Loads of parking The check in was flawless with very knowledgable staff. Served quickly at the bar (always a bonus) Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

The booking procedure was a nightmare. First got diverted to an American reception desk who really didn't have a clue. Found a local number of IHG who were not much better but managed to confirm me a booking for £270 Found the same deal on Booking.com £100 cheaper and managed to cancel the IHG one. Just book via Booking.com and then there won't be any need for a 'things you didn't like' section

The restaurant was great. We ate breakfast here both mornings and one dinner. Rooms were clean and modern. Comfortable beds employees were very friendly and helpful (1 exception)

The elevator is too small for the volume of people needing to use it. 20 min wait to get down with luggage to check out. Also I came back to my room after being out for the day, and housekeeping had not pulled my door shut. Luckily nothing was stolen but the clerk at the front desk was not concerned when we told her. She was the only employee who was not overly friendly and helpful.

Welcoming email made me chuckle," we are in the process of fluffing up your pillows". New one on me. Marina, the receptionist was very nice, made check-in easy. The chocolate sweet was nice touch also. Bottle of water in room, massive tv on wall, great view from room of ships, coming and going. Fridge in room, tea & coffee, ironing board & iron. Working desk, plenty of wall sockets. Spacious room, settee,comfy bed, reading bedside light, quiet, warm. Toiletries supplied, plenty of towels, toilet rolls. I had room serviced, new towels, water, bed made after 1st night, which l wasn't expected. I never had breakfast, or a meal as l wanted to explore.5 min walk to town centre. 7 min walk to Engine Rooms ( music venue). I had a great two night stayl would thoroughly recommend. I hope you enjoyed my book!

As an improvement, l would fit a grab rail where you step into the bath to have a shower, as it is slippy trying to get out and a health& safety issue, in my mind. Otherwise, all good.

What a lovely hotel, from the minute we arrived everyone was so friendly & helpful. Beautiful decor throughout, stunning restaurant, fantastic breakfast buffet and coffee. We had a lovely comfortable bedroom room with a great view of the harbour, they even left a cute card and chocolates for my daughter who was celebrating her post 30th birthday. Car parking was easy, right infront of hotel entrance and reasonable at £15 for the night. Big shoutout and thanks to Priya on reception who was so lovely and welcoming when we arrived, also Simmi at breakfast who was just adorable and kind, she honestly couldn't do enough for us, both of these ladies are a credit to the hotel.. !! We'll definitely stay again for our pre cruise visit to Southampton and would highly recommend to friends and family.

Room was great. We only stayed one night annd it had everything we needed. We arrived early afternoon and they were happy for us to check in early. Nice touch. VOCO is a great option if you are looking for a good quality and very comfortable room for a short stay. We didn't have the breakfast, choosing to walk towards the centre and eat out (10 minutes walk max) but what we saw of the breakfast there looked very good. Great quality coffee too. As for parking, yes it is limited but had no problem getting a space when we arrived.

We had an amazing stay at Holiday Inn Southampton! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. A special thanks to the hotel receptionist who greeted us—he was exceptionally kind and made sure we got a beautiful room with a stunning view. The room was newly decorated, modern, and very comfortable. The location is perfect, close to the city center, making it easy to explore. Breakfast in bed was a lovely touch, and the food overall was excellent. We truly had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Southampton. Looking forward to coming back!

Not a problem to us as stayed many times but your marketing dept have failed to realise that changing the branding outside the hotel without putting Voco formerly Holiday Inn completely threw new guests who were driving round in circles looking for the hotel. I honestly thought at first youre email advising name change was a scam ! Also shocked to notice your prices on some nights have doubled - you’re now more expensive on some nights than the Southampton Harbour Hotel & Spa.

Lovely modern and looked after hotel, with lovely spacious rooms and a great view over the docks. Some members of staff were friendly, given complimentary chocolates on arrival and an accommodating selection of hot beverages in the rooms.

Parking was £20 per car per night. And not to the hotels blame but we were woken up by the fire alarm twice in the early morning which was reported to be due to ‘burnt toast’ happening twice by the same customer. As well as, a local festival taking place from 11am-11pm right outside the hotel with very loud music.

Always stay at holiday Inn because of the view over the Solent and seeing the ships when docked. Staff are always pleasant and helpful. Breakfast very nice and plenty of of choice. Looking forward to march next year.

This is our second stay here at the Holiday Inn. We were very fortunate to have one of the recently refurbed rooms. It was lovely. We also had a new flat screen TV. Coffee, tea, kettle etc. Nice hot shower. We were even treated to the Queen Victoria mooring up alongside the docks out the back. The whole hotel is getting a facelift, so things are a little different. Reception is reached through the Hampshire Suite doors, as the whole of the reception, restaurant and bar have been ripped out. I am told the work will take a couple of months to complete. But it won't impact apon your stay, as the restaurant and bar are also now in the Hamp Suite. It's all run very well. A special shout out to Simmi, the Breakfast Supervisor, who looked after us, made us welcome, and kept everything running smoothly in the restaurant - All the waiting staff have extra work to do, with the refurb. But they all did well. Breakfast is buffet style, with hot food, and cereals, fruit, yogurts and pastries, all looking very nice. The food in the evening was very tasty. Highly recommend the mixed grill! All in all, we had a lovely stay, and looking forward to seeing it when all the work is done on our next visit.
