Situated in the most lush green gardens with the regional plants, the Hotel is tucked away in the more residential area of Funchal. The Hotel is well designed, however needs to take into consideration - accessibility issues. Yet breakfast time was always a treat having the most pleasant and cheerful waiters who were ready to assist me with fresh scrambled eggs or more fresh fruit. In all the breakfast selection was your normal hotel breakfast. Location - if you'd like to wake up to a panoramic view of Funchal, this hotel will definitely be a hotel you'll remember. Slightly out of the hotel trail and city center but was able to and back from the hotel via the Funchal bus service that is regular and efficient.

I was disappointed to find that the Spa was deactivated, as I was expecting to do a Spa day on my birthday and another day - massage. And the pool didn't have heated water - March 2023. Found an unexpected visitor in the room which I warned the cleaning lady. Otherwise a Hotel with enormous potential yet needs to improve its strategy and priorities.

The facilities were very good. Nice and big rooms. Very clean

The staff at the breakfast were a bit rude. I just arrived and there were two doors. I entered the one next to the terrace to enjoy the views and first thing is a waitress telling me off for not using the other entrance... So no nice thing first in the morning.. then another waiter told me off for leaving the plate on a table... This is not nice things to start the day... The location if you car is fine. If not a bit far from city centre.

Look, its NOT a 5 star hotel, so if you're specifically looking for that, keep scrolling. However it is a really good price/value deal for a nice hotel, technically about 4 stars. Awesome views from the balcony, nice spacious rooms, great breakfast and pool.

Some of the equipment and furniture were very outdated, old and not functioning properly. The staff was okay, but a little bit grumpy when you ask for anything special. But overall not a big letdown.

I loved the pool area: really beautiful with a great view. The garden round the hotel is also well taken care of and very big. Big room with all necessities and great value for money.

As many said, not a 5 star hotel: no restaurant, no bar and no spa. Hotel needs a lot of maintenance.

Hotel staff, service and facilities were all fantastic - special thanks given to all working at breakfast, unbelievably kind, helpful staff and great food. Rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious; we were also pleasantly surprised that the cleaning staff gave us an ashtray on our balcony after noticing we needed it without us even needing to ask.

This hotel is situated at the top of the hill and bears a slightly unsteady way of getting downhill (no pavements) but you quickly get used to it. For future, it might be a good idea to give some water bottles in the room at the start of stay as we were confused about drinking water from tap (fact is, you can!). Free wifi signal is a bit poor from rooms and I was on my data plan throughout the trip, but this was was a minor issue.

This was out of season and the price was great value for money. Being out of season, the restaurant wasn't open in the evenings, but there are loads of good restaurants in town. Breakfast was great, also the swimming pools. Hotel is situated on the side of a steep hill in lovely gardens, so you get great views, but that means it's a steep 15-20 min walk down to the centre, and up again. Getting the local buses is not difficlt, though. Routes 10, 10A, 11, 14 & 92 go either past or nearby the hotel.

The beautiful location, perfect view and gardens around the hotel made the atmosphere remarkable :) We loved having breakfast at the terrace :)

The water in the indoor pool was cold, the jacuzzi, sauna & spa didn't operate at the time, so it looked like some of the facilities that were included in the description were not really available. I could point out a few downsides here, but the location of the hotel and the spectacular views meant that we didn't pay much attention to these downsides and overall we were very happy with our stay :)

Wonderful view, pool, breakfast was also great and the location is also good I believe - eventhough we didnt book a car but could use bus and walked. The garden is also faboulous.

This hotel was amazing in the past but now it feels its difficoult to have maintenance everywhere. The air conditition didnt work, it was very hot in the room when we arrived and then we just left the doors open to have some air. I left a cookie in the table and in the morning it was full with ants. I didnt go and complain about anything but it should not be like this. I recommend to stay there not a lot but check the island- however for sleep only we are satisfied!

The views, the interiour and the exteriour - fabulous! Stunning! And the great service, especially when we missed our connecting flight and finally made it there about 9 hours later and we got to have some breakfast just as they were closing. Thank you! Quiet and peaceful. The bus connection with the city centre was brilliant. Google maps help with the schedules.

The beds are pretty rock hard, the pillows old and hard feather pillows and one of our beds made so much noise when you moved that we both woke up every time the other person changed sleeping position.

Breakfast was very good, great selection available. Location was a little difficult as it was up cardiac hill :) but there were plenty of taxis available in the Centre. If you're fit and able then it was ok, got the old ticker going that's for sure. There are not many hotel staff working there but you get quality not quantity. They are very knowledgeable. The views are amazing. If you have a choice of when you're going to book a holiday to Madeira, try and coincide with a festival, the flower festival was on when we went and the streets all full of locals and tourists all day and night, eating, drinking and dancing, the atmosphere is amazing. One point to note! If you ask anyone how far away something is... they'll give you the answer in mins not miles or km's :)

If the spa would of been open, this place would of been fabulous. The jacuzzi wasn't working, there was no one to man the bar in the indoor pool area. The swimming pool was freezing so we weren't brave enough to have a dip. There were facilities for massages and treatments but it wasn't open. This Hotel would of been amazing if these facilities were open to clients.
