We loved this place so much! Staff were super welcoming and helpful. The cabin was basic but had everything we needed and was warm at night. The free sauna was the main reason we booked this place and it didn’t disappoint (although we did have to turn it on ourselves on both occasions as the 2h timer had ran out so it was cold on arrival but warmed up quickly) Location next to the lake a walking distance to town and cafes was excellent. Kitchen area was super clean and tidy, and we loved that each room came with their own crockery and tea towels.

Showers could have been cleaner but I imagine they get a lot of use!

Lovely new carpets. Nice and warm room in winter - good heating. Heated towel rack, very kind staff. Great location. Shower was great. Room smelt fresh and new. Car parking next to room. Clean.

Soundproofing not great. We could hear some noise from the room next to us - some muffled voices and sounds of closing doors. Also the first night we were kept up until 10:30pm by the noise of people closing motorhome doors because there was a big group in one going in and out of it. Really the only flaw of this place is the soundproofing. It wasn’t so bad that I wouldn’t stay again and second night was much quieter. But a deal breaker for my partner who needs quiet to sleep. I would still recommend this accommodation. It was my favorite room on our NZ holiday.

The service was outstanding! They were amazing to us and most of all our kids. The park felt so safe and was lakeside. 2 min walk to town. Hot tubs were excellent. Nothing was a problem and a core memory will always be how they roasted a pork for everyone to share for matariki! The rooms were perfect, well equipped and clean.

Not sure why, but our toilet(just outside the cabin) that we shared with other members of the park wasn't cleaned for the two days we were there, we ended up walking over to the other shared bathrooms because ours was terrible.

We booked a twin room with private bathroom. Upon arrival we got a "Matai Ensuite Room" as an upgrade. The Matai is a separate building with 6-8 rooms, who share a communal kitchen, dining room, lounge and laundry facilities. The communal kitchen was very new and well equipped and the dining room and lounge quite big. Additionally, there were BBQ-Facility for the whole park, as well as Hot Tubs and Sauna.

The bathroom looked quite old. There was dust on the kitchen cabinets. And only two coat hanger. Because of the communal dining room and lounge, the room didn't have a seating area, just two chairs. And there wasn't much space left next to the beds and the chairs. Compared to other rooms we had, it was one of the smallest, but the most expensive one. As we had breakfast and dinner in local restaurants and didn't use the communal kitchen and dining room, we paid quite a lot of money for a rather small room. If you are not planning to use the communal kitchen and the other amenities, we don't recommend this accommodation.

The owners of this campsite were so genuine, caring and kind. They treated us with top class hospitality, shouting and upgrading us multiple things, and even holding a camp site Matariki pork roast roll (that was delicious btw). The apartment was beautiful, clean, high quality toiletries etc. it is a perfect short walk to town and also a nice location for a walk etc. the hot tubs and sauna is phenomenal, and the service from all staff is top notch. This has to be the best place I have ever stayed at ! Ngā mihi

It was clear within all of 15mins of arriving at this park that the owner Mike loves what he does and is truly passionate about making sure his guests have an amazing stay. We stayed here on our Honeymoon and Mike went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had a wonderful time. We could not be more thankful for such an amazing stay, Mike was truly a highlight of our trip! Thank you Mike ❤️

Nothing! It was perfect and clearly kitted out for travellers and families from all walks!

We have stayed here lots of times over a couple of years and it just keeps getting better! Is so well setup, clean, amazing facilities, perfect location and the new owners and their team are outstanding in terms of care and hosting. The guy at reception was so good when checking in and answering questions, always smiled and said hi in the campground and outside of it too. The children felt welcome, and the facilities were great. Even had bikes for them to use on top of the playground, kids room and lounge. We stayed over Father's Day and Mike put on beer tasting and roast pork on the BBQ for everyone. Was not only the best roast pork I've ever tried, but was also a great way to meet other travellers. Room was great, well setup and very clean.

We had a wonderful stay! Mike was incredibly welcoming and helpful, and Kraige was great too. The room was one of the cleanest and most well-maintained we’ve seen—warm, cozy, and comfortable. Our car had a mechanical issue during our stay, and Mike went out of his way to help us get in touch with a mechanic, which we really appreciated. The location is perfect—right in the centre, surrounded by beautiful lakes and gardens, with everything easily accessible. Highly recommended

The BEST accomodation and staff members we have ever encountered! We had booked the classic double cabin and when we arrived we were super happy with the cleanliness and many amenities this room had for the price. However, we were walking past reception and Mike stopped us and upgraded us to the apartment for free!!!! Being students, we hadn't experienced such luxury in a very long time. We had everything we needed and more - the bathroom floors were bloody heated?!? Despite it being the start of winter, the room was incredibly cosy and a great base for our adventures throughout the area. 10000% would recommend. Mike you and your family are awesome. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

It was a lovely place to stay! Friendly staff, room was clean and inviting! Was everything we needed for a short and sweet stay!

We were in the block over, only Thing is maybe the noise in room6 could hear everything in the lounge/ could hear everyone walking etc on deck. Also some confusion around hot tubs, we got given a complimentary spa for my 30tb birthday, but found someone in this! Could do with a better system? But that was literally it
