I went out of season and it was really cheap so super value. I would absolutely return because there is much to love about this hotel, but also a couple of areas where it is showing some age. The location is simply stunning and the views to die for. The staff all spoke some English and could not have been more friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and clean, but, my bathroom really needs replacing. The tiles are discoloured with age and whilst it had been well cleaned it still looks poor. I had the cheapest room and others may be better. The outside pool looks fabulous and the Spa was very welcome. Unfortunately the Spa was not staffed and I was unable to get a massage. The food in the restaurant was excellent and both food and drinks were good value. I would definitely return.

It was an absolutely perfect place to stay. Everything is so clean, simple, and elegant in this hotel. The stuff is very helpful, and they really do their best to offer us great, comfortable time. Breakfast with the view and with so many delicious taste was outstanding, and the spa facilities were just as convinient and satisfying. I would like to give a great thanks for Maria, who was especially helpful and kind to us. The main element behind this great place is all this hard working, humble and kind-hearted people who do their diligent job every single day, to create a cozy, welcoming atmosphere for others. Thank you for everything. I will definitely recommend this place to my frends amd family💛

The view is absolutely stunning and the surroundings are very quiet ,you can only hear the birds singing... The restaurant and breakfast were really good, the staff was very helpful and very welcoming and accommodating.

There weren't flippers available to use the spa, and there are specific schedules for children to use the spa area, and they were not respected. A place where is supposed to be quiet and relaxing was filled with children and there was no staff present to remind people of the schedules (which are written in several places). The area surrounding the interior pool is very slippery if you're walking barefoot,my partner even fell 😕 Our suggestion is that someone from the staff should be allocated to the spa area to manage things, since not everyone has common sense. We understand that it's low season, although it would made a huge impact in our spa experience.

The indoor pool should be opened during the night as a suggestion. The outdoor pool during the summer could be dinamized a bit more at night time, with some ambience music, make the most of the bar we have, since there is nothing on the surroundings it would be nice to be chatting and having a drink up until 0h. Also the breakfast could be done until later as we are on holidays and waking up that early is a bit counterproductive. The restaurant could offer more menu variety as it is a bit limited. However, the food served is indeed exquisite 👌

We had twin beds that were larger than normal singles and comfortable, lovely view from our balcony, very clean throughout and all the staff were pleasant and helpful ample parking spaces and lots of beds and chairs round the pool. Excellent breakfast both cooked and continental. We spent three days here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Mostly we liked everything except the dreadful ‘Muzak’ during breakfast.

Location and views are superb, pool and spa great. Rooms are nice, well cleaned and big bed. A very nice touch was a bottle of champagne left for my partners Birthday , nice surprise:)

Menus could be a little more varied, some waiting staff need more training, we preferred to eat in the nearby Pedrogao Grande instead of the restaurant.

We had a great time at Hotel da Montanha! The view was breathtaking, the room as described with an amazing view over the mountain, Barragem do Cabriz and hotel outside pool. Everything was immaculate and staff was very friendly. We enjoyed very much the sauna and out breakfast. The location couldn’t be better, there’s so much to explore around from the passadiços to the many praia fluviais. We will definitely be back!

Everything was great

The room was lovely, as were the beds. Sadly not all the curtain pulleys worked and there were only 2 cups and saucers for 3 of us. It’s a shame that the windows don’t open as I found it impossible to get the aircon right. However, the evening meal was fabulous and breakfast was good too. Also, despite offering spa services, there was no one around working in the spa area or able to do treatments. We were not told this but could have been when we asked for an appointment or towels for the spa or dressing gowns. Instead, we were told that the receptionist would call us or come to the room; sadly, she did neither and we had to keep asking. But our room had a fabulous view…rm321. And the bottle of water was not free.

The fact the curtain pulls didn’t work and that it felt like the receptionist was deliberately not telling us things.

What a find. Out in the middle of nowhere, it was great. Great hotel, good parking. However, in the middle of nowhere, so you have to eat in hotel. We got there at 1730 to be told we cannot eat there as no room in restaurant. With some persuasion, the 'head of catering' got us in, so we could eat. Book a table in advance or don't go. Room was fabulous as was the swimming pool with incredible views. We would definitely go again as long as we can book a table. Next time we will stay longer, it's that good.

Refusal for food. Not even a bar menu. We were close to leaving, but so glad we didn't.

We booked a simple double room as we spend very little time in it. We were offered an upgrade but didn't think it was necessary for our plans for our 4 night stay. The hotel has a spacious pool area with plenty of loungers and a pool bar serving snacks and drinks. Breakfast was excellent as were the evening meals we had in the restaurant. The staff were extremely pleasant. Situated as it is on the top of the hill the views from the pool area and restaurant looking down on the Zezere barrage and beyond into the hills are stunning (pity about the windmills but they're every where now). We parked the motorbikes opposite reception but the hotel provides ample parking to the one side. The best access road is not the one opposite the fuel station which is narrow and steep but further along - still quite steep but wider - at the cobbled T junction go right.
