20M lap pool that is heated geothermally and is like a warm bath. The Hotel was quiet even though busy for the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. We liked that the hotel was away from downtown Taupo about 10 minutes in the car.

We felt that the hotel was looking a little dated and tired by modern standards. It was however clean and well maintained.

We absolutely loved staying here for our 2 nights. Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in the twin room which was a generous size for two adults and two teenagers (they had to share a bed🤭) The bathroom had complimentary toiletries and the beds were very comfy. The food was amazing at the Resorts Geyser Restaurant. It has amenities for everyone, it was a shame it rained so we didn't get to use the courts. It was also a great location and only a short drive to the town center. We would definitely stay again!! Thank you 😊

There was only one spare pillow in the room for 4 of us, we could have asked for more. The room was very hot and the ceiling fan was the only air-conditioning in the room

Lovely location, lovely grounds. Really relaxing. When it said two heated pools, they are actually hot pools, very nice! Food good in the restaurant, staff friendly. Room clean and comfortable with a ceiling fan. Perfect for me but some might prefer air con in this modern day. Speaking of modern, the rooms whilst clean and decorated, are a bit tired and an old fashioned but again it’s not something that concerns me but might do others. Very much enjoyed our stay

Clean, well maintained.This resort is 10-12 minute drive to prevent get into town. That's fine for those who on pop wish to make this their landing base. But, uiure not near the beautiful Lake Taupo, downtown activities or anyplace that serves good food. There is a restaurant at Wairakei Resort. Tho, their restaurant food is very mediocre and extremely overpriced. The room was small, you won't be laying your suitcase flat anywhere cuz there's zero floor space. The teeny fridge doesn't even have a freezer compartment snd I needed that to refreeze ice gor medication travel. The tiny patios were dirty floors and a covered with dirt glass table and 2 plastic chairs.

Nice resort which could have been quiet and peaceful. Comfy bed and good shower.

There was a lot of noise for most of our stay. Firstly room 402 has a Tesla charging point right next to it and people were often coming and going to this and clattering around with it. This is also a fire risk having this so close to where we were sleeping. We were also unfortunate to have noisy people around us who kept us awake late into the night. What looked like it should have been a peaceful resort didn't end up that way. We might give it another go by trying a stay in a different block of rooms.

Great family spot. Facilities were great, and there were lots of activities for the kids to get busy with. The location is great, just 10 minutes from Taupo city centre and 4 minutes from Huka Falls. The staff were amazing and always ready to help. They also have electric charging spots on the property, and we were able to charge our vehicle for free for our entire 3nights' stay. It was so perfect for a stress free time away, kids of all ages will find something to entertain them. We will definitely visit again soon.

Facilities, serenity and location were perfect

Bar and restaurant were great : good food and great service. Pool complex is really nice...great location across the road from the new Wairakei Terraces and Huka Falls a short drive away

The room we had was perfect for my husband who is in a wheelchair most of the time, easy to shower him and staff were so great. Room is nice and spacious. We really enjoyed it. Husband had a stroke 18months ago and it was the first time we had been away and we weren't sure if it was going to be ok. But it was great there and we will definitely be back. Thankyou.

Husband with disability really was looking forward to a swim, however the railing was good but the step down into the pool was too high so he couldn't get in. Need a seat in the shallow end or another step that people with a disability can sit on and enjoy the pool. Also your wheelchair while great that you have one, had no foot rest so he had to hold his feet up while I pushed the chair.

We loved the size of the room. We travelled with an 18 month old baby and the junior suite we had was perfect. The sliding doors were perfect to "close off" the room so our baby girl could go to sleep while we watched tv in the other room. Great to have a bathroom with a separate bath and shower. The facilities were great and long opening hours. The cocktails at the geyser bar were amazing!

Some of the facilities are a bit outdated and can use a spruce up. For example the spa pools and the changing rooms by the pool and sauna. Also, we found the breakfast buffet expensive. Some info on their website needs to be updated because it's outdated.
