Me and my husband stayed there for a week. The location is beautiful, a lot of greenery, and it is away from touristic crowds, that makes it to be authentic and tranquil. There is not much around hotel, but one could get to the nearest city within 10 min drive. The room was a bit old, but clean with an AC. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was served nearly the same all days, but it was sufficient- fruits, cereals, bread, eggs, ham, yogurt, etc. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. I shall also say big thank you to the stuff that was very accommodating, helpful and friendly.

It is a peaceful place. The manager Beatriz treated us warmly, was very attentive and helpful. We felt at home from the very beginning. The house has a cozy atmosphere, especially when sitting in the lounge by the burning fireplace in the evening. We truly enjoyed the dinners, the food was fantastic, better than any we had in restaurants elsewhere on the island. Top notch cuisine! And we were nicely suprised to find an electric kettle in the room. It was not mentioned in the list of room facilities at Booking.com.

We would have liked a selection of teas at breakfast and on the drinks menu, only black tea was available.

I had a wonderful stay at Quinta Da Cova Do Milho. Beatrix, the host, was excellent and went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. Even though I had to check out very early at 3am, she thoughtfully prepared a packed breakfast for me to take along, which was a very kind gesture. The property is located in the mountains, offering a quiet and serene atmosphere—perfect for anyone looking to relax and enjoy nature. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, making it a great escape from the busy city life. One thing to note is that having a rental car is highly recommended, as it makes accessibility much easier and allows you to explore the area conveniently. Overall, a fantastic experience with a warm and thoughtful host. Highly recommended!

Beautiful grounds, full of flowers. Great value for money. We stayed at the Chalet, which was spacious and interesting with lots of artifacts from the past! The staff was very pleasant and we were able to do a late check-in with no problem. The breakfast was nice but I would expect more local products. Do not follow Google maps to get there, follow the instructions the staff will send you! (We made the mistake, roads Google will tell you are horrible).

It was cold at night, and there was only an air-conditioning unit downstairs, and a small oil heater provided upstairs, which broke down the second night (it was replaced the following day). Fireplace not working. The refrigerator did not have an adequately low temperature, probably needs to be fixed too. Fancy jacuzzi shower was not working, only the normal shower head.

Very cool location, nice view from the balcony. Very kind staff and very quiet area. The property looks very nice, is well gardened a d landscaped. Rooms were clean and large.

The breakfast buffet was not adequate for the amount of guests. For example the scrambled eggs container barely held 4 portions - naturally with 12-16 guests during breakfast time, parts of the buffet were cleared out at all times. The old doors and walls are very thin - we were able to hear the TV of the room across from us clearly through two closed doors.

We chose this accommodation because we wanted to avoid big city noise and and it fulfilled our expectations - we really loved the quiet surroundings and beautiful nature everywhere. The hotel was very clean and also breakfast was very delicious - every morning they served scrambled eggs, fresh pastry, ham, beans, bacon, various fruit and vegetables, yoghurts, juice and many other. Personal was a bit struggling with English, however they were always very nice and helpful. One day we went on a trip early and they have prepared sandwiches for us and brought it straight to our room a day before, which we appreciated a lot (this service was free of charge).

It is hard to find what we didn't like. I can think of only one thing which is short shower curtains which causes water to splash everywhere on the floor while taking shower. Also I would suggest to get more flowers or decorations into the hotel rooms - all walls are mostly empty. But otherwise we had a perfect stay.

Quinta is about 20 minutes away from the airport, 15 minutes from highway with a car. If you prefer silent and peaceful cosy stay after a whole day of walking around the island and with delicious local food and pleasant staff at the end of the day, this is a place you'll enjoy. In the morning tasty fresh breakfast to give you strength for hiking on levadas or just being lazy, as I was 😁. Definitely recommending ☀️

The best part of this accommondation is definitely its location. Not only was it half an hour drive from almost everything we wanted to see, but it was also in the middle of island, making it beautifully calm and perfect to sleep. Just keep in mind that it is on almost 700m above the sea level, so it’s has a certain level of air moist - it was positive for us, but it’s challenging to dry out bathing suits for example :)

Beautiful property, the staff is so so so so kind. It is also very clean and the room are super spacious with QC. I have to say, please actually take the main roads. My first time coming, I took the narrow and steep google maps road and I got stuck uphill a few minutes away and I got the scare of my life with damaging my car. I mean it, its not worth it and I’m an experienced drive too…

This lovely house at a beautiful, qiuet place. The staff was very kind.

The house amplified every sound, so we heard some very awkvard noises from the neighbouring rooms at the middle of the night. Also during the day the doors were slammed so loud we jumped at it.
