WOULDNT RELEASE DOOR CODE UNTIL AFTER I HAD PAID TOURIST TAX. DIFFICULT TO PAY AS BANK TRANSFER LINK DID NOT WORK. NOT AT HOME AT TIME SO MADE IT MORE STRESSFUL, ON HOLIDAY IN PORTO, EVENTUALLY PAID BY OTHER METHOD. NO FACE TO FACE CONTACT WITH OWNERS, MESSAGES ONLY VIA WHATSAPP. FLOOR STANDING LIGHTS IN LIVING AREA AND SMALL TABLE WOULD HAVE BEEN USEFUL. CURTAINS DONT BLOCK OUT LIGHT. BOOKING.COM DESCRIPTION SAID THERE WAS A COFFEE MACHINE AND A TOASTER WHICH WERE NOT PRESENT IN THE APARTMENT. THERE IS A BUILDING SITE DIRECTLY OPPOSITE THE APARTMENTS, WORKING HOURS ARE DAYLIGHT 6 DAYS A WEEK, ANGLE GRINDER NOISE PARTICULARLY ANNOYING. NO LEFT LUGGAGE FACILITIES ADVICE IS TO BOOK EARLY AFTERNOON FLIGHT HOME, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE DRAGGING YOUR LUGGAGE AROUND WITH YOU ALL DAY.

Great location in the heart of the old town. Very well equipped, comfortable bed. Nicer than the pictures show it to be. Stayed in the studio which was on the third floor accessible by a lift, no noise at night despite central location.

Lovely good sized apartment, with the ability to have windows open and let in fresh air whilst also keeping privacy as there are lockable shutters beyond the windows. The air conditioning worked a treat in the bedroom and I was able to sleep well for the entire trip which is a big plus. The use of a kitchen on holiday makes things a lot easier with a full size fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, and an oven and washing machine should you need them. Excellent location, just around the corner from Funchal's Rua de Santa Maria where you can view the famous painted doors along the cobbled stone street. There are also numerous food options for eating out within a 10-15 minute walk and supermarkets not too far away - there is a good sized Pingo Doce supermarket down the escalator from Anadia shopping mall and I would also recommend the Continente Modelo Seminaro if you are looking for gluten free bread and cakes, there is a gluten free section towards the back of the shop. The cable car for Monte Palace Gardens is also not too far away - beware long queues if you decide to use this. I used the local bus instead at €1.95 per journey.

The water from the shower did not drain away well and the bathroom floor was wet as a result after most showers. There was lovely water pressure in the shower though. Also, housekeeping comes fairly early to clean the apartment, at 9am-9:30am daily. If you are out on tours, this will not affect you as tours can start around 8:30am but otherwise expect a door/ buzz around this time and if you are not ready to go out you can ask the friendly housekeeping staff to come back later or let them know if housekeeping is not needed. There can be vehicle noise outside the apartments but if you have the windows closed at night, this shouldn't be an issue.

The accommodation is equipped with all necessary equipment. The room is big, the bed is clean and comfortable.

I did not feel the safest in the location.

The location is a m a z i n g Well equipped Big Very clean Free parking If i knew and understood ahead it will be like that i would book for more than 3 days. The photos are not doing justice ,its way better and bigger than looks. Everything u wanna see in funchal is right there A lot of restaurants close by,the sea,the cable car is 4 min walk. Having a parking and a free one very cimfterable we didnt move the car at all while there. All so close. Entered and had a good smell of clean. The sofa was made for an extra bed and it felt warm and welcoming. Our daughter loved playing with the ping suitcase decor and loved the concept of breaffast in a bag on the doorhandle Thank you we had a wonderful time will recommend it completly

Shower stream could be stronger,the matress at room was soft and we like firm.

Really big apartment compared to other places I stayed on Madeira. Central location, parking belonging to the hotel, good communication in case of issues.

The parking was very tight, if you have a bigger car you might not fit in. Also there is limited number of spots so people coming in the evening when there are no free spots anymore can block you. You can hear noises from the corridor and other apartments and the fridge is in the same room as the bed, so you might want to bring earplugs.

The location is great, close to the city centre, but also in a quiet place. The apartment was modern and clean with everything we needed.

The parking is only for experienced drivers who can navigate between a few centimetres of space. We heard people every morning trying to get the car out of the parking place and navigating the driver centimetre by centimetre out. Once you park there, it is not certain that you will be able to leave unless the other cars leave first.

The location was fantastic and the apartment was clean and spacious it had all facilities that you need on a day to day basis it felt extremely secure and was a fuss free check in. Cristina was extremely helpful and always answered any query we had… I would highly recommend this as a place to stay if you ever want to stay in Funchal. Also the famous Funchal market was a 5 minute if that walk away and you are so close to the seafront the price was extremely good aswell will definitely book to stay here again if there is availability when we decide to return. Madeira is stunning.

The only small issue we found was that the hot water was on a meter and when we was getting ready to go out my partner would have to have a shower then turn it off for 5-10 mins then I could have mine but that’s such I minor thing It would not effect my rating

The accommodation is exactly as described in the photos. It’s comfortable and equipped with all the necessities. We really liked that it was close to the old part of Funchal and the fruit and vegetable market. The picture on the wall in the room is beautiful and leaves a good impression. Aesthetically, the place is well thought out, with each floor themed around cities from around the world, which is quite inventive. It was regularly and thoroughly cleaned each day. I highly recommend it.

Check-in was done online and we entered the accommodation using a code that we received from Cristina the day before our trip. Cristina came by a few days later and introduced herself, we found this very pleasant. Communication with her was always very quick and pleasant, and every issue could be clarified easily. The apartment was always clean and the staff is very nice. The historical center and all the restaurants are within walking distance from the apartment. We would definitely recommend the Travelers Pearl.
