The solution to the problem ( see note on what you didn't like ) was that they had other accommodation down the street that was vacant at the time. I was given the keys to this lovely two bedroom house that was well suited for our group and worked out better for our family in the long run, instead of two separate rooms at The Lodge. So I am answering the question to the two bedroom home and not Te Wanaka Lodge.

when we arrived at The Lodge, one of our rooms already had people in it. We had two rooms booked . So I said if this can't be sorted ( ie kick the people out, their suitcases had not been unpacked) The staff person was doing her best to work out why is someone in this room. So I said we can't stay here. She then came back to us with a solution to the problem.

The room was exactly as promised in the photos; clean, cosy, and quaint. The lodge complex was huge and had lots of communal facilities. We enjoyed using the lounge with fireplace and outdoor hot tub. It had an all round charming aesthetic that felt like being invited into someones home (with plenty of privacy). Staff were excellent and showed us to our room when we arrived. The location was good and is pretty much in the centre of the town. Free parking as well. Highly recommended!

The location of this lodge was fabulous, so close to everything we needed. The breakfast included in our stay was awesome. The cooked scrabbled eggs and corn fritters we’re really tasty. The hot tub spa was so good for our sore muscles after snowboarding all day.. we loved the beauty of this lodge, including the garden areas and tv room to explore the attractions wall brochures and books.

Not much really everything we needed for a great stay. Only the bed mattress we would of liked to be a bit harder. Glad I found more pillows and another blanket in cupboard. Maybe the mattresses needs an update for a more dreamy sleep. 😁 A shuttle bus service up the mountain would of been a bonus if they had one running everyday in wanaka. We hired a car . More costs for us.

The staff who checked us in was really lovely and gave us a full tour to our room. There is a spa available free of charge with 30min bookings slots. Comfortable beds with extra bedding provided Each room had a balcony and beautiful art work Walking distance to town Well maintained for the age of the complex

There wasnt tea or coffee available in the rooms you had to go to the main dinning room for a cuppa.

Te Wanaka was a really inviting place to stay, the team looked after us well, and the layout meant that there space to relax outside of our room, two very comfortable lounges, and just a short walk to the local outside food court. Totally loved being able to curl up next to the fire for a coffee/read. Loved our stay here.

Would also have appreciated also having Tea and coffee making in the room or in the upstairs lounge.

The breakfast that was included in our room rate was amazing. Each resident had their own breakfast cooked as they arrived in the dining room Day 1 was scrambled eggs and bacon and day 2 was eggs benedict with smoked salmon. Cereal, fruit, juice, yoghurt and great coffee were also provided, with free coffee and tea available all day. All rooms also have a balcony (with roof) with table and chairs. The room we had was exceptionally clean.

We had 2 beds in our room and that took up most of the space.

The property was good and some what comfortable

The accommodations didn’t look like the photos in the booking.Our room was on the roadside and we heard cars going by all night. In the morning we were woken up by a motorcycle backfiring as it came down the hill in front of the hotel. There was only one light on the side tables next to the bed. The hot tub we used was very chlorinated with chemicals and again didn’t look like the photos in the booking. The parking was very tight. I feel we got the worst room in the hotel. So it’s hard to compare what other people experienced. We only stayed for one night. Wanamaker is a lovely town.

Location, parking, staff and everything else was fantastic, water pressure was great, had hot water run out one time but could have just been peak usage as it was as people must have been getting back from skiing.

Only problem was the road noise as we had the room directly above the road, unsure what else could be done about this and probably just us being sensitive as we live rurally so aren't used to that much noise. Other rooms are lower and have bush around them so seriously doubt this would have been a problem in any other room of the lodge.

Great location within easy walking distance to most things. They have an outdoor spa which can be booked. Breakfast quality can differ depending on who's cooking.

This lodge doesn't have facilities like a kettle inside the room but provides communal area with those facilities. Not a bad thing, just might be different to expectations

Close to the centre easy safe walking distance. Staff were very helpful, happy and friendly. Room was nice and clean with the heater on it was very cozy, just loved the electric blanket. Only problem was booked a slot due the hot tub and didn’t get in as a group of young lads stayed in for over two hours and didn’t feel comfortable asking them to leave.
