I was worried after reading reviews - I needn't have been. This motel is a bit tired and worn round the edges - but the room and bed were really comfortable, nice bathroom, great wifi, few minutes flat walk to Te Anau waterfront and town - with bars, restaurants and shops. The room had a fridge - very useful , hairdryer - brilliant, tea and coffee supplies, and the parking was excellent- right outside our window. Not much of a balcony but we found outside seating upstairs. It was very quiet, away from road noise and nothing inside from other guests. Fair price and a great night's sleep. We didn't use the restaurant so can't comment on the catering.

A compact unit, that comfortably suits two persons, with the usual amenities available. Shower over Bath, a feature in the Bathroom, and I have never filled a bath so fast before less than three minutes, which was a great surprise, a handy place to perch for the evening after exploring the surrounding area.. located on the outskirts of town is very quiet location, but connects with all the roads to the areas for interest.

The place is a bit dated and observably gets heavily used in Winter, resulting in a well used appearance although it had been cleaned still looked used.

Ed and Dang were great hosts/management. Very friendly. The room was compact but it was comfortable enough for the 2 nights we stayed. Close to town. Nice dining area and relaxation/lounge area for guests to use. Outside BBQ area but it rained day 1 and day 2 we did Milford Sound. Would stay again.

Initially our TV wasn't working but in no time at all Ed and Dang had a replacement one for us. Bed was a bit squishy( foam?) so if I got close to the edge I felt like I would roll off)

A lovely spacious unit, with great amenities - including a washing machine and full oven. Liked the outside area with outdoor furniture to sit on. Nice shower nd the unit was lovely and clean with good, cofortable beds. CLose to restaurants as well.

I actually didn't see the motel owner and so when I went to pay for the accommodation, the reception area was locked. I just had to assume paymenthad been taken from my credit card but no receipt was given or any communication by email that this had happened. I had to wait until I returned home to make sue payment had gone through.

The property is perfectly located near the Town Center. The rooms are clean . A little old fashioned but you get what you pay for . I was a little skeptical after reading some negative reviews but for the price you pay you get a very good hotel .

Hot and cold taps in washroom are separate.

Decent stay if you don't want to stay at a campsite, but also do not want to pay for fancy hotels around. Nice lounge with a pool table and a ping-pong table. From one side, they have a microwave there and even allow to stack dirty dishes so the staff will clean it next day...

...from other side, if you arrived too late you will not have a chance to cook something for yourself (BBQ outside may be excluded from the consideration if it's raining). And the restaurant does not work late, as well as many other cafes around...

Stairs with suitcases are never fun but thankfully it was only one floor. Great price and beds were comfy. Was great having the wall partition between us and the toddler, meant she went to sleep easily. Only thing was we couldn't find the remote for the TV but once we figured out how to turn it on it wasn't a issue to change channels.

The woman running the hotel is lovely and honestly made our stay that much better. The rooms where clean and we'll kept. The only shame of the whole stay was that the communal areas seemed a little outdated. If the owner would renovate the large breakfast area it would be beautiful. I'm sure lots of weddings and events would love that space but it needs a little TLC.

When we travel, we generally pick simple places that meet the following criteria - clean, good hot water supply, good wifi, the option to make tea and a basic breakfast in the morning, and ideally quiet. This motel met all of that, except the wifi was a little slow starting around 5pm once more people were back in their rooms. Streaming became difficult, so we watched random TV shows. There also wasn't a microwave in the room. Not a deal breaker, but we had them in other motels that were cheaper. Otherwise, it was an easy walk to town and of course is in a beautiful area.

Very lovely receptionist, she was very accommodating as I needed an earlier check-in to get ready for a wedding at 3:00 pm. The room was good as I just needed a place to get ready and to sleep.

The bathroom was very tiny but was very clean. Brighter lights would be good in the bathroom as there is no natural light.
