Room was good, nice common spaces.

Price is relatively expensive for what you get. No breakfast in price, no toiletries in bathroom (even no shower gel!), no hotel service employees at all, rather messy and long reception in restaurant. Restaurant pricelist at least 30%-50% more expensive than in other Madeira places or Porto center (soup above 5- 6 euro, while in other places under 3 euro, main courses above 20 eiro). We regretted going to this place in forests, could have prolonged other much nicer hotel for cheaper price, luckily it was only 1 night stay.

It had the look and feel of an alpine resort, with the main building being wooden and nestled in the hillside, with excellent views. Great atmosphere in the restaurant having our evening meal, with everyone chatting about their day’s walk. We received a warm welcome from Dinarte, who also spoke excellent English and Paula couldn’t have been more helpful in ensuring our stay was enjoyable - thank you. We would definitely recommend Mary and Ian

Beautiful location in the mountains. Stayed there while hiking Madeira from east to west. Spacious and immaculate clean room, big and comfortable bed, good shower, shared kitchen in perfect comdition, nice and clean shared lounge/living room, you check in at the restaurant right next to the rooms, the hosts are absolutely lovely, and I can recommend dinner and breakfast at their restaurant, they close at 7 actually, but some people arrived later and got dinner from the menu, too. So the hosts are an absolute delight.

We came here after long hiking day and we were very cold. The place itself was in high region so there was a heating system inside the room. We ate dinner in the restaurant which is owned by same family. Dinner was amazing also. The bed was comfy, the bathroom was clean. The place itself was very silent. The family was very helpful.

The place looks way better than the photos. The rooms are new, well-decorated and clean. The bathroom is spacious. Quite well equipped shared kitchen but remember to bring your food for dinner/breakfast as there are no grocery stores around. The restaurant next door (where you pick up the keys too) closes at 7pm. Once all the tourists are gone you have the entire area for yourself and it's pretty charming. Dinner and breakfast on the outside patio with the view of the valley and the low clouds was pretty cool. The location is perfect if you want to do some Levada hikes in the area or if you want to be nice and early at Pico do Areiro to enjoy the sunrise and start the hike to Pico Ruivo.

Super nice guesthouse, really clean, everything feels fresh and new. The kitchen is huge, rooms and bathrooms are perfect. Very friendly staff.

It’s next to a busy road (under construction) and not the most beautiful view for a place in the mountains (car park) But that’s just a small thing, because the stay was more than perfect to me :)

If the restaurant had a small breakfast menu it would make things even better

Spacious rooms in a modern house. Shared use of a fully-equipped modern kitchen and attractive lounge area. Meals available at adjacent restaurant. The main reason to stay here is the location, high up in the hills. THe weather is temperamental so, if you stay over you have opportunities to visit the neighbouring viewpoint evening and morning, so more likely to avoid the cloud. Little honey cake in the room for a treat.

The advertised 'mountain view' was a limited glimpse of a scrubby hillside rising steeply behind the building. The adjacent restaurant is pretty good but kitchen closes at 7 ( and the only other option to eat up there closed at 6), leaving a long evening with nothing much to do but watch bad Hollywood films. Breakfast options (not included in room) at the restaurant are pretty limited

Love this place. Everything was perfect. We were in the separate room with own entrance. At first we didn't like that it's without a mountain view but we always came back at night so this was really not a problem. There is a heating in the room! Bed is comfortable, bathroom clean. WiFi is strong, parking available for free. The kitchen is huge and equipped. The owner speaks English and is very nice person.

As there is not a shop nearby I would appreciate to have some basic food available (sugar, salt, tea, oil...)

This accommodation was perfectly situated in the interior of Madeira and had so many incredible sights within minutes of it. We were at Pico De Arieiro in about 19 minutes, drove 10 minutes down the road for the best best dinner on Madeira at Abrigo do Poiso (the Ribeiro Frio restaurant on site was a very close second), walked 5 minutes down the road to the best levada walk on the island, walked 7 minutes down a trail next to the property to the Balcoe Overlook, stumbled on to an incredible area to camp just miles down the road at a stunning meadow filled with sheep and enjoyed the very comfortable bed inside the rental.

The shower was draining just a little too slowly and water backed up in the pan of the floor
