The room itself was great. It's a tiny space but with a great view from the room window and there is a little espresso machine in the room. There is plenty of hot water and the heating/cooling system works great. I really was very comfortable here!

The only thing I struggled with was that due to the location being the lowest part of town, anywhere you'd want to see or the main things to do in Porto are 20-25 mins uphill. And when I say uphill, I mean winding narrow staircases that Google maps takes you up. For early morning tour bookings etc you have to go uphill into town at 7/8am in the morning and evening though there is a bus station right across the street, the bus was running on a different schedule than what Google Maps showed me. Most days I just bit the bullet and hiked, but it marred my experience a bit. Even Uber takes about 12-15 mins to arrive but this was around New Years so maybe that's why. If you're a regular hiker and enjoy a bout of cardio, then this place is perfect for you!

Very friendly staff, Marta was lovely and very helpful! Only a 10 minute walk along the front to the Ribeira. Single room was small but cozy, very clean and a great base for exploring, felt very safe here throughout as a solo traveller.

A simple kettle and tea making facilities would be great in the room, coffee machine was a bit confusing to work out, and I'm not a coffee drinker anyway, would have preferred basic tea bags etc, other than that it was ideal.

Hotel was lovely, Staff extremely helpful nothing was too much trouble, gave lots of ideas of where to visit with advise on avoiding the worst hills! Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. Hotel was spotlessly clean. Location was great, quiet neighbourhood, all parts of the city in easy reach. I arrived late, reception was closed but very simple, easy to follow instructions to enter.

No kettle in the room to make a cup of tea. Only a coffee espresso machine is provided, with pods for one a day, if you want more you have to buy them from reception. You could make a tea in the breakfast room, but would be better if you could do this in your room.

The room itself was great, clean, furnished really well had all the necessities and nice bathroom too. Comfortable mattress. We had a small bottle of complimentary local wine from the host which was so lovely too. The view from the room was beautiful, we were on the first floor but still had an amazing view of the river. The street isn’t loud at night, and overall, the hotel is only a short walk in our opinion (20 min, minimal hills) from the town centre where all restaurants and attractions are, including the wine cellars. There is a local supermarket very close down the road as well as a few more restaurants which are a short walk away. The host was lovely and answered all questions and queries we had, very knowledgeable about the area too.

Gorgeous little hotel with great decor in a traditional building built right into the granite rock of the hill behind. It’s only a 10-15minute walk into the heart of town and buses and trams run past. Marta was so welcoming with plenty of tour information and a map set up for 1 to 4 days sightseeing. She also recommended good local restaurants and I went to the closest and had the best meal. Just sorry I wasn’t staying more than one night.

Not that it was a problem for me but there are a few steps (it is Porto after all) to get in the door. However there is a luggage lift

This is a really nice, clean and comfortable hotel! We had a special occasion, and we were very pleased. In our room we had a stunning view from the windows, a spacious room, a capsule coffee machine and a kettle. Breakfast is served in a box - very Instagrammable. The receptionist was very friendly and supported us and helped us with everything. She even left us a postcard, a small bottle of port wine and sweets in honor of our special day! We were able left our things on the day of departure and use common kitchen to have tea/coffee. The hotel is located right next to the river, an old tram runs nearby, there is a wonderful family restaurant and a square nearby where there is a market with cafes and bars. We are very pleased with the location! Everything was clean, hot water, the room was very warm and we didn't even turn on the air conditioning. We would definitely recommend this hotel and visiting Porto!

Had an amazing stay here. The bed was incredibly comfy, and the room was spacious, spotless, and had an unbeatable view of the river from my balcony. The staff were super friendly, especially Iryna, who I looked forward to chatting with every morning. She gave me great recommendations for beaches and restaurants, which made my trip even better. The location is perfect - very central, with just a short 13-min walk to Ribeira. I would highly recommend staying here and will definitely request the same room when I’m in Porto again!

The only downside was during my last two nights, when some guests in the room above were loud at night despite the hotel’s quite hours policy. The reception did their best to address it, but unfortunately, the noise continued.

I am giving the hotel 10/10 because it was immaculate , well located and both the receptionists and the cleaning lady was super friendly and helpful. But unfortunately there was one issue that needs to be addressed. See below.

The rooms and hotel itself was very quiet but the issue is with the lack of soundproofing around the french doors. I hardly slept at all because you can literally hear every single sound from the street / road outside. It felt like there was no window / door at all. I understand it's on a very very busy road but I feel that outside shutters would help to stop so much noise or maybe insulting around the french doors.

The Miragaia suite we stayed in was located opposite the River Douro. The room was comfortable and very clean, and breakfast was nice. Marta is really lovely on the front desk and is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area, so please speak to her.

The traffic noise outside our suite was at times very noisy, but as it was still high season, it is to be expected. However, in Porto itself, there is a lot of construction work going on, which causes mayhem around town and surrounding areas that may not have helped the situation.

Beautiful old house recently renovated to a high standard. Very clean, bed firm and supportive and room well stocked.

As it is an old property there are limits to what can be done about noise from people upstairs. The walls were very well insulated so no sound at all from others on the same floor but above me someone was heavily walking from 3am, they still hadn’t left or become quiet when we left at 9am so it wasn’t just them packing to leave. It did make for 3 disrupted nights sleep unfortunately. There is nothing to be done about this but make sure you pack ear plugs just in case!
