The beds are awesome! The rooms are decent in size but if you like fresh air that's not the type of hotel. You cannot open any of the windows. The hotel is very close to the John Wayne Airport and 20 mins from Laguna Beach, 25 mins from Newport Beach. If you re into the OC then this hotel is well placed, in a business area by the airport. However, it is far from downtown LA. I found the hotel OK, I would not say excellent value for money as it is extremely expensive for the services you get. The room I stayed in had been recently renovated. I believe the whole hotel has been renovated.

Parking rates - $45 dollars/day? Seriously! I did NOT like this, especially that there is absolutely nowhere else to park free in the area. This must be the most expensive hotel parking I have ever had to pay for in my life. Also I did not like that I had to book cleaning with reception every day. The cleaners would not bother even if I put the ticket on the door asking for cleaning. So if you want your room cleaned you need to let reception know and they will book it onto the system. There are no B&B formulae in this hotel. I did not like that we could not open the windows at all. I could not work out the TV - sorry; I tried to add my Netflix account to their TV - impossible; did my headin' and I gave up.

I could have given the staff excellent but the staff of the night of Christmas Eve wasn’t friendly at all. No smile, no words to say after I said thank you for the hot water I asked, he just looked at me like I bothered him. I’ve been asking for hot water since checking in because our coffee maker in the room wasn’t working. The front desk suggested I could ask at the restaurant since he wasn’t able to fix it after checking it. They gave us one the third day, but I still went to the restaurant to get it bc the water is really hot. Stayed there for 3 nights and all bar tender were friendly except for the night of 24 Dec

Beautiful architecture and design. One of the most beautiful hotels I’ve stayed at. And the bar & restaurant are very centered on the lobby, which makes it special. You always see people drinking, hanging out or eating.

The only things I felt missing were mini fridge stock up, as well as water! We did get a couple bottles, but only on check-in. And just for context the weather was hitting the mid 80s. The other thing is the thermostat in the room. It does not goes below 65F, and that lowest setting was keeping the room at 71F, which is way too hot, especially when you’re trying to sleep. And speaking of it, the fan was loud (behind a panel in the room, it kept rumbling a little). Overall it was bad, just these little things that need updating in the room itself. I would definitely stay there again.

Like the remodel and front desk staff.

Lobby bartender was rude and insistent on seeing my ID (meaning I had to go back to my room). He did not ask any if my colleagues who were male. This was at 11:00 am and I am 73 years old successful businesswoman. I think this was the Manager giving the BT a break. My colleagues were puzzled too. The BT from the day before was great with great service.

The staff was very nice and the hotel has had a nice remodel. It is easy access to the freeway and airport. The breakfast was nice with good portions.

The overnight parking rate is $39. Also the desk area does not have a lot of room to spread out and use a laptop if you have to work from your room. The front desk only had one person on duty when we were there so plan extra time.

This is a return booking for me. Perfect again. We did have a problem with our bathroom door not moving ( barn style door) and the hotel sent someone up in 5 minutes and repaired the door with no lingering effects. Great service.

While the restaurant is very nice and the food was excellent, breakfast can be pricey. Just know that ahead of time.

Clean, Modern, great amenities. Staff was excellent. Rooms were spacious, bed was perfect and room was spotless. I know you could practically see the airport from there, but you did not hear any noise at all. I ate ate the restaurant and enjoyed a beverage at the bar. No complaints. Breakfast was terrific. I will be booking this hotel again since I travel here 3 x’s a year.

Loved the hotel’s ambiance and the toiletries in the room. We were in town for a wedding and having a steamer to take out wrinkles for our gown and dress shirt was super helpful. The staff is very respectful and inviting and the cleanliness is top notch.

Parking prices were too high

I loved the view from the 14th floor. Everything in the room was perfect, from the sizing to the decoration. I loved how it was not loud or noisy anywhere. I didn’t get to try the breakfast but I know that I will be staying at Sonesta again when I have the chance.

I can’t really say there was anything that made my experience unpleasant. I think the only issue I had was the staff not fully explaining my receipt to me but then again I could’ve just asked.

The room had a weird smell I asked the lady that was cleaning the rooms if she had something to spray the room because it smell a little bit she gave me this bottle to spray the curtains an floor mats an it took the smell away but other then that everything was good I always stay here when we come to L.A :)
