Location & staff were excellent

The room was basic & tired, not the most comfortable, as we had expected. Pillows & bed were a little uncomfortable, the shower was also very basic & was leaking, coffee & tea provided but no milk was available, free of charge, only in the mini bar which was chargeable. We have also booked another room for New Year’s Eve as it has a roof top terrace to find as residents we do not have access to & have to pay extra…. Disappointing all round. Although we have to say, the Staff were excellent & accommodated are needs whilst we stayed, above & beyond!

If your room faces the interior garden can get a bit noise due to the music and people chatting on the rooftop terrace bar

We loved everything about this hotel. We were traveling with our service dog and everyone made us feel very welcome. My husband had to go to the hospital while we were there for a back injury and the staff was amazing in how they took care of us and our dog. The hotel itself was so beautifully and creatively decorated. If you get the chance to experience dinner at the rooftop patio and listen to live fado music ,you will be in for a wonderful and memorable time. The location could not be any better. If you are going to Funchal you should treat yourself by staying here!

Incredible Stay – They Made My Birthday Unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay special. For my birthday, they surprised us with a handwritten note, a bottle of champagne in the room, and even two free drink vouchers for their stunning rooftop bar. It was such a thoughtful and personal touch—it genuinely made my day. The decor throughout the hotel was beautiful, stylish, and clearly well thought-out. Everything felt elegant and welcoming. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of everything, making it super easy to explore. But what really sets this hotel apart is the staff. Every single person we encountered was kind, helpful, and genuinely invested in making our experience a great one. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I can’t recommend this place enough. From the ambiance to the location to the little surprises—they truly nailed it. Can’t wait to come back!

Such an amazing experience from check-in to check-out. The roof terrace was a highlight, amazing cocktails and food, a little hidden gem. The little spa area and pool, another highlight, you get to book for an hour an have it completely to yourself. Fantastic breakfast, a crazy choice of food from sausages, eggs, fruit, cakes, pastries…it’s endless! Our room was spotless, with really nice touches, in our last night we came back to the room to find a bottle of fizz, the hospitality just it blew us away. We’d love to go back to see the fireworks for New Year next year, they said you have to book a year in advance…they’re already fully booked…a testament to this amazing hotel!

A wonderful designer boutique hotel in the heart of Funchal. The hotel is located at the centre of the town and at the same time close to the sea. The rooms are furnished very thoughtfully, we had a very comfortable stay there. We even had a small kitchen in our room. The breakfast is excellent, there's not a big choice, but everything is tasty and fresh. The great bonus is the rooftop terrace with a magnifique view of the whole city, and at the same time very cozy. The hotel also has a very good Italian restaurant nearby. The staff is super friendly and very attentive. Our daughter was delighted with her daily popcorn!

A little quirky but provided everything we wanted and the location for exploring the old town was quite superb. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful and cheerful. The small roof top bar was a true delight.

Whilst our two rooms on the top floor were perfectly adequate and comfortable, they only possessed a small skylight. We would have preferred a window with views and more access to fresh air. However this is a minor criticism and in no way spoiled our stay.

Outstanding in every way. The friendly and very helpful staff helped to make our holiday in Madeira a great success, and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The excellent breakfast was also a big plus. The hotel is right next to the cathedral, so in the heart of the city, so everything was in easy walking distance. They have a lovely restaurant, O Calhau, right next door, and we went there several times because it is so good.

Lovely property. Beautiful aesthetic! The hotel decor is really gorgeous (great Instagram pictures for those who care?)Loved the cute cups and plates used at breakfast. Enjoyed the breakfast, always had so much variety. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. They gave suggestions whenever we asked about things to do around the island. The private indoor pool experience was also lovely. Enjoyed being outside on the terrace, the views are pretty nice. Complimentary sparkling wine was also very much appreciated. The hotel restaurant also had really good food as well ate there a couple of times. Fatima and the rest a really great hosts!

Our beds were uncomfortable. Bathroom vent was not working.

Breakfast was amazing with a lot of choice and beautifully prepared. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Comfortable apartment. Very well equipped. Well cleaned everyday. Very comfortable bed. Roof top bar- brilliant Coffee machine in room Hotel was very central in Funchal

Near the apartment building was being under taken and some days we could not stay in the room - hammer drill! The communal lift in the apartment block was very old and quite scary to use. Swimming pool.
