The beds were really comfortable, everything was very clean. Quiet place, cute welcome treats. Small, but decent pool. Nice dinners, really good food. Special thanks to Anastasia in the restaurant for making us feel welcome on our last night :)

The breakfast was a bit mundane, some items were not replenished at all. The room was kind of dark due to vegetation, but I expected it from other reviews. My biggest comment would be on some staff. It felt like they were made to work there, the courtesy was not sincere, but honestly we did not have much good experience with locals, so maybe it's a cultural thing. The reception ladies did not offer any help or invited questions themselves, which you usually expect in a smaller hotels like this. One simple comment to ask any questions at the check-in would help us feel differently.

Our room was nice and clean with a huge window into the garden so we could listen to birds. Also the garden offered some places to relax. The pool and sauna were fine and empty during our stay although the hotel seemed quite full. The location was great for hiking trips. The breakfast was enjoyable and satisfactory. We especially liked huge tea nad coffee pots.

We vere surprised we could not book a table for dinner the day of arrival as the restaurant was already fully booked. We tried an option in the nearby village that was sufficient in terms of quality but much better in terms of price compared to the hotel restaurant.

The hotel is very pleasant, well preserved and restored. We are glad we stayed here. The location is very nice, particularly the reasonable amount of tourists compared to other over touristy places in Madeira. Santo da Serra is a real local town that we love, especially the restaurants and bars with local food. If lou like something fancier the golf club restaurant nearby is lovely with excellent food at reasonable prices and fantastic scenery. The weather was pleasantly cool. The hotel breakfast is wonderful and service was very good. Ample and easy parking and easy access on foot to local treks and to by car to the airport and all Madeira locations.

The hotel is very nice and clean. Parking is good and private but open air and has space for all guests. Personal is helpful for everything you need. The room has excellent high end amenities for hygiene. The hotel has small number of rooms so it very relaxing. Beds and pillows are very comfortable and excellent.

Not too much glasses in the restaurant for breakfast. Don’t be shy to ask if you need some for a drink. Bring warmer clothes because the hotel is high in the mountain and if there is fog and mist, it can be cold (17-22 °C)

The view from the room to the sea is fantastic! The stuff is very polite and they are seeking for your well being. Thank you very much! The blue sparkling wine was amazing which was served to the balkony when we arrived and the welcome drink was really nice. The concierge women were very nice and they helped a lot!

The humidity was very high and no air conditioning system is installed. The bathroom is a little bit small. The TV channels can be very hardly find. If you pull out the card from the store it ceases the electricity in the plugs as well, so you are unable to charge any equipment if you do not stay in the hotel. The sauna is too small and old and it is valid for the jacuzzi as well.

Clean, quiet and comfortable with very helpful and available staff. Good choice of food for breakfast. Good indoor pool, sauna and small gym. Bedrooms well set out and with tea/coffee and small fridge. Overall a lovely place to stay

Only very minor things: bedroom had very little natural light (a big window and small balcony but the high vegetation is very close). There was not always space in their restaurant to book dinner even if you didn't mind when to eat. Although the village centre is close (600m?) there is no pavement and so it did not feel a safe walk & we drove.

Proximity of Golf, as well as Funchal and levadas-You cannot be bored Overall I’d really recommend this hotel for everyone that wants to have calm peaceful and most relaxing Madeira experience, not only golf players. The hotel is really nice, off the beaten track just as we like it. A charming historical building with good modern facilities attached. The food was really good, and the staff helpful. Would definitely recommend it for those who like to be away from the busy towns, and like smaller hotels. Definitely need a hire car to take full advantage of exploring the island from this ideal base.

we stayed 4 days and had the room on the same floor as the swimming pool, very comfortable. the hotel and the rooms are very nice, everything is clean, spacious room, large bed and outside the room there is a small green corner with a table and chairs. the pool is heated and covered, with sauna. there is a small and functional gym, a hobby space with billiards. lovely staff. possibility of having an aperitif and English tea. there is also the possibility of booking lessons at the golf club.

There is parking but it's a bit small.

Very easy to find and park. Staff were super friendly and we were able to check in an hour early. Bed was comfortable and the back garden was a nice touch. Breakfast was tasty and was kept hot. Had everything from an English breakfast. The indoor pool was a nice little touch but we didn’t have our bathing suits with us due to checking the weather before coming to Madeira.
