We had a large suite with kitchenette and washing machine/drier in bathroom. It was huge, and our son stayed in a sofa bed in the lounge. We ate in the restaurant dinner and breakfast, which was delicious. The stand out for us were the homemade massive scones at morning tea, that were quickly snapped up, so obviously very popular feature for both guests and passing visitors. They were delicious! We did a wonderful peaceful lakeside walk whilst there in the mornings, which was very picturesque and a great way to start the day.

We had to ask a couple of times for the linen for the sofa bed, but it wasn't that big a deal.

Loved the location right by the lake. The gardens of the Hotel are large and go straight down to lake footpath where you can access stunning walk around lake. It was peaceful and relaxing stay. Our suite with balcony was amazing , a-lot bigger than we expected. Huge lounge area with kitchenette , one bedroom with large ensuite with shower and bath . Views from balcony were across lawn to lake. Kitchenette well equipped with hob and microwave , kitchen utensils etc . We ate in suite one night , and ate out one night at the onsite restaurant . Their restaurant serves lovely food too , has outside seating area aswell . Good car parking right by suite. Reception staff were lovely , check in very easy. Highly recommend this place and we wished we had stayed longer than 2 days.

Nothing to comment stay was amazing

Our large King room overlooked a lovely duck pond with Lake Wanaka beyond. Large elegant old property with restaurants / bar facilities. Our bed was super comfortable and the shower has plenty of hot water. Property is located along a nice walking path along Lake Wanaka that is 5 minutes walk to the "Wanaka Tree" (which is super popular) and a bit on down the path is the town center. We ate supper in the hotel restaurant - food was very good and SUPER THANKS to Rest. Manager Autumn Wang for taking such good care of us. We also ate the morning breakfast buffet - which was GREAT.

Parking can be a bit challenging but possible.

Beautiful property, with a lot of green space for lounging outside and privacy is desired. Great Lake views from our room. The trail to town is right in front of the property and you have the opportunity to photograph the Wānaka Tree en route.

We were unable to make reservations for the restaurants, but when we arrive to just have drinks it was pretty empty. Additionally, we are able to order food to our room, but while having drinks in the restaurant was told we could only do drinks. For a younger crowd I feel that the restaurant/bar area closing at 8pm and starting to shut down around 7:30 is pretty early.

The location and the view from just outside the room were fantastic — you step out straight onto a lawn overlooking Lake Wanaka. The staff were very friendly, and the room was clean and well-kept.

The kitchen was quite limited in terms of utensils and basic condiments — if you plan to cook, you’ll need to buy essentials like cooking oil yourself, which isn’t very convenient. Also, our room was right next to a large outdoor air conditioning unit. It got very noisy if we left the door open, though I suppose that’s not something easily changed.

The whole experience was amazing. Although it was only one night, I can tell that Edgewater is an amazing place to stay. The king-size hotel room was the perfect size for me and my partner with a lovely view looking over the whole hotel grounds and up at the snow-covered mountains. All of the staff were so kind and accommodating and yes thats their job, but the lovely lady at the front desk even recommended the paradiso cinema for us to visit in the evening and it was so perfect, best recommendation ever. I would 100% recommend edgewater to anyone looking for a beautiful, cozy, but still luxe place to stay in a perfect location in Wanaka. Thank you for accommodating us in our first time in Wanaka, and I hope to stay there again in the future.

I dont think there's anything I didn't like about staying here. There was some construction going on in front of the area where our room is, however no noise at all during the evening while we stayed, so this isn't even a complaint when it's only going to be making this location even better once it's completed.

Waterfront location, extensive grounds leading down to the lake. Fabulous view, first floor room with balcony. Building looking a little tired, no double glazing, stains on carpet, cracks on walls and ceiling, broken window latch and no fan in bathroom, but room and bed very comfortable and clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Very welcoming.

Room was looking a bit tired and dated.

Beautiful location, beautiful views across the lake and the mountains. Very peaceful. About a 20 minute walk along the waters edge to town. Unfortunately we were only there 1 night so we weren’t able to take advantage of all the facilities on offer. An early start meant we missed breakfast too. Would definitely go back and stay for longer.

Bathrooms could do with a refurb, quite dated compared to the bedrooms.

Close to waterfront, staff were great. Our premium suite was generously proportioned and lots of amenities eg washing machine and a full kitchen

The furnishings didn't look particularly luxurious especially as it had only recently undergone a renovation. Bathroom would benefit from towel rails. Hand rails a bit too low. Should have soft close toilet seats. The view was somewhat obscured by a large tree in the lawn. Would expect better view for a room of that price.

Great to have rooms close together & near spa; love that face cloths still provided & robes were a treat; views, as always, gorgeous. Helpful when we discovered that there was no oven in room, as had been told, gave us access to unit with oven, close by, which was much appreciated.

Because we were by duck pond, grass & outside seating area covered in duck poo- had to request it be cleaned; suggest a notice asking guests to feed ducks by pond, so they stay away from rooms; confusion at reception about rooms & did not follow up on my phone request to remove roll-away bed; also was assured that each unit had a working oven, so we planned menus for an oven, but only hot plates; no BBQs allowed; also quite shocked at state of gardens & amount of rubbish in them.
