Comfortable, clean and warm. Great location just a short walk to the main street. Kids playground at the motel.

Queen bed was in the main kitchen and living room but we knew this when we booked. Fairly small space for a family.

John was extremely accommodating. He gave us great recommendations on restaurants. We were particularly interested in one restaurant that is hard to get into without a reservation. After we arrived back from a tour later in the evening, we were surprised to find that John had made us a reservation to that restaurant for the following night. It was such a nice thing to do for us and totally unexpected. John made us feel like family during our stay.

While the motel has not been upgraded, it was very clean and comfortable. Our room had everything we needed, including kitchen supplies, and was a good value.

A wonderful surprise—this was the best value-for-money accommodation of our entire NZ trip. The Large Family Apartment was spacious, clean, and had everything we needed. The kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked with an oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, and more. The bathroom was clean, and we loved having electric blankets and full heating throughout the space. The Smart TV with Netflix and YouTube was a bonus! Perfectly located for a stopover before heading to Milford Sound. Check-in was simple and efficient. Everything about this stay exceeded expectations.

Such a warm welcome, complete with a free map, cookies and great local advice. The location was perfect, walkable to local restaurants and the lake, and a good starting point for our drive to Milford Sound. The space was simple but functional and comfortable. The kitchen was basic but we managed to cook well, particularly with the hot plate with inbuilt pan. It was quiet and peaceful overnight. They kindly looked after our luggage for free when we went for a night at Milford Sound (there is a small charge if you aren’t returning for another nights stay with them ).

We stayed in two different apartments on two occasions. Both were good and were fit for purpose, but the first unit was a little more dated with slightly more tired furniture. The second had new flooring, kitchen units, slightly nicer furniture in the living room. None of this was a deal breaker, and overall I thought it was a great price and location for a place with cooking facilities, in an expensive town to stay in.

This property exceeded my expectations. We were greeted by Logan who was so sweet. The rooms were spacious and cosy and in very close proximity to everything you’d need. The beds were some of the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced from a hotel/motel. You get your own car space right out front and the property was very clean. I’d definitely stay here again.

The only thing is just that it didn’t come with shampoo so I’d recommend bringing your own if you’re staying for a few nights.

The beds were more comfortable than our beds at home! Kids aged 2 and 4 slept like a dream. Amazing TV features, with the kids loving Disney+ and Netflix cartoons. Extremely affordable, with a 3-bdrm unit for three adults and two children being $224. Proper bedrooms! Perfect car parking for vehicle. This price would be completely unheard of in other areas such as Queenstown or Auckland. Excellent facilities in the room, and we used the toaster, jug, and a pot on the stove.

Convenient, clean, best equipped motel we have used on our trip.

A bit small if we were staying more than 1 night-

The rooms are spacious, clean, you get everything you need and a well equipped kitchen. The rooms might look a bit outdated, but they have all one needs. The location is 2-3min from the lake and 7-8min from the city centre (walking distance). The manager was the most welcoming host we have encountered in NZ, thank you for being so nice and kind. Also, the playground was much appreciated by our daughter.

Just one minor thing, either the towels were brand new or it was just the colour of them (dark blue), but when trying to use them, they would leave lots of lint on the skin.

The host was friendly and offered suggestion of things to do around Te Anau. The room itself was very clean and comfortable for the stay. Each room is assigned a car park in front of the room which was very convenient. Only thing that could be better was the hot water pressure as it was very low and the water wasn’t warm enough both in the morning and evening.

I appreciated the good pots and towels. The area is quiet, further it depends on the tourists who come and how much they transit or not in front of our door and window. It is right in the central area of Te Anau and close to the lake, so, from this point of view, it has a good advantage.

I chose the motel because it had a good rating and 4 stars, even if the price was higher than other accommodations I stayed in. It's true, it's the first time I've stayed in a motel. We thought that, whatever it is called, the price paid makes the difference. It is ok, decent, and tries to provide everything you need for your stay. But we expected to see something more beautiful, a little more elegant, a higher class. I can't say that anything was missing - maybe, since we stayed 4 nights, it would have been good if someone cleaned for us. The sofa would need replacement. There is a very high turnover of tourists, as we noticed in the 4 days, and some things degrade more easily.
