Our stay at the Garden Room was fantastic. Jane met us when we arrived to make sure we found the place in the rain and got settled into the room. The room was clean and very well-organized, and stocked with food for breakfast in the morning. It was the perfect location to get to Te Anau (6 min drive) and Milford Sound (2 hour drive) and was a comfy spot to relax after full days out and about. Before we left, Jane was nice enough to take us over to meet her alpacas, which was a lovely addition to an already great stay.

The Garden room was super comfy & lovely & clean. The views out to the garden were gorgeous. The breakfast supplies were good. The location was perfect being less than 10 minutes into Te Anau, perfect as one morning we had to be on a tour at 6.30am! Jane is a wonderful host, very friendly & she takes excellent care of you. She tidied up for us every morning which was a lovely gesture. We were very wet after our Milford Sound trip & Jane kindly washed all our wet hiking gear. She even tried our hiking boots over night in her airing cupboard! Thank you,

Really good base for visiting the Sounds, c2.5hrs from Milford Sound and c25mins from Lake Manapouri (for Doubtful Sound). Room was clean, comfortable and self enclosed. Really pretty surrounding grounds, including some local Alpacas! Host was very friendly & helpful.

Breakfast was provided in the room and was reasonable - probably represents the improvement potential to get 10/10

Gorgeous, quiet rural location only 5 mins drive to Te Anau town centre. Spacious room for 2 people, with everything you could need for breakfast and dinners. Host was so friendly and accommodating, and facilitated a truly memorable Southern Aurora viewing for me. I couldn't have had a better stay at The Garden Room!! Highly recommended and would stay again in a heart beat.

This room had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Jane even put on a load of washing for us! The view of the garden from the window was delightful. A light breakfast of cereal, milk, fruit and yoghurt was supplied along with plenty of tea and coffee. We were able to have a fantastic night's sleep and recharge after our adventure on the Kepler Track.

What’s not to love? The Garden Room is attached to the host’s residence by accessed by its own entrance… but you would never know anyone else was there it was so peaceful and quiet. So quiet in fact that we could hear the very quiet clock ticking! The room was well appointed, with a glorious shower and comfortable bed and the supplied breakfast was lovely. A quick 5 minute drive into Te Anau township - the perfect launching pad for our Milford Sound trip.

We loved everything about it. It was impeccably clean, had everything we needed in the room, the bed was super comfy, the water pressure in the shower was great and it was quiet. We would stay again and recommend to anyone visiting Te Anau area. The garden was beautiful and the host was lovely and provided breakfast and topped it up for our second morning.

There was nothing not to like!

On arrival our host upgraded us to a boutique suite which we appreciated. Our suite overlooked lovely views of open countryside and was well equipped with lots of facilities including a TV and fridge. Breakfast provisions were made available so we always had a good start to the day. The accommodation was only a five minute drive from Te Anau and provided very good value for money.

Such a peaceful location though you’ll definitely need a car. The room was very well appointed with everything you need plus a few treats. The garden is just lovely and the views beautiful. Jane is a friendly and welcoming host. Best shower rose ever!

Everything , just everything Beautiful and comfortable Beautifully presented ... and the Shower!!! I could have stayed there all day :) The bed was also beautifully presented Fab location Jane was an amazing host I thoroughly enjoyed my stay 😀
