The location was perfect, in the middle of the city center, and from my room, which was facing the front side, I could even see the harbor. Everything is in walking distance, most restaurants, the harbor, the cable car, and even the airport shuttle can get until the front door. Super nice staff, the room have names of hiking trails, there is a huge map of the island on the wall in the breakfast room, everything is hiking themed and you can make yourself a sandwich to go and take fruits for the hikes.

There were not too many power sockets near the bed, you might want to bring a small Schuko to 3x Euro power adapter, or unplug one of the lamps. Due to the nature of the architecture of the house, my bathroom was super small, but they made the best out of it, the shower is definitely big enough for one person without any issue, that's most important.

Everything went well during my stay. There was a friendly atmosphere and the staff was helpful. I loved the type of breakfast you offer because I found a nice variety of good quality food ( great fresh cheese, yoghurt, excellent bread and fruit ).

In my bathroom the toilet was very close to the wall and that was uncomfortable. Besides, I didn‘t like having to throw the toilet paper in the garbage instead of in the toilet ( but I can understand the reason for that ).

We didn't like the one girl "Catija" (Don't know the spelling of her name) who spoke behind our backs in front of us in Portuguese when we understood what she was saying. We were talking in Afrikaans (Our home language in South Africa) everyday and while we were having breakfast, she spoke to her colleague about us that she doesn't like us and one of us keeps on pulling a face etc. For us as a guest, needs to feel welcome every time etc. We spoke to reception and both said it was not the first time that guests complained about her.

I really loved the place, from the amazing and really helpful staff to delicious breakfast and amazing location in the city center. Also I love the details, so names of the rooms based on Levadas around Madeira was very cute detail. Plus when we had the early morning hiking trip, they were so nice to prepare snack for us for the trip. If you are planning a stay in Funchal, I HIGHLY recommend to stay in Zarco! Our room was directly above the breakfast area, so we could hear staff preparing breakfast. Even when it woke us up, the staff was so nice and friendly that we were not that bothered by it after all.

The location is the best. I met people whose accomoddation was so far they had to walk a kilometer or more.. i was at home in 2 minutes.. so you can stay in the city without a time limit for yourself (as a solo traveler). The shower was perfect.. I need the same at home.. after a tiring and exciting daily dose of walks an adventure it was very welcome to have a good shower... and last but not least.. Andre and Jean were very open and welcoming. I had great chats with them each day.. thank you both...

The room has no window to the outside world, so no natural light and fresh air...but then with the vivid Madeiran nights maybe that's not a bad thing considering the noise from the streets or bars around. The room is very compact but for a solo traveler like me who was only there to sleep, shower and for a short rest it was all I actually needed for the short 5 nights of stay...

Location is just perfect, in the middle of old town, very close to airport bus stop, few minutes walk from the Santa Maria street. Coffee was surprisingly better than in other bigger hotels in Madeira :)

Breakfest variety could have been better, no warm options. The room is very tiny (which we expected based on the photos), but the bed was short, too! I (185 cm) could not fit without having my feet levitating in the air, which was disappointing. The bed itself was quite soft to my taste. Surrounding of the B&B is rather busy in the evening & during the night, so we could hear people shouting in the middle of the night, but this is the price for value accommodation with center location.

The hotel location is central , there is a supermarket beside the hotel and many restaurants around. The marine is 1 min walk from the hotel. The hotel is soo clean and breakfast was basic but good to start the day. The hotel is good for a short stay especially if you will go for hiking or trips.

The toilet seat was just opposite the wall you can barely sit! I think the room is good for one.

1.) The location is in the center, you can go everywhere on foot. 2.) New interior and such fresh vibes throughout the hotel. 3.)Helpful and friendly staff. There was no problem checking in, checking out. Immediately upon check-in, they told us that in case of need (hiking or going to the airport early), we can prepare breakfast to take away.

BIGGEST minus - noise! Noise from outside (cafes, bars down the street, and across the street). But also the noise from the hallway (in the room you can hear everyone who comes up the stairs/down the stairs.) Talking in the hallway, etc. If you are a fragile sleeper, consider staying. The rooms are small but of adequate size. Only the bathroom is relatively narrow. As people mention in feedbacks that you have to climb over the pot to take a shower. I also managed to hit my head against the upper edge of the shower 2 times. But that's a little thing. People with "wider hips" might want to consider staying here. It is possible to park the car only in city paid parking lots. Or approximately 10-15 minutes' walk from the hotel in the wallet-free zone.

AMAZING! From the welcome to the bye. All the staff is adorable! Jaime, Coby, and the ladies (sorry, I don't remember your names girls, 2 in reception, and the cleaner). Beautiful decoration, comfortable, extremely clean. Fantastic, very complete full breakfast. Fresh and tasty! Excellent bed! New & very comfortable. Beautiful views of the coast from the bedroom. Delicious shower in a very nice bathroom. PERFECT location! Impossible to improve! 100/100 Already recommended it to all my friends and my son. As well as planning to come back. Impossible to find a bad point.

It was clean and modern. Kettle supplied in room. Small fridge. The location is great, right in the old town near everything. The breakfast was good with a lot of choice. Staff were friendly. Bottled water was left for us.

Our room was noisy, from noise in the hotel, as it is very echoey. Our window opened into the breakfast area, so we were woken by staff preparing breakfast at 6.00 am. The bed was too hard and pillows hard and lumpy.
