Location & staff were excellent

The room was basic & tired, not the most comfortable, as we had expected. Pillows & bed were a little uncomfortable, the shower was also very basic & was leaking, coffee & tea provided but no milk was available, free of charge, only in the mini bar which was chargeable. We have also booked another room for New Year’s Eve as it has a roof top terrace to find as residents we do not have access to & have to pay extra…. Disappointing all round. Although we have to say, the Staff were excellent & accommodated are needs whilst we stayed, above & beyond!

Central located,excellent breakfast lovely staff,comfortable bed spot on clean.

If your room faces the interior garden can get a bit noise due to the music and people chatting on the rooftop terrace bar

This place was exceptional! The hotel is very beautifully decorated. Every corner is ”instagram worthy”. Great location, most friendly staff specially Jorge! Room cleaning was always punctual and did a great job. I am generally a bad sleeper but the beds here were super comfortable and I slept really well. Our room was Standard but it felt completely luxury! Good breakfast, indoor pool could be booked for just yourself, close proximity to everything like marina, avenue, supermarket, cable cars. Will definitely book again!

I loved this hotel completely but there are a few suggestions to make it further better! - Would be nice if they offer like a small breakfast basket for those with dietary restrictions like celiaki. We got gluten free bread and cereal which was much appreciated but watching all other guests enjoying delicious cakes and pastries was tough 😅. We have seen in Italy that the good hotels offer gluten baskets that contain stuff like chocolate muffins, croissants etc. - The glass the separates bathroom and room is not soundproof.

This hotel is in a great location and has a nice rooftop bar and good breakfast, and the staff was super friendly and helpful with all our questions and in giving us recommendations.

We unfortunately had an interior room with little to no ventilation, and the bathroom distribution was a bit awkward as the mini sink was inside the room itself. But it was manageable for a few nights. On the other hand, the bed was really comfortable and there was coffee and tea restocked every day. There was also a mini bar with water and wine, although quite pricey. I wish they also offered complementary milk for the coffee and some water.

Smart hotel in the centre of town. The room was spacious with a kitchenette which included a sink, tea making facilities and a mini fridge. The breakfast spread was amazing and varied day by day. The rooftop bar was a great place to go before and after heading out for dinner, one night there was live acoustic guitar music, really lovely. The free popcorn was a fun gimmick, which we made the most of every day.

The only downside is this hotel is located in a pedestrian area of town which means you'll need to carry or drag your luggage ~100m to the nearest taxi rank.

We loved everything about this hotel. We were traveling with our service dog and everyone made us feel very welcome. My husband had to go to the hospital while we were there for a back injury and the staff was amazing in how they took care of us and our dog. The hotel itself was so beautifully and creatively decorated. If you get the chance to experience dinner at the rooftop patio and listen to live fado music ,you will be in for a wonderful and memorable time. The location could not be any better. If you are going to Funchal you should treat yourself by staying here!

Incredible Stay – They Made My Birthday Unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay special. For my birthday, they surprised us with a handwritten note, a bottle of champagne in the room, and even two free drink vouchers for their stunning rooftop bar. It was such a thoughtful and personal touch—it genuinely made my day. The decor throughout the hotel was beautiful, stylish, and clearly well thought-out. Everything felt elegant and welcoming. The location couldn’t be better—right in the heart of everything, making it super easy to explore. But what really sets this hotel apart is the staff. Every single person we encountered was kind, helpful, and genuinely invested in making our experience a great one. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I can’t recommend this place enough. From the ambiance to the location to the little surprises—they truly nailed it. Can’t wait to come back!

Such an amazing experience from check-in to check-out. The roof terrace was a highlight, amazing cocktails and food, a little hidden gem. The little spa area and pool, another highlight, you get to book for an hour an have it completely to yourself. Fantastic breakfast, a crazy choice of food from sausages, eggs, fruit, cakes, pastries…it’s endless! Our room was spotless, with really nice touches, in our last night we came back to the room to find a bottle of fizz, the hospitality just it blew us away. We’d love to go back to see the fireworks for New Year next year, they said you have to book a year in advance…they’re already fully booked…a testament to this amazing hotel!

The rooms were spacious and kept very clean. The breakfast was lovely, as was the food in the restaurant. The staff were helpful. The reception area is lovely & quirky!

The swimming pool was unavailable for our stay due to renovations, we hadn’t been told this in advance. (We had a group member that had a foot injury and would have liked to use it while we were out hiking.)The terrace bar was also being refloored and closed for one day that we were there.

Great location just behind the cathedral, a short walk to the harbour, quiet area, many restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant next door was very convenient, with very good quality food and lots of choice. The roof terrace bar had great views over the sea, and there was a fado performance and other events throughout the week. A driver to and from airport was arranged by the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.
