Cute country style hotel in Santana, great location for hikes and beach visits in the north east of Madeira Big rooms, comfy beds Good breakfast Pool

We went on a 6 am hike and asked for breakfast packages instead of the breakfast we paid for and they wanted to charge us extra, on bs grounds: they said we could come back down again and eat a second time… why don’t they just tick off the people who already ate breakfast on a list or something? It really put us off… Hotel could use some updates, its late 80s early 90s country style (but very well maintained!) Food in the restaurant is meh …

Put 10 out of 10 because of price vs quality. The hotel is old, but very clean. You even have a special shower to wash your tracking shoes before the entrance. Good restaurants nearby because it is located in the center of Santana. Was in love with the ability of geraniums as they are especially beautiful in Santana region (they normally grow up to a height of 500 meters from the ocean).

Place to visit only with a car or specialized transfer. Uber and Bolt don’t work within the area. There are some local taxis but it is not so easy to catch them.

Large spotless room with plenty of storage space and huge bed. Very good bathroom. The shower was the best I've had. Good water pressure and adjustable temperature. As a solo traveller, I couldn't ask for more.

The breakfast was disappointing. Plenty of choice, but the simple buffet food was not covered and was exposed to the numerous flies that were very grateful for the freedom to jump from the bread, to the cereals, cakes and even the help yourself fruit bowl. After a couple of days I narrowed my options down and only chose the boiled eggs and coffee. There is a great little bakery further up the hill that serves excellent sandwiches and cakes, so I went there to complete my breakfast.

This property has been developed over many decades, so it rambles and is full of quirky Knick knacks , unexpected staircases. There is loads of room to spread out and relax,. The rooms are large and airy, the beds and linens comfortable. We were given one with a large private balcony with a view of hills …just beautiful. The bar is the oldest area, followed by the restaurant. Locals use this place for family events, so the feeling is very authentic, like you are hanging out with the locals. The prices for food ,drink, and stay are great value for the money. Their restaurant is ambitious, trying to provide a wide range of eating habits…..overall 7/10. The location is right in the centre of Santana, just steps to tourist attractions.

Weekend front desk staff were sullen and unwilling to help. They will be getting a reorientation from the manager owner hopefully.

Great location in the heart of Santana for exploring the northeast of Madeira. My room was clean and had a balcony, which is always nice. The bed was comfortable, the staff was friendly and the WiFi was good. The breakfast was very good (everything I needed). There was lots of parking space available. Having an adjacent restaurant is a considerable advantage after a very long day outside (but enough alternatives are within walking distance).

Everything could do with a bit of modernization and overall, it appears as if the hotel has seen more glamorous days (this is especially apparent in the indoor pool area). The walls are rather thin (greetings to the couple from the next room :-)).

For the price, the hotel was great. The room was quite spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and I slept well. The restaurant was decent, and conveniently attached to the hotel. The brunch was pretty nice.

The hotel was a bit dated. After a big rainstorm, both the wifi and more inexplicably, the cold water went out, so I couldn't take a shower without scalding myself. The registration process was very strange. I received someone else's reservation materials via email, and the address that Booking.com has for the location is somewhere else entirely. Oh! And be advised: There are churchbells. They start at 7am sharp, and repeat, every 15 minutes, until 10pm.

The hotel was spacious with a pool and gym that was free to use (although I didn’t use them), the room was comfortable and clean with a large bathroom and balcony, the included breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice. The hotel was a 2 minute walk from the centre of Santana where the old style houses are. I also found it easy to get a taxi / bolt from here.

It’s a little dated and could do with some redecoration. The room was peaceful until someone used the door to the stairs, which slammed and woke me every time, it just needs a self-closure arm.

This is a great hotel - a nice bright spacious room, balcony, decent sized-bathroom. free car park to the rear of the hotel, attached restaurant/bar and just one minute from touristic Santana and well placed for short drive to local attractions (Pico Areiro/Pico Ruivo)- it even has an indoor pool! The included breakfast was generous and had a really wide choice, and the staff were all excellent.

The pool was indoors, fairly large, but the decor and window decorations (visor) were a bit tired!

The room was spacious, with a large balcony. The price also included a jacuzzi and a swimming pool (indoor). The breakfast was delicious, with a choice of boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms and sausage (hot food). In addition, sausage, cheese, tomato, muesli, yoghurt, fruit salad, sweet pastries, etc. The location was convenient. The bathroom had a spacious bathtub.

We missed a trash can in the room. The shower rooms downstairs by the pool could have had some racks.

Really friendly and helpful staff, the location is great for Santana and surrounding areas, it’s coupled with a bar restaurant and has ample free parking and an indoor pool! The bed was large and comfortable as was the room, the linen and mattress were very good, and the water was nice and hot if you wanted a hot shower!

It’s a bit dated, especially around the pool, restaurant and communal areas, but for a quick stop in northern Madeira it’s more than decent!
