It’s a very nice looking hotel with great rooms. We had laundry done two times and it worked well. They have a shuttle bus during the day that takes you to and from Kyoto train station. The staff were lovely.

Our room was near an elevator that was really loud through the walls. Tv needs streaming apps.

Clean and comfortable with very nice facilities. We really enjoyed the excellent breakfast. Walking distance from the station.

I like the buffet continental breakfast with different Japanese and Continental breakfast to choose from. We love the location, just 1km from Kyoto Station. And the bus transfer service to the train service was an excellent conveniwnt way for pixkup and dropoff at the station. We love the spacious room and comfortable beds! We had a restful sleep.

I dont understand why the fitness centreand swimming pool are only open between 1-8pm. I hope they open the fitness centre in the morning.

10 mins away from Kyoto station. There are a few restaurants nearby and a 7/11 shop. A bigger shopping centre is within walking distance, 10 min away. The pool is good but a little too warm. The hotel offers shuttle service to the station every 20 mins. The breakfast was very good with lots of different food to choose from. Waiters were prompt and non-intrusive.

Pool is open until 8 and one has to get in before 6:30pm. Toilets look a bit dated. We stayed at Hotel Elcient in Osaka prior to this one, and I wished we had booked at Elcient in Kyoto, too. It was right next to the station.

Second visit at the hotel. We could use the swimming pool/ sauna and the staff asked for extra charge. It seems to me that rhe pool facility should be extra service with charge

The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. There was an ice machine and drinking water refill station on each floor which was fantastic! The rooms were a very good size with a lot of amenities. The fitness suite was a little bit small but had all the main equipment needed for a good workout and the swimming pool and jacuzzi were excellent. The location was excellent with most large tourist sights within 1hr by public transport or 30mins by taxi, Kyoto station was less than a 10min walk and there was always at least 1 taxi at the front door. The luggage transport system in Japan is a fantastic tool which I will be looking for on other holidays now.

Unfortunately the fitness suite and swimming pool opening times were 1:30pm-8:30pm which meant we had to replan our itinerary to come back during the day to use it or cut a couple days short to use it before going out for dinner.

The location for us was perfect, a short walk from the trainstation. The room was a good size and we we based ourself there and travelled out to Osaka, Nara and the Bamboo Forest. Our room was very comfortable and enough space to move around in. Tea and Coffee facilities made it great to come back and get a cup of tea after a whole day out. We had two options for breakfast, the main dinning area which for us was too chaotic and two noisy, although lots of stuff we struggled to get a decent first morning breakfast and then we switched to breakfast at the top of the hotel in the French restuarant, that was a game changer. The breakfast was set menu but it was served at the table and it was wonderful, although we would have liked English Breakfast tea. The hotel was very comfortable, clean tiday and quiet in the rooms we got a great night sleep. The staff were very accomodating with umberellas ect. Lovely hotel.

The breakfast space downstairs was way overcrowded and I didnt think very well laid out which meant everyone was trying to get breakfst at the same time. The however was it was very very busy with bus loads of Americans which didnt help the noise levels and the organisation of breakfast.

Not the best Rihga I've stayed at, they vary so much, but still a very acceptable standard.

Friendly, accommodating staff, great pool, great breakfast and love the rotating restaurant at the top! Water fill stations available and complimentary bottles each day. Convenient shuttle service to/from nearby train station.

My room was on the side of the train tracks so train noise was bothersome at night. Mattress a bit hard for my taste.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel offers some cute maps of the local area and Uji. There is a nice gift shop on the ground floor. The location is good, not a long walk to Kyoto station. Staff were helpful and tried their best to help as much as they could when you had a question. The cleaning staff were especially friendly and polite to guests.

Last entry for the pool and fitness studio is two hours before it closes. This is an unusual policy and it's not clear why this policy exists. It means the pool hours actually end up being quite restricted in the evenings, which is disappointing. The light switches were difficult to work out. I don't think we ever did figure out how to turn some of them on. The switches were in odd locations. The shower products are heavily, heavily scented, so if you have any sort of scent sensitivity you may want to bring your own.
