The hotel met our expectations for a Holiday Inn Express. Comfy beds and good breakfast options. The personnel was helpful and accommodating, they gave us recommendations for free parking in the area. Although it's rather far from the center of Edinburgh, the hotel is very close to several buses and tramway lines that drive through the city center, so it wasn't an issue at all. It also gave us an opportunity to discover Leith and the Shore area, which we might not have seen if we'd stayed closer to the center. Beautiful area with a relaxed feel, ideal for drinks, dinner and brunches.

There was no heating in the bathroom, it wasn't very comfortable stepping out of the shower in the cold. Some aspects of the room could be cleaner (curtains, carpets).

Actually, the main asset of this hotel is its location. Public transport is nearby and easy: tram stop Ocean Terminal is just nextdoor. We came directly from the airport by tram, no changes at all. Several bus lines serving Edinburgh city center have a stop on the other side of the hotel. Right nextdoor as well. We came late home from the Tattoo and could easily get back to the hotel by tram, even very late. Otherwise there's another bus stop served by night bus a stroll away. The parking lot looks nice. 10 Pounds a day. The room was large enough and clean. Excellent bed / sheets. AC worked well. Good TV set / remote / channels. Other advantage: this place is rather easy to reach by car, compared with Edinburgh center which can get very busy and congested. Holiday Inn is located outside of the "chaos" and public transport does the rest!

Breakfast included but the dining room is often crowed. In my opinion (I might be wrong) the architects had not planned this dining room for included breakfast). The staff were running and had a hard time coping with this situation. As a result, a few people were standing and waiting for some dishes to be re-filled. Still breakfast was fine. No reason to cancel your booking for this! I only found a small detail like the floor of the bath room (floor had not been mopped, the water drops had only dried out). Toilet flushing mechanism to be corrected. Pricy: Edinburgh has become a very touristic spot and the price for accommodation has become exaggerated. Not only Hoilday Inn. Too expensive in my opinion.

Having stayed with you before in several other locations we knew what to expect and as usual it was excellent. Staff are always professional, friendly and very presentable. Room facilities were perfect and the beds were really comfortable. Love that you offer to supply toothpaste /brushes etc if guest forget to bring them. Lovely touch. We would definitely recommend staying with you.

Honestly the pizza, burger and chips were slightly disappointing. Well cooked but I think the quality lets you down quite considerably. Again the staff were really nice. Breakfast is great except for the Hash Browns that were awful as they had become soggy. I'm sure they were crispy when they left the kitchen but the dish that keeps them warm steams them. Tiny points I know but they could be easily improved.

I was given a ground floor room which was normally set up for disabled access. I am not disabled but appreciated the space . The room was clean and well appointed and the bed was comfortable. Parking was simple and efficient with a pay point located in the lobby and very helpful staff. The hotel is well situated with convenient public transport links on your door step as well as nice restaurants and bars in the vicinity. Overall it was very well suited for my needs and I would certainly use this venue when visiting Edinburgh in future.

Being Sunday there was a rush on for breakfast towards the end of service. Keeping the buffet sticked and supplied was obviously challenging so folk were hanging around waiting for food to come out as the servers were largely empty.

It was a beautiful room, right next to two diffrent busstops and just a 20 minute walk from leith if you are so inclined. The bed was the comfiest bed ive slept on and even the side furniture was comfy. The staff was super friendly and nice and the cleaning was really well done too. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone comming for a visit.

I would suggest to not go to breckfast before 8 because from atleast my experiance the crossants were cold. And the scrambled eggs were kind of lacking otherwise it was decent. Would however recommend going out for breckfast.

+ Great value hotel room for the location, close to the waterfront in Leith. Just a short walk from the lovely selection of bars and restaurants, and conveniently located for the tram. + Clean and comfortable room, plenty of space + AC worked well + Friendly staff at the reception when I checked in and out. + Tea and coffee making provisions in the room.

- Not really a criticism, more of a tip for other travellers. It took me ages to work out how to turn off the bedside spotlight lamps (the adjustable ones mounted either side of the bed). There is no switch for them. It turns out you just need to fold them into their mounting and they turn off automatically.

Have stayed in more expensive accommodation and not had the same positive experience we had in Leith. Friendly, professional staff who went above and beyond by delivering room service to me as my husband/carer wasn't at the hotel on the evening. Very comfortable bed which made for one of the best nights sleep I've had in a long while, including home where I usually sleep in a chair! Vanity sink at a suitable height for wheelchair users. Room spotless. Great location and knowledgeable staff regarding local transport links into Edinburgh which was helpful.

Once I was sat on the drop down shower seat it was difficult to twist my body to access the toiletries on the wall. Would be better if they were to the right of the shower rather than behind you. Apart from that everything was perfect and we would definitely stay again.

The bed was very comfortable. The room was cleaned very well. The tea and coffee facilities were great. The location was good, there were shops and restaurants near.

The shower curtain came off when I drew it. The whole of the toilet/ shower floor was covered in water after a shower. Had nothing to dry it with. The breakfast was days old. The sausages were hard. The hash browns were soggy the 1st morning then cooked again the 2nd morning and the edges were rock hard. The baps were stale. We stayed in a holiday inn express else where this year. It was cheaper but the standards were a lot better.

The hotel is situated in a convenient location with straightforward access to transportation options. Both the hotel and the room were well-maintained, featuring a spacious and comfortable bed. The welcoming staff further enhanced the overall experience.

The breakfast experience fell short of expectations, as it included cold croissants and unappetizing hash browns, with little effort made to restock food during peak times. Additionally, the air conditioning was malfunctioning, leaving us with chilly air instead of warmth throughout the night.

Although a little far from the center, the hotel is located next to both the tram and bus stops, right near the cruise terminal and all main Edinburgh's attractions can easily be reached in a short time. The staff was kind and helpful, helping us to resolve even small problems during our stay. The breakfast was rich and varied, with genuine flavors and a very wide choice.

In our room there wasn't a toilet brush which should be essential in every bathroom, but that might have been just an oversight as we do not know about the other rooms' bathrooms.
