I had an excellent stay at Fontinha Porto and I’m already planning my return! This was my first visit to Portugal and my first solo trip. The hotel is exactly as pictured, clean, modern, comfortable and well decorated. Check-in was quick and easy and I received a welcome drink on arrival. I upgraded my room on arrival to one on the 4th floor, (possibly picture 39) and it was very peaceful and quiet. Everything in the room was perfect - there was ample storage, great shower pressure/temperature and a really comfortable bed which ensured a great night’s sleep. The staff were friendly, extremely responsive and helpful both via message on booking.com before my trip, and in person once I arrived. They kindly ironed some of my clothes for me, loaned me an adapter and also left a thoughtful gift and card in my room for my birthday. The hotel is perfectly situated a 10-15 minute walk from the town centre, downhill into town and uphill on the way back. Its also close to the train/bus so easy to get around. As a lone female I felt very safe the entire time, even when walking home at night. (The pictures are slightly blurry as they’re screenshots from the video I took). Thanks again to everyone a for a perfect stay! I have recommended the hotel to family and friends and can’t wait to return. :)

We had an amazing stay at the Fontinha Hotel! The staff was friendly, and the room was clean and beautifully decorated. The location may not be the closest to the main attractions but we enjoyed a pleasant walk back every night. One night, after a long day of sightseeing, we opted for an Uber, which is relatively affordable in Porto!

Beautiful hotel. On arrival we had a lovely cake and a bottle of champagne in the room complimentary as we were celebrating. This was a lovely gesture by the hotel and very much appreciated. The Italian restaurant in the hotel was delicious as was the breakfast which had something for everyone. Great hotel and would definitely stay again should we return to Porto.

Had a bit of an issue getting an iron as the hotel had only two which is not near enough to accommodate all the quests. However housekeeping went above and beyond to get one for us. Hotel about 30 minutes walk uphill from town centre but we knew that and it suited us.

Fabulous hotel. Spotlessly clean. I was in a king size room and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was great. Most importantly every member of staff were so professional, helpful and very friendly.

There was nothing I didn't like.

Fontinha is a newly renovated modern hotel, close to the center of Porto. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and quiet in a location away from the busy tourist area. The breakfast was really good too, and there was also a lovely garden space in the back of the hotel that no one seemed to use. You could only see it if your room faced the back. The only down side is that it was a 30 minute walk down to the old town on the river, and then a 30 minute walk back all uphill. It wasn't a problem for us, but if you want to be closer to the action you might want to look for something closer.

The staff was truly exceptional! They went out of their way to help us with anything we needed, and were very kind! The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean and very comfortable, as well as being very stylish. It was also very quiet and easy to get sleep.

The property is a little bit of a distance from the main sites, but it really was not a problem because the staff would always give us taxis and they were very reasonable. Also because of the distance from the main tourist areas, it was quieter at night, which was something we wanted. So that ended up really not being something that I can say was a real negative.

Fair good location if you don’t mind a short walk. About 10-15 minute (downhill) walk down to the main area by the river. We always got an uber back though! Didn’t fancy the walk back up hill. Air conditioned hotel. Staff always available, friendly and helpful. A small snack / drink available at reception perfect on arrival or leaving the hotel. Nice touch. Felt safe in side.

If I had to pick, the pillows weren’t great. Very chewed up inside. Couldn’t get comfortable. Another night, and likely would have requested a different set. Not enough to put me off staying here again though.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel — it was beautifully designed, clean, and overall high quality. The room was more spacious than expected, with a great shower and bathroom setup. I especially appreciated the hidden garden area on the second floor — a lovely surprise — and the location couldn’t have been better for exploring the city.

That said, there were a couple of small things: the in-room lotion had been replaced with a second soap, which was a bit odd. And the lighting in the room was pretty terrible — definitely not makeup-friendly (ladies, bring your own mirror or lighting if that’s important to you). Classic case of a hotel room clearly not designed with women in mind. Still, those were minor issues in an otherwise great stay — I’d definitely return!

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It was rainy and cold weather outside, so we spent majority of our time inside. Funnily enough, I loved staying in the hotel more than city itself. The interior design of the common areas and rooms are so unique and luxurious that you feel the zen and relaxation the minute you enter the space. The staff is always available and very helpful. If you're interior designer - you must stay here. :) Portuguese-made bed linen and towels. European-made decor. Very good breakfast, savoury vegetarian option available (although you need to ask for plant-based milk). The restaurant in the hotel is very convenient option with delicious pizza. The hotel breakfast was good enough. If you checkout earlier than the breakfast, the staff will provide the super lovely breakfast box (water, juice, fruit, sandwich, croissant) on request. I must admit that this hotel presents like a 5-star hotel.

I wish there was an option with AC and not only ventilation as it was hot inside and we needed to open the door to cool down the room temperature, but it was a bit loud to keep in constantly open at night. I would suggest to add the wholegrain bread (not buns) and some fresh vegetables to the breakfast stand.

Property was well presented, clean and easy to get around. It was slightly further out of the main areas I wanted to be in - something to be mindful of as a solo female traveller. But easy to access the metro and if you’re happy walking (including up/down hills!) then it’s absolutely fine!

I found the room and building in general quite hot (although this might just be personal preference of sleeping in a cooler room!) - the air con/fan seemed to turn on but I didn’t feel a great effect. The balcony door/window didn’t open fully so I couldn’t take full effect!
