The place, location, cleanliness, facilities, breakfast and everything was great. Staff in the reception also super nice and helpful. However, restaurant service needs improvement.

Restaurant service needs improvement. I waited a long time to order sth in the evening, but there wasn't busy, and I felt like I was ignored by the waitress - I had to bring the menu myself, because nobody apprioched me for over 10 minutes and even after informing her that I'd be sitting there, she was passing by a few times after that to other guests, and I was like the air for her. Also, I was travelling with the dog, which is allowed by the hotel, but the dog is not allowed inside the restaurant. That's fine, but I had a breakfast included in the room and I was left with the problem on my own. I expected a little bit of help or satisfactory solution, but they didn't even care. I ended up with running from the restaurant to the garden a few times with food, which was a bit annoying.

The breakfast options were fantastic - there's a lot of variety and it's well-stocked. The rooms are quiet and clean. The surrounding area is quiet (very close to a Spar as well). They have two kayaks you can use for free (just need to put down a deposit that gets returned).

Beds were a bit on the small side, but for a night that was fine. The location overlooks a parking lot which is a shame. There's charging for EVs but it's a flat rate of 250NOK, which is a bit high for slow, overnight charging (especially if you didn't need a full charge).

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location, reasonably spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was quite good with reasonable number of vegetarian options. Quite helpful staff.

This is not really a negative. Probably just a strange coincidence and unsure what to make of it :), but this was the 3rd consecutive hotel in the Nordics which we had booked couple of months ahead in time, and where we ended up getting corner rooms exactly at the end of longish corridors!! Fourth time lucky? Let's see!! :)

Larger hotel than expected, small but comfortable room, we could see the lake across the other hotel buildings, excellent breakfast choice; gym available; extremely friendly staff, nice ambience, many comfy areas to sit, free bike rental, free car parking

asked for quiet room, but faced the noisy road, drain smell in bathroom and weak water pressure in shower; would not choose the restaurant on a busy day as food was cold and when lovely waitress brought a replacement dish this was cold too. It might be ok on other days.

I recently stayed at this excellent hotel and was thoroughly impressed by the breathtaking views from my room. The serene surroundings and beautiful landscape provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of my stay was enjoyable. The room was clean, spacious, and well-appointed, offering all the comforts needed for a pleasant stay. The on-site amenities, including the spa and dining options, were top-notch and added to the overall experience. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy some peace and tranquility in a stunning setting.

The access to kayaks on the water was a welcome surprise! I took a lovely paddle and then utilized the spa afterwards. The breakfast was delicious!!

The steam sauna was not working and I got a small burn in the dry sauna on the metal rim of the backrest, beware!! The hot tub was not very hot. But it was a nice rest after paddling. I don’t think they should charge full price if steam sauna is not available.

An excellent hotel with great views, right next to the King's view! Really clean, tastefully decorated, and excellent value. The staff are superb, really helpful and engaging. My initial encounter with the woman from reception was particularly good - she was keen to show me the oldest room in the hotel, as the hotel is the oldest (or one of the oldest) in Norway. Room sizes are decent, and really quiet. Bathrooms are also excellent. I liked it so much I stayed an extra night! Loads of parking, and a petrol station and supermarket right next door. Lots of restaurants within easy reach by car should you not wish to dine there. Make sure you make time to walk up the Kings view - you won't regret it!

Surprised by the size over 200 rooms set around the 17th century old building as shown. Exceedingly modern but sympathetic to couples. Families well catered for in the modern dining area, we loved the breakfast in the historic part. Terrific gardens and walking areas. Super staff especially Alvide on reception. Great artwork too

Perfect! All good. Breakfast was delicious. Love the homemade strawberries and wild berries compote on pancake with sour cream. Room was clean and spacious. It would be better if the mattress was firmer but that is personal preference. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had fun playing the Shuffle board.
